  1. I shall mark your post and come back to you in a year. I never played MS Flight, was happy with FSX, my smell and intuition told me not worth buying. With MSFS, I was so sure I bought in July By the way you show a degraded sense of sim excellency cause you are still stuck on FS9 when the one that surpassed it was FSX, which in turn was improved by P3Dv4, not to mention XP11 Let me tell why you are wrong. In less than 2 weeks of release the list of freeware addons (mostly landmarks) you can find in allflightsmod is impressing. Forget about scenery, the future of scenery is to perfection each landmark, building and corner of the city. Someone eventually will put it all together, but todays quest is to slowly improve each city with first the notable buildings, when thats done users will add whatever part of the city they feel is missing. In a few months cities will have a detail unseen so far. Same with airports. Airplanes We know how they have improved the A320 Mod, totally free. I would say if payware companies dont hurry Zebo versions of different aircraft will start appearing. Do you know why Zebo appeared in Xplane and was a success? Because it was a sim with many simmers and NO Boeing 737 That was unforgivable! No company wanted to develop for Xplane because they were busy with FSX and P3D What happened? Users did it, free. And it boosted XPlane even more! Right now we are seeing a similar situation Everybody is eagerly hoping for the classic or beloved planes Nobody can stand anymore these experimental glass cockpits that are not the reality in airports around the world, past and present. And I say "past" which is as important as present. Cause many take their memories of life to be recreated in the sim, and they are usually from the past. So i dont forsee anything like MS Flight because the community and developpers already embraced it. It will be an infinite availabilty of addons, specially freeware. I feel the richness compared only to FS98 when nearly 100% of addons were free
  2. First turn the FILTER to ALL so you can see what is assigned to your joystick in "Power Management" Check if you have this same settings. Whats the brand of tour joystick? Sorry, I meant "Slider X" and wrongly typed Z
  3. Yes, to avoid conflicts I delete any Axis X reference either in the mouse and in keyboard. (I will only use my joystick for power so that frees keyboard keys for other personal settings). In my Joystick profile i just select "Throttle Axis" to my jostick slider X and thats the only input DO NOT select "Throttle increase" and "Throttle Decrease" that is wrong! just search for "Throttle Axis" and choose only that one, delete any other
  4. Yes, absolutely right 2cvNation What keeps us simmers for more than 20 years in the sim is its complexity and increasing potential. All Xbox users grow tired of their games and move on to another. Millions will use Xbox MSFS for the first year or two. The PC users will carry on using it beyond that
  5. I agree, there will be a closed sim ready-to-use for xbox, and an open sim constantly growing and being tweaked for PC, and the PC fans will remain steady, growing less than Xbox of course, but the ones that atract a more serious dedication to the flightsim hobby
  6. Take the home-made cockpits for example. A similar but more complex simming Do you think its just buying one and start flying? Have you any idea the amount of hours they spend in forums setting and configuring their systems? Electrical wiring, fuses, AC power units, extensions, setting up multiple monitors, secondary panels, views, it takes months to study and set, and constant monitoring and adjusting. In home-made cockpit fans you ll find no lamers crying that their system doesnt work and they want a refund. They get into that hobby knowing there is a long learning curve
  7. it has always been like that Understanding the folder structure in FS ever since fs2000 is key addon scenery, where does it go? there is a Texture folder, does that goes in the main Texture or in the addon texture? Oh i see, if in the main Textute it will affect all the sim textures and not just the addon... Panels, how to edit panel.cfg, add a gauge, how to edit a gauge, change colors, lightning Sounds, found a more realistic sound, how to add it All past flightsims required a decent to huge knowledge of Windows (the opearting system) text editing, folder structure of the sim. In real aviation you have fields that are not present in simming: plane mechanics, airport regulations, official ATC phraseology, filling flight plans, consulting real weather, electric wiring, pitot and hydraulics systems, draining water from your piper Cub fuel tank, checking and refueling with OIL your GA airplane, etc etc etc. In the Sim we dont have a series of knowledge fields, but we do have computer and software decent knowledge. Absolute requirement if you want to grow in its full potential. I usually say that Windows and FS structure (your PC where it all happens and comes to life) are the fourth MFD in our virtual cockpit. If you dont master it, you ll have problems flying And believe me, the world is full of capable simmers enough to make the sim a success and make others think "I want it" or wish it
  8. In a way...you know Im kind of pleased the sim is "an impossible task" to some. (Im being sarcastic here, its gonna be a "pull your leg" so you see how I can counter people who are negative towards the new sim) It gives the level of difficulty real aviation has to leave out the less-focused, the less-attention to detail, the non-willing-to-learn, the lazy ones looking for everything ready-configured, ready-to-fly, ready-to-land. I always felt the xbox thing would attract millions of arcaders not caring about realism and that could influence developer's compromise with complexity. Because what made Flightsim famous ever since FS1 was that "it was not an easy" game, you needed to learn some aviation basics (speed, altitude, heading, vertical speed, etc) to go places, and as complexity grew (pmdg, etc) so did the flightsim hobby and fans. So by MSFS being itchy in installing, configuring, handling directories for tweaking, and later on (i expect) complexity and realism of the planes itself, just makes me happy. I know these difficulties will separate the non-capables and will attract more people to the sim eager to beat the challenge of make it work like a charm and enjoy its flexibility, potential and a leap forward. Say what you want. It doesnt matter if you are a computer engineer or a real world pilot. This is a Sim, not real life, with its complexity and learning curve of its own.
  9. That same issue happened to me the first time i started the sim. Went to Options Controls, filter All, deleted all the assignments for slider Z, added the 2 throttle increase and decrease and it was ready to fly. It took probably 45 seconds. For you is taking since aug 18th 20 days, sad
  10. As I said... you can make anything flyable The File Library has many UFOs, spaceships, flying cars, flying bathtubs, just explore the library, they were done for Fs2002, Fs9 and Fsx. How many will grab it...Thats what I meant by "i dont think" Im being honest, not trying to please you. In the sim world even the Icon A5 is popular with owners in real life, in the sim its of less value. And in future...if/when planets and space is simulated, I would love a Han Solo style Star War ship to explore the moons of Saturn. Go ahead...try it
  11. to post a poll you click in Post New Thread and at the end of the page there is an option Post a Poll with number of options (Yes, No, Dont Know, etc) personally I dont think there`s interest. This is a Flight Simulator where we like to "simulate" existing planes in the forces of nature and gravity with its limits. But because its a computer program, you can actually fly anything you want if you configure the model settings enough power, rate of climb, speed, etc. Meaning its all FAKE, you can make a shoebox fly if you configure it correctly, or a chair, or your home fridge.
  12. You miss the point This is a Forum to get help and you only have to go through the threads to see how people are helpful and solve 90% of users doubts and problems When I go back with sarcasm and say "you must be the problem" or sometimes i really want to point out his stupidity, is because how the problem was presented. As a disrespectful rant... Im not a telephone operator or an MS employee, just a user as everybody else, simmers that stop flying in order to read a thread and try to help So when you see: "tough, the problem must be you" read the OP post. For every reaction theres is a counter-reaction. And even then, after a bit of sarcasm, I`ll try to help if I know something
  13. ok, lets see what else Is your mouse wifi? usb? where is the dongle? some dongles cant be put in a Usb 3 because they could interfere. Have you tried changing usb. Go to the same situation in your video with secondary windows open and while moving the mouse and seeing elevator and aileron rudder move, unplug your joystick from the usb and keep moving the mouse to see if control surfaces move. If they do we know there is no conflict with the joystick
  14. however you can handle controls to AI copilot and he will fly the plane for you in whatever direction you want while you look at the view
  15. I see could tou post a video or print of the Controls, Mouse ? and make sure the FIlTER "ALL" is applied as you can see mine is all blank
  16. KiloWatt is right! The minimum spec is the GTX770 So only the GTX family is supported
  17. What Windows 10 version you have? Have you checked youtube on videos with MSFS2020 crash?
  18. You can create a new View Just zoom in the panel to leave just the main instruments and part of the outside view, what we call "landing view" press CTRL ALT and a number 0-9 in the keyboard to save that view To load it press ALT and the number chosen
  19. Have you guys checked Options, Controls, Mouse? And see if your Axis (ailerons, rudder, etc) is assigned to MOUSE ? I dont have that problem. And in Controls-Mouse i only have Radios and Camera presets
  20. it should run make sure your windows is updated to a version later than 1906 update your graphic drivers close unnecessary programs running in the background install xbox gaming services open Game Bar , search and select for Msfs2020 and add it to Game Bar so windows will give priority to it. Make sure you are logged on to your MS or Xbox account
  21. No, not needed. Just buy it from MS store and install Xbox Gaming Services app is good to have it installed in Windows and later in Game Bar app select MSFS2000 so it will give priority over other windows processes. You must be logged to your MS account to download
  22. Kurt forget my previous post. I had seen a C152 manual online but is different from the sim In the sim the C152 has 14 gallons in each tank I set it to 2 gallons each Took off from KMIA heading 300 climbing at 75kts to 5000ft then maintained 95kts with mixture 40% Engine died 15 minutes later at about 35 miles. There was still one gallon in each tank. So it actually consumed 2 gallons total for a 15 minute flight including take-off and 35 miles range at clear conditions I included the take-off because you must take off in any flight to go somewhere, its part of the range So with full tank I guess I could fly for 3 hours and 15 minutes and could possibly go 455 miles which is perfectly consistent with REAL life
