  1. yes, instruments, in fsx p3d nobody messed with .air files either we are just in the beginning, to be able make better air files you need to know what your doing, you need a manpower that matches or beats the Asobo staff. Im sure if in future some PMDG or another serious developpers has better ideas for files that are encrypted MS will give them the key.
  2. Why is it so important if its ready or not ? It has been said from inside sources that it was intentionally released early. Because its such a complex sim that interlinks weather factors with engine, fuel consumption and aerodynamics a group of teen alpha beta testers was taking too long to address all the issues, re-test, and even then they would never be sure. Because MSFS is so popular, if not the most popular un-advertised game in the world, they realized that in order to solve the bugs FASTER, they had to release it early and let the millions of users bring the issues. They would immediately identify the real from the imaginary by the amount of same tickets for an issue. Its so simple, so elemental my dear Watson Why do you think you are smart to realize its not ready. Yes, we know, they know, everybody knows...it was intentional, thats how its suppose to be: not ready we are the real beta testers prior an Xbox release that since has kids as main consumers must arrive clean of bugs! Now you have a choice, get a refund or fly in the best sim ever, discovering, learning, and identifying improvements in the process. It doesn't matter what you choose, the world is full of simmers that WANT IT early anyway as it is and help it get better But stop crying saying "its not ready" and get a job!!
  3. Its been informed and MS ASOBO team already acknowledge it. They might fix it without anytime one day you turn the game on and its "searching for updates" Intentionally my friend. They suspend the sensitivity feature for some time to see how are the different brand controls working. The problem was that users were reporting tickets of "control problems" and MS would never know if they messed up the Sensitivity features Once they are sure all controls work fine they will reinstate the feature
  4. I was so happy back in 2004 using Tileproxy of Google Maps that were 10 years old, (1994) and now I have MSFS that uses maps from 2010. Thats a progress, I have improved maps in 16 years!
  5. The thing is, in planes your hand grips firmly on the yoke. The plane will always try to go left even with calm wind due to Torque and P factor In a real plane your hand makes great pleasure if you feel the yoke wants to move in the sim you are calm and relaxed and expect that just your fingers are enough to control the plane inside the computer. So it was on previous versions. The plane wont turn if you maintain a firm grip applying opposite force, in airliners the ailerons are trimmed automatically In GA your hand must not let the plane do what it wants, but instead what you want. Heres some literature ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Propeller torque effect Torque effect is the influence of engine torque on aircraft movement and control. It is generally exhibited as a left turning tendency in piston single engine propeller driven aircraft. According to Newton's law, "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction," such that the propeller, if turning clockwise (when viewed from the cockpit), imparts a tendency for the aircraft to rotate counterclockwise. Since most single engine aircraft have propellers rotating clockwise, they rotate to the left, pushing the left wing down. Typically, the pilot is expected to counter this force through the control inputs. To counter the aircraft roll left, the pilot applies right aileron. It is important to understand that torque is a movement about the roll axis. Aileron controls roll. Prop torque is not countered by moving the rudder or by setting rudder trim. It is countered by moving or trimming the aileron. This correction induces adverse yaw, which is corrected by moving or trimming the rudder (right rudder). On aircraft with contrarotating propellers (propellers that rotate in opposite directions) the torque from the two propellers cancel each other out, so that no compensation is needed. Further Reading: Propeller Torque Factor P-Factor P-factor is the term for asymmetric propeller loading, that causes the airplane to yaw to the left when at high angles of attack. Assuming a clockwise rotating propeller it is caused by the descending right side of the propeller (as seen from the rear) having a higher angle of attack relative to the oncoming air, and thus generating a higher air flow and thrust than the ascending blade on the left side, which at the other hand will generate less airflow and thrust. This will move the propellers aerodynamic centre to the right of the planes centreline, thus inducing an increasing yaw moment to the left with increasing angle of attack or increasing power. With increasing airspeed and decreasing angle of attack less right rudder will be required to maintain coordinated flight. This occurs only when the propeller is not meeting the oncoming airflow head-on, for example when an aircraft is moving down the runway at a nose-high attitude (in essence at high angle of attack), as is the case with tail-draggers. Aircraft with tricycle landing gear maintain a level attitude on the takeoff roll run, so there is little P-factor during takeoff roll until lift off. When having a negative angle of attack the yaw moment will instead be to the right and and left rudder will be required to maintain coordinated flight. However negative angles of attack is rarely encountered in normal flight. In all cases, though, the effect is weaker than prop wash.
  6. Those who complain the planes are dodgy or difficult to control, when I fly them with two fingers and so well trimmed sometimes dont even need to touch the yoke....let me tell you a story Last year using P3D a friend came to visit me, never heard of the sim but was interested. I showed him how easy it was to fly straight and level. I took off and gave him the controls to try the sim for the first time. The plane was flying virtually without needing to touch it. Only two fingers here and there When I passed the controls to him...you know what happened? It jerked from one side to the other, spin out of control. - "Its very hard to control", he said I know it was not, simply he was not trained for it. He was not a pilot, or a sim pilot Same thing happens in MSFS, those of you complaining are just coming from an "easier" flightsim and are either not used to a more demanding sim, or never have piloted a real either
  7. So long! stay safe and have long years with FS9 which I stopped using in 2006 after making many 2D cockpit addons for it Im really glad MSFS is tough and dodgy on simers used to unrealistic FDE Yes my friend, in real life its even more dodgy, plane twitches in all 3d dimensions, wind force you to fly sideways nearly always. If you are too high on approach you must learn to apply opposite pedal-aileron to reduce height without gaining speed (forward-slip) and many other techniques simmers dont even need to bother in a sim. I really wish those who cannot handle it will go back to where they came from fs9 fsx p3d xplane so we can put threads about real flying techniques in autopilot in airbus or garmin and other issues that were eased down for amateurs in other sim versions
  8. Are you sure you haven got random failures on? What about icing? was anti-ice on?
  9. who said that? Im already using a tweaked 787 MOD that made several improvements on the default just search for 787 in the github site All planes are editable easy, xml files edited with notepad Besides you dont even have to worry backing up the original files because all changes go in the Community folder leaving default files untouched
  10. I think its awesome. Just landed a flight with overcast weather in the Airbus, in FMC all working in detail with the Mod upgrade. On Monday i thought: I think Im going to reinstall XPlane so I can fly the 737 zibo while theres is no alternative in MSFS. Did that. Started the sim and got the "shock change" , visuals that are not even close to MSFS. Took off, flew a while and thought: naaaaa, what am i doing here, this is a step down. Interrupted the flight, quit the sim, uninstalled You see I tried to go back, its just not possible, once you try the several enhancements of MSFS, specially regarding aerodynamics and how the Airbus thrust speed responds to changes in temperature, wind, attitude, ...you go to the FMC, change the Air temperature and you ll hear the thrust adjusting, change weather settings the thrust and speed struggle adapting to the new environment in a way no other sim did before, its reading all the nature forces No way Im going to the past
  11. did you repeated the windows calibration? does it recognize pedals in joy.cpl ?
  12. the work around is empty the Community (copy to another dir) folder, start the game, start a flight, close the sim, add your personal files to community this was already happening before the patch with Neo Mod updates, everytime they updated the airbus it was not enough to add it to community, you needed to delete the previous MOD, start the game with a clean default airbus and only after this close the sim and put the MOD in community
  13. Have you gone to windows and recalibrated your joystick, it happened to me too, the sensitivity/calibration in-game is disabled
  14. uau! this is great! the patch really put some realism after all, yes prior to the flight check your battery buses, make sure brightness is up to your liking or day conditions, etc. This is looking good
  15. same here, I calibrated in windows again but no luck It could be intentional by allowing sensitivity settings MS was getting lots of ticket issues of control problems and they would never be able to tell if user messed up the sensitivity They will leave it unavailable for time enough to make sure controls work well across all brands and maybe later on when they will reinstate the feature to allow user preference?
  16. Why most avatar pilots are blacks or dark skinned, one oriental couple and look like rough? (Out of a fighting game, poorly shaven) Why arent there no middle aged pilots or senior captains with grey or white hair (ageism?) Why there no blondes, balds? In all...why dont they put avatars that look more like real people? Is that a technological difficulty? In trying to be political correct MS has put up a poorly representative group of real aviation pilots Hope to see more plurality in future patches
  17. havent downloaded any freeware scenery yet meaning that paying is out of the question. We have too much of eye candy in non populated areas. We need good planes, analogue, and Ai traffic with real airlines (which in turn are only possible with planes), bugs resolved, better real weather and seasons
