  1. I agree 100% I've installed Windows 10 one time and MSFS one time, that was a couple of weeks after when it first came out. Always been able to resolve any issues without the waste of time of reinstalling. Next best thing is this, which cleans out MSFS generated files and only takes a few minutes... https://forum.orbxdirect.com/topic/209129-microsoft-flight-simulator-please-try-this-first-before-asking-for-product-support/ Step 4 ??? I think he meant to say "Don't add anything to the Community folder until restarting one time."
  2. "Cache" are temporary dynamic data files and the other "Official"+"Store" are static data files.
  3. IDK...but report it to the zen desk. They do mention similar close to north/south poles https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us
  4. I had the exact thing you had AKA Crash To Desktop. I tried ORBX's Nick Coopers clean out procedure and it loaded OK. I skipped deleting the rolling cache though.
  5. Past flight simulators were limited to a bgl file of pre recorded voices that were triggered my a EXACT text such as atc_airline=SPEEDBIRD resulting in the sim saying "Speed Bird" etc. If you entered the wrong text, nothing. The Azure text-to-speech does not have this limitation and will say whatever it reads.
  6. Until SOMETHING becomes available, you can change out the Orbit, Soar, Pacifica or World Travel for your favorites. As the author suggests MAKE BACK UPS before you edit anything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxmAs9qDCss
  7. Aerosoft WAS working on Simple Traffic... https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/forum/1112-simple-traffic/ ...but cancelled it after SU5 killed it. They said they may try to revive it. My guess is Just Flight and Flight1 probably want to only release something when the sim becomes more refined and also wouldn't kill it with a new sim update..
  8. I've noticed it takes a minute or two for the MS Store MSFS update to pop up to download. All the Candy Crush Saga, etc. crap comes up first.
  9. I hope Asobo work out what killed the Aerosoft Simple Traffic add-on project. It looked really promising there for a while.
  10. I've installed Windows 10 ONE TIME and installed MSFS ONE TIME. Both work just fine. It is a waste of time do a "fresh" install. I gave up that re-install from scratch crap long ago.
  11. Update would CTD after about 5 minutes. Patch seems to have fixed whatever was broken. Wish they would fix the landing gear advisory though, very annoying. Click on the panel to turn it off and it sometimes comes back again.
  12. Don't know how you did that Mac, but that was Tim's quote, not mine! Glad you got the blue knobs sorted out.
  13. Easy to turn this "Feature" off. Why they made it default to irritate unsuspecting peeps I don't know
  14. Everytime a update is released, several of the packages get updated, so basically your getting a "reinstall". I just had my first CTD after my internet cutout and MSFS switched to off-line mode. Waited for modem to reconnect and all was good.
  15. After they fix the waves, I wish they would make waterfalls, actually fall.
  16. I found the answer to my question at the P3D Forum, thanks anyways.
  17. He just needs a bigger one of these... https://www.ebay.com/itm/114112279389?hash=item1a919f335d:g:Ca8AAOSwcrVeIUiz Will add another 50 FPS
  18. This is my situation... I do the Settings -> Help -> Sync Simulator, which is successful, just running P3D for the first time the dialog box pops up asking to OK every add-on I have. I was just asking what file I can save and paste into a freshly installed P3D version so I can skip the routine of OKing every add-on.
  19. I must do a thorough job of uninstalling a old version of P3D cuz every time I install a new version, I get asked over a 100 times to "Enable a add-ons" What file should I keep (and where) to place into a fresh install?
  20. That didn't take long...the v5.2 Hotfix 1 came out couple days ago. Install tonight.
  21. One other thing. If you want to be able to run Windows 11, make sure it comes pre-installed. Even the latest hardware can fail the Windows 11 compatibility test. I personally don't want it for now.
  22. I concur with the man from the UK! For me, 250Gb for Windows, 2Tb for MSFS w/ORBX, P3Dv5 w/ORBX, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and F1 2021. Still plenty of room for more add-ons. I got a data center rated 10Tb HDD with the intention of saving Manual Cache for off-line use. But ASSobo/Microsoft lied about MSFS being usable without a internet connection. There are now two speeds for NVME (I got the last generation). PCIe Gen3 or PCIe Gen4 Be sure to get whatever speed your board supports.
