I scoffed at that, it's not worth $60.00 let alone $420.00 They were selling EACH plane for $9.99 (However those offers mysteriously disappeared?) so that's where the justification comes for $420.00 40 planes x $10.00 + the Reno scenery (value $20.00). If the entire package ever goes on sale for $19.99 USD, I'd snap it up.

should I reload software
dogdish replied to hobbitrocks's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
I too have the ORIGINAL install, it works just fine. All of the "packages" are always being updated, replacing the previous ones. So in effect, your getting a partial reinstall with every update. If Asobo posts a buggy update, a update update follows which replaces the files and issue. As long as you don't mess with any of the core files, WHAT IS THE POINT OF REINSTALLING? OK for some people, it gives you peace of mind. I have other things I can do besides wasting time with unnecessary reinstalling, that includes the OS and other applications also. Only thing I have done is this from Nick Cooper at ORBX... This clears out any old data files and rebuilds next time you start the sim. Obviously for #4 only the first time you restart, then you can put your add-ons back. I usually skip step #1 because it takes too long to rebuild and I usually just fly in a new area. EDIT: Also when asked to clear out the Community folder, it is enough to just rename it such as Community_OLD. Once you restart the sim one time, make sure the newly regenerated Community folder is empty, then delete it. Rename Community_OLD back to Community. -

QualityWings has been working on their Ultimate 787 Collection (including the 787-8, 787-9, 787-10) for MSFS a while. They have day jobs and work on it in their spare time. So who knows when it will be released. -
REALLY LIKE the Milviz PC-6 liveries. Could somebody paint the Mr. Sharky (S5-CMA) and the Zebra pattern (F-GLEU) for the new MSFS PC-6 Turbo Porter OR know where to get them if somebody all ready painted them

Yeah, took me a while to find it myself but eventually did. Also I have (had) a single button on my controller to toggle the parking brakes on/off. Had to go hunting for why the parking brakes would not release. Asobo I think added another button for Parking Brakes OFF and changed the Toggle ON/OFF to Parking Brakes ON. They also changed the co-pilot to handle all the ATC communication which I changed back. First time I've seen user settings get changed from one update to another, hope this is the last time.

Well went with Simple Traffic. Easy to install, and very pleased to be surrounded by real world airlines finally. One really stupid thing I am seeing is squadrons of AIRLINERS buzzing the airports. This seems to be a issue with MSFS/Asobo AI and hope it will be addressed. But for version 1, I'm happy with Simple Traffic.

Thank you for posting as I was not even aware of Alpha India Group. http://www.alpha-india.net/ I don't want to spend hours setting up a real world AI and it looks like that is the case with AIG. Seems that Simple Traffic is more of a quick install so I can just fly. Not real pleased with Aerosofts choice to go with the pointy nosed models though.

This Monday, November 15th 2021 (I hope, I hope) https://www.aerosoft.com/en/microsoft-flight-simulator/msfs-tools/3537/aerosoft-tool-simple-traffic?c=1582 Looks like it's only going to be about $15.00 USD and my new favorite add-on It is not the most sophisticated AI program, but I'm really sick and tired of all the generic traffic in MSFS.

Thanks Tiger, A few there by a guy named "Quack" (Hope he's not a doctor) Think I can trust him? :) They require signing up to download, just hope I don't get a bunch of junk mail. EDIT: The 12 liveries by Ryan Butterworth just have a countdown timer and don't require registering. That will keep me busy for awhile. THANKS AGAIN.

I always wait to about 10pm (PST) to update until the rush is over. Looks like Asobo gave the CH Products line some lovin' finally :) Since Carenado put their planes on sale, grabbed the Seneca V I was drooling over too. What next generation of hardware you waiting for sir zippy? I don't know how you can stand being without a obvious passion for ya  Waiting for Intel Golden Cove before I indulge again. BTW anybody know if the 747/787 ever got a proper two sided fuselage so you don't get a reverse texture on one side? -
Lost the programm
dogdish replied to ralphie1313's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
Your first post suggested that you were out of options after tinkering with your drives and needed a reinstall anyways. I did warn that you MAY lose your add-ons, should have said WILL lose. But as others have suggested, this IS a last option as this puts you back to a default install. -

Steam Verify Integrity of Game Files 1. Restart your computer and launch Steam. 2. From a game's library page, select Manage > Properties. 3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files... button. 4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes. PROFIT!!! NOTE: This may wipe out any add-ons -
The rumor is they dumbed the sim down to be able to run on XBOX with update VI. There's also a setting now to precache the off screen scenery that may have a effect on frame rates. Check if it's maxed out. ...and stop bragging :)

They DO give you free incremental updates for each version. I waited for version v5 (passed over v1~v4 because wanted a no OOM x64 sim) with no intention of buying v6 or later. One thing really cool was EVERY ORBX product I got for FSX was a free of charge update for P3D. True test will be if we get a FREE MSFS helicopter update

F-14 Tomcat: Now what?
dogdish replied to Mac6737's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
I was looking at that myself. I have the freeware Dino Cattaneo F-14 for FSX and the afterburner comes on at full throttle and wings automatically swing back at high speed and swing forward at low speed.. Is it doing the same? -
Fastest jet on MSFS?

Because MS Flight Simulator. Most fighters spend most of their existence training anyways. -
Latest mandatory update
dogdish replied to jrdale210's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
I had this annoyance too. If you get FSUIPC 7, at the very least you will immediately get a start up screen (AKA Splash screen) letting you know you initiated it (like every game ever made does, except for MSFS!) You can also get this batch file to add your own custom startup screen... https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/a-simple-splash-screen-after-starting-msfs/284716
