  1. I'm familiar with resolutions and such but thanks for for the heads up on G-Sync. I thought my Titan X (980 series Maxwell) was too old to support it so I was only considering it for future GPU purchases. However I see it is only partially supported for all of G-Sync features. For now I ordered a Acer Nitro VG270 27" 1080P/75Hz for general use. It only has AMD Freesync though. Chose it because it has x2 HDMI and x1 VGA ports so I can use it with all my computers. Will have to get some DVI-D to HDMI adapters. Really would like to get a 75" MicroLED TV to game on. But will have to wait for the price to drop when they come out.
  2. You mean to tell me that they NEVER update the golf clubs or ball textures for Microsoft Links? Well, I'm not getting it then
  3. SO MANY CHOICES! This was the hardest thing to decide on of any computer part. It was making my brain hurt :) I have my collection of 7 computers I've put together over the years, 3 have a VGA only output. The rest have a mixture of DVI-I/HDMI/Displayport. It would be easy if the LED monitors I've seen have a DVI-I port (Digital/Analog) but most are HDMI/VGA or they are HDMI/Displayport. So decided to get a general use 27" HDMI/VGA so I can use it with anyone of them. Will have to get HDMI to DVI adapters for some. And when we get are $2,000 checks from Mr Biden, will spring for a 32" or larger gaming monitor for the one's that support it.
  4. If you would like to be able to use DX10 AND see the older aircraft and all of it's benefits, get Steve's DX10 Scenery Fixer... https://stevesfsxanalysis.wordpress.com/features/
  5. Where can you find a "normal aspect ratio" (assuming 4:3) anymore? All I can find is widescreen.
  6. @ dnimigon OK, just wanted to be sure you were not talking about this discontinued CH Flight Sim Yoke LE Gameport version as seen here...
  7. If you in fact have the "LE" version of the CH Flight Sim Yoke, that is a game port version (15 pin), not the CH Flight Sim Yoke USB. How are you connecting it to the computer? Adapter? Old soundcard? It may be possible that MSFS being a brand new game does not support it since newer game controllers are USB.
  8. You probably won't believe this, but I'm still using CRT monitors in 2021! I bought a Hitachi CM1797 (17") in 1994 that refuses to die (OMG 28 years old!). Later bought a Hitachi CM821 (21") in 2002 that started having issues, so rather then fix it, I lugged its 70 lbs ass to the recycler. I am interested in a 27" led but have never owned one before and would like some recommendations. Samsung? LG? Other?
  9. Wondering what the side effects will be of owning the ORBX London Landmarks Citypack and EGLC airport. With ORBX LOWI was necessary to disable the default LOWI airport.
  10. One other thing you can try is to extract the liveries directly to to root folder C:\ If you are trying to do it from the Downloads folder, it just makes the path that much longer... C:\Users\your name\Downloads
  11. This is probably plaguing anybody who did not specify a install location with the shortest name possible such as D:\MSFS
  12. If you check their forum, there are others reporting issues... https://drzewiecki-design.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=508
  13. I do have a havana cigar airliner (Cubana de Aviación?) and had OOM's. It is the QW 787, and the problem was some painters make liveries in 32bit or they call them 4K. As soon as I identified them, was a simple matter to reduce the texture sizes down and the OOM's went away. Maybe your having OOM's with only certain liveries?
  14. LOL... I share the same obsession. I always put FSX aircraft.cfg repaints in the folder order. Now you just opened another point of OCD! :)
  15. :) :) :) That's all I have to say about that!
  16. I concur on the 5 year thingy. There is a bus stop bench on the sidewalk outside our house in MSFS that was removed years ago.
  17. I think it all comes down to how the sim interprets the data from the Bing maps. In Washington D.C., the Washington Monument originally looked like a glass office building. Asobo fixed in the last update so it appears normal now. Dubai is not one of the highly detailed cities at the moment. But it might interest you to know I found a FREE landmark pack for Dubai here... https://flightsim.to/file/1112/dubai-city-pack
  18. For the record, I downloaded the Premium Deluxe from Microsoft Store after the first update. Naturally have installed latest update.
  19. Let's PLEASE keep this discussion civil. I don't want to see this thread locked. After all, he did start the thread. This is my status... 1. I just now started MSFS in on-line 2. Changed ONLINE FUNCTIONALITY to off and SAVED 3. Shut down MSFS, shut off computer 4. Disconnected the RJ45 cable from the cable modem 5. Restarted computer, started MSFS RESULT: Please insert disk
  20. The first time (Months ago) I DID turn off the ONLINE FUNCTIONALITY and save before shutting down. Was greeted with the "Insert disk" message next time starting. Guess I try turning it off and try again. You would think that if no internet was available, MSFS would automatically just start off-line.
  21. I use just a cable modem direct, no router. To be clear, I have zero issues running MSFS on-line. It's just this claim from Asobo that you can freely use the sim off-line and it does not. It's nice to know somebody has had the EXACT same issue though and I'm not nuts.
  22. Appears I spoke too soon... Once again...worked one time This game is just as bad as GTA V with their Periodic Entitlement check. Have to go ONLINE to play OFFLINE
  23. THANK YOU sfojimbo, Followed your instructions, powered off my cable modem and was able to go off-line again! I thought about toggling the store button off/on before but never tried it because didn't want to waste one of the 3 per year limit. Guess this procedure syncs MSFS for offline. It also answered a few questions too. Whenever you load a flight, it gives the data streaming warning and says MSFS is switching to off-line mode. I expected to see all the MSFS on-line related toggles to all be switched off. They conveniently all stayed on so you don't have to change them back. I have a few ORBX scenery products and wondered what happens to them in off-line mode, they all still work. Hope I don't see the dreaded Insert Disc anymore.
  24. Check you Data settings to see if anything on-line related got switched off.
