  1. plus if you have MEDIUM assistance in Piloting means the sim is controlling your yoke, which is odd
  2. Its not "way too many" its an incredible few bunch, microscopic, so few we shouldnt worry. MSFS sold one million copies as for last week, so i reckon i have seen here about 10-20 threads of installation problems (mind you they are always the same folks but they keep repeating posts) plus another bunch at the other site, discord, MS, so its less than 0,0000...%. And invariably 95% solve their problems quickly, in hours or days. So the ones that carry on must be a fraction of the fraction, in this forum you plus others that are less than the fingers in my hand Out of the one million users its easy to count how many have problems cause they will voice it out in forums. Thats why we see first time posters appearing suddenly. If someone cant install he/she will register at some forum and try to solve it. They are not regulars interested in learning or discussing, they just want their product installed and then go back to flying without ever participating in forums again. And even if you are a decent PC user generally with no issues, sometimes the Know-everything guys that like to tweak windows, use vpn, install stuff, restore, clean, overclock...these users are the most common to get issues. So if you say "experienced user" fine, if you are a total newbie you are also fine, you wont touch anything or do silly things. The problem is with the medium user... If the sim doesn't install there is no other reason but this: There is a problem with your PC Just that. No other reason And that is why the only thing that can be done is suggestions...try this, try that, etc
  3. Install problems means your Windows has issues. crashes also. Check tour xbox Gaming Services and reinstall Install your Xbox Pass for Pc (some say not necessary but it helps) Make sure you are logged to your MS account Check your firewall and Windows version (must be higher than 1906)
  4. No problems here. Downloaded the patch in 10 minutes and my connection is slow Its more likely a problem at your machine There is only one patch, not two Cancel the download, restart windows, go to Settings/Apps, and do a Repair of your Msfs Maybe your Windows must have issues, Firewall, Xbox Gaming Services not installed, (I had an issue that on the very first day august 18th, couldnt install it was frozen in the blue bar around 30%, they told me to reinstall Gaming Services (because i had disabled it in the past) and it downloaded normally. Also install Xbox Pass for PC, some say it helps. And make sure your logged on to your microsoft account or Xbox/Steam depending where you purchased
  5. Before take off you really have to wait a minute or more until the fane download the tiles and adjust weather if live or ATC, stutters are common in this phase and fps can freeze or come down to 1, depending on qhich programs you have running in the backwards or windows processes eating cpu resources. Let it adjust take this time to prepare your cockpit, study the route, etc
  6. could be so many things... do you have flaps? mixture must be around 60% cause you are at a 5000 ft airport because you are using "medium" assistance a lot of things may be triggering, I never turn any assistance on, whats the point? in a lesson? do you want to learn or not? please in aviation terms, the speed is "knots" not mph i just did the lesson, took off with one step of flaps, retracted at 200 ft then maintained 75 knots with vertical speed 500ft/min till 5500
  7. Good Test Kurt Im testing the C152 It consumes 6.1 gallons per hour (at standard conditions) with a total 52 gallons So how far it can go depends also on ground speed (tail/head wind)
  8. its the Windows 10 US English. I dont know where are you from but you must have the US English as installed language in Windows. So if your windows has just English (Australia) or other english wont work unless its connected, but with no guarantee. You can have whatever language you wish in windows, but you must also install the US English
  9. Mine was a captain DC6 in the 50s Comet 4 early 60s B707 late 60s B747 mid 70s and as a kid and teen I flew with him in transatlantic flights from Buenos Aires to London Rome or New York in all those 3 jets
  10. Unbelievable!! but congratulations if you like it. Cause in FS9 days (2002 2003) I was a freeware addon developper of 2D cockpits. I made a cockpit of a 747-200, Caravelle, DC10 boy it was fun My 2D 747 cockpit had interactive buttons that would take you to the galley, upperdeck, to the toilet complete with lock door light on, toilet flush sound, and in cabin you could bump on a passenger that clicking on her she would speak to you, then another button would place you at your seat, click a button and the table came down, call the flight attendant and she would come and speak to you and offer a meal trail hahah those were the days. It was one of the most downloaded cockpits of the time But 2D days are ober
  11. Is that YOUR problem? The Hat Switch? It works perfectly. I press the END key and pan with the Hat Switch And you know what? Its the ONLY button you need. "END" button. The rest is all with Hat, need to zoom in or out use the mouse wheel or the - and = The thing is the Camera Menu inside MsFS have dozens pf other configurations, slew, drone, that is what confuses most. Forget about all that, dont ever open the Camera settings. Just use the END button. Unless you are a video pro maker to sell your stuff you dont need any other cameras. But you need to confirm: is HAT your problem? If it is its a settings problem you have in the joystick and there are many threads in this forum explaining how to configure. Every two days someone post a thread saying the sim is a disgrace because they cant use the HAT
  12. i have all pilot assist off and the cockpit tool tips keep showing Whats the point in having Assists anyway? Its a sim, we shouldnt be afraid of making mistakes and the assists are kind of game cheat I know many like it and thats why MS put them there. Take autopilot for example, you can turn the knob left or right, then clicking upwards engages FMC command, clicking down the actual selection. We couldnt know this without the tips I think the tool tips are a nuissance, maybe good for the first week of the sim to know how buttons work etc. They are too big opening a large text description of the button, reducing the immersion experience. The tooltips were supposed to disappear when OFF in settings but they still show. I think its intentional. MS needs it on because many people dont know there ways in a cockpit and many times they will disable and spread threads about "how do you..." "such thing is broken" If I knew the command and file in which is located i will tweak it hope someone discovers
  13. My computer hasnt got a DVD drive and my previous system back in 2017 didnt have one either. Discs are proun to scratching and while I still have some old discs with movies from 2006 that work, I made backup of all my stuff in discs to a one tera USB pendrive. Much smaller, all in one place. I didnt know DVD bays are still included in new systems. I dont think they are, if your system has a DVD bay either is too old or you build it and forcely included one. That is why companies dont do disc releases anymore
  14. For atc to work must have english US installed (not other English) plus internet conection for azure sound, plus make sure when you are selecting the departure destination flight plan, click on Flight Conditions (weather) and make sure Real live Traffic is also selected there. On General - Data, make sure Live Real World is also selected, as well as in General Traffic There are 3 different places you must set on
  15. yes! he was making small corrections cause he had a crosswind. Important to note that after the autopilot is disconnected (audible tone) he applies a lot of trim (you can see the wheel spinning) to adjust nose down for the new gear and flap position. This trims the plane perfectly and that creates slightly larger null zone. Also the lower the speed the higher the null zone cause there is less air to press the ailerons. At high/cruise speeds any minor movement makes the plane turn
  16. Many folks are having issues with Joystick sensitivity, null zones...should be less? should be more? We are also waiting for addons of classic jets that were traditionally flown by hand I came across this interesting landing video of a 727-100, watch how the pilot deals with the Yoke https://www.facebook.com/aviacionmexico/videos/844253196056284/?
  17. Varieties is nice. Agree that a hydro floating would be interesting. Its a matter of taste. I dont like tailwind planes or experimental, nor acrobatic double wing. Nor the Glass cocpits So if you add tailwind+experimental+acobatic+glass the only GA plane left is the C152. So thats the only plane I can fly at the moment
  18. Does the little server required to make the link with the sim affect fps in any way?
  19. I understand The patches will never end We ve seen them in P3D, each patch fixes things you didnt even know were not functioning Sure they will fix what can be fixed in a short period of time, simple fixes, while tackling more complex ones on a continuous term.
  20. Great news Excellent to see MS is moving fast and addressing most issues and trying to solve them still within the month. First class team
  21. must have scratched during the download anyway, do unscratched windows exist? the nature of plexiglass is to have millions of micro scratches at close up
  22. To the folks that sim in other versions, let them cry MSFS2020 just passed one million copies https://www.vg247.com/2020/09/03/microsoft-flight-simulator-1-million-players-date/
