  1. I know, it’s fantastic isn’t it? You can also change location, although when I tried that i found myself stuck in the ground slightly & it took a few moments for the scenery to appear. It was another post on here somewhere (can’t remember which topic) where it mentioned how to do this. I just wanted to try it for myself & im so glad I did :) I’ve kept my developer mode on & o haven’t noticed any drops in performance. Regards Steve
  2. I would go with modern. Presumably the legacy model is based on flight models of previous sims. The modern one is the new, up to date one. Regards Steve
  3. Did you also install the “digital ownership”? I’m sure I read somewhere that you need to install that first. I did that anyway (& before the release date). So I can’t say 100% but on release date I installed the sim and didn’t have any problems. Go back into the arms Store & you will see it listed. Certainly worth a try. Regards Steve
  4. I have just tried changing my aircraft without restarting & I can confirm.. yes you can! :) Developer mode needs to be on. Go into options.. general.. developers (tab at bottom left) & switch it on. An old style menu bar will appear at the top left of your screen. While flying (or at an airport etc) using this menu bar.. click on Windows & then aircraft selector. A list of available aircraft drops down (I had to drag mine down a bit) I chose a different aircraft & it loaded in a matter of seconds. :) Regards Steve
  5. I also have three screens (three 43” televisions) & I currently have them the same way you do.. In windowed mode with the window stretched across all three. It’s not ideal as you know but for the moment it’s the only way. I understand they will be adding multi screen capability but it’s not here yet. Regards Steve
  6. Nothing wrong with your system (although 32Gb of ram might be a good idea sometime) You’ve got a very fast internet connection! Make sure the online settings are all on. Go into Options, General, Data... check online functionality, bing maps etc Regards Steve
  7. I absolutely agree :) We’ve never had it so good... & it’ll get even better. I can’t see me ever launching XP11 or P3D ever again. Regards Steve
  8. “ 3 How do I change aircraft without starting over -- You cant” Actually, going by a post on this forum yesterday, you might be able to. I haven’t done it myself yet, but apparently there’s an option if you enable developer mode. I will try it myself later As for refuelling, you ask for ground services (atc menu) if they’re available. The smaller airfields have a fuel station. You park your (GA aircraft) along side and a menu pops up Regards Steve
  9. Hi John, you want to check out Dubai & the Burj Kalifa. Quite impressive. But then we’ve got the whole world to visit now :) Regards Steve
  10. I agree Frank, it is so much better than FSX. I too was an Alpha/beta tester & I am not disappointed at all! Regards Steve
  11. Thanks for that. I saw the mode yesterday but didn’t want to mess with it. I’ll certainly have a proper look now Cheers Steve
  12. Internet speed & time of downloading clearly makes a difference. I have VM 200mbps & I started the download at about 4am It took about 1.5 hours! (direct from Microsoft) Regards Steve
  13. I work nights, but I’ll be home for 4am! The question is.. will I be able to sleep without starting the install. If I do start it... will I be getting up every so often to check on it? :) Oh, and another thing.. some who have bought the deluxe/premium deluxe versions and have already installed it, are finding that it has only installed the standard version. Another reason to wait. Regards Steve
  14. For those of you who don’t know, the release version is now available in certain locations https://www.flightsimulator.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-release-times/ Many flight simmers around the world have already downloaded it by changing the computer’s time zone location to Kiribati :) Some have had problems but others haven’t Personally I’m going to wait until tomorrow, just in case Regards Steve
  15. I don’t know if you’re still interested JP... but it appears a company called “The Gamesmen” is selling the boxed version in Australia https://www.gamesmen.com.au/microsoft-flight-simulator-premium-deluxe-edition?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI956n_5ef6wIVTwwrCh2k1gxdEAQYASABEgKoKvD_BwE I’ve never heard of them (but then I’m in the UK) & if it was me I’d still go for the download instead but you might want to take a look. Regards Steve
  16. They are PCIE cards which enable you to install M.2 NVMe drives if your motherboard doesn’t have M.2 slots already I discovered that mine does have two slots & bought an M.2 NVMe drive just a week or two ago. They are much faster than SSD drives Regards Steve
  17. You have to be online to see other online players, but then most people will be online anyway for the scenery and live weather etc. I can’t comment on the traffic, but we are so close to the release date now so hang in there Regards Steve
  18. There will be helicopters at a later date. Whether it’ll be a free update or a paid addon isn’t clear. As for floatplanes.. we do have the Icon A5. Maybe more will arrive later. Regards Steve
  19. Yes, as long as you’ve got automatic updates turned on. Not everyone does (I didn’t used to have it on) Regards Steve
  20. I think you need to click on Australia when the website detects it, that way you will be charged in Australian dollars rather than US dollars. I seem to think I had a similar message when I ordered it (except it said UK) As for the arrows I can’t really comment, but I wouldn’t worry about it :) Regards Steve
  21. It’s your choice, but I’ve had Windows 10 for some time now & FSX works fine (not that I really use FSX much nowadays) I think people who have had problems are those with the acceleration pack, which I never bought. Still, who will want to use FSX after the 18th? :) Regards Steve
  22. Way to go :) I’ve been using the Alpha/Beta since February but I still have XP11, P3D & FSX installed, although I haven’t really used any of them for months (only FSX to compare) Looking forward to Tuesday as I’m sure many of us are Regards Steve
  23. However it’ll only be available on DVDs (10 discs) if you live in Europe, for the time being anyway. If you’ve got a Good broadband connection, you’re better off buying/downloading it online Regards Steve
  24. Hi Chris, I don’t know how big the main installation will be. Suppose it depends on which version you buy. I actually said 90gb “+” :) My main point being you will get to choose which drive/location to wish to install it. Regards Steve
