  1. +1 excellent sim, and well worth investing your time in.
  2. Hi Pete, My advice would be to persevere with Laminar Research. It sounds like you have a faulty disc, so I am sure they will help you out. They are a great group of people (extremely friendly), so just be a little more patient. Let us know how you get on! Dominic
  3. Hi Larry, Here is the article in question: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?19795-Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-Developer-Interview
  4. Well, here we are...our very first ‘new’ Microsoft Flight Simulator forum. This is where we want you to share all that you know, and all that you want to know about Microsoft’s new simulator! These really are exciting times, and like I mentioned in the interview article, I have never been so...buzzed! The team at Microsoft really want this to be a ‘community’ driven sim, and there is no better group of people to do that, than you guys!! Over the years, you have managed to keep the Flight Simulator franchise alive with scenery, aircraft, screenshots, forum posts, you name it...you did it, and this is what we now need to do with the latest title. Sure, it’s early days, but let’s build this simulator together!
  5. Echo the comments above; a wonderful model and a real gift to the community! 150 downloads and only two comments? Here's hoping for more :-) Thanks again!
  6. Before this becomes yet another embarrassing mud slinging exercise, I think it's important to remember that both platforms are highly regarded simulators, kept alive by a wonderful and passionate community (dare I say...too passionate at times) ;) Each one of the simulators you enjoy, has thousands of quality freeware add-ons, uploaded by generous individuals, and as simmers, we are without doubt, spoilt for choice! The reason I mention this is because...why aren't you guys flying?:pilot: Banging away in the forums about which sim is better than the other is quite frankly...childish. Sure you want to stick up for it, but (from what I have seen over the years), you are highly unlikely to change the other persons views. Download some stuff, leave a comment for the author if you enjoy it (something many developers have asked for), but please...leave the bickering out of the forums; Nels and I find it pretty tiring at times! Your fellow flight simmer:cool::pilot::cool: Dom
  7. Gateway Artist Raligard We often take them for granted, but X-Plane's Gateway airports are an important element of the simulator, and much of this is to do with the many talented Gateway artists involved. One such artist...Raligard, was recently interviewed by Laminar Research: https://www.x-plane.com/2019/08/qa-with-gateway-artist-raligard/ To find out more about the Gateway, check out the link below: https://gateway.x-plane.com/
  8. Are you talking about freeware or payware?
  9. Sorry, I have to disagree with you on this. If you look in our file library, you'll see thousands of free add-ons for X-Plane, many of them being of exceptional quality. If you want a great GA flyer, check out Keith Walton's fantastic Grob Tutor: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?18920-Interview-Keith-Walton Dom
  10. 100 years ago today: The first scheduled international passenger flight departed https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/first-scheduled-international-passenger-flight/index.html
  11. Roger, I'm from Scotland...and it depends on the time of day :-) Fantastic scenery in every way....highly recommended.
  12. Trevor Guest X-Plane Developer Interview Many of you might have missed the interview I conducted with Trevor Guest, a rather talented scenery developer, so if you did, here is the link below: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?19513-Trevor-Guest-X-Plane-Developer-Interview It makes for a great read, and is just another example of the lengths freeware developers will go to ensure we continue to enjoy this wonderful hobby. A very generous individual...so please let him know his work is appreciated in the comments box below the interview:)
  13. Regarding the comment above... The scenery performs flawlessly. The file size is correct (please see description).
  14. Excellent work Kenneth, many thanks for sharing!! Cheers Dominic
  15. Stunning work! Many thanks for sharing with the community!
  16. Once libraries are installed, you can forget about about them until they need to be updated. An advantage to the library method, is that sceneries are a lot smaller to download.
  17. Fantastic work! Well done and many thanks! Dominic
  18. Thank you for such a lovely looking aircraft Stefano. She flies beautifully in P3D :-) Dominic
  19. Fantastic Manfred, many thanks for this wonderful (and highly entertaining) gauge :-) Cheers Dom
  20. Hi chaps, I have emailed the original team, and they have very kindly allowed FlightSim.com to host VOZ 1.8 (the final complete version). You should be able to download this incredible add-on later on today. Many thanks to both John Venema and Jay Kae. Regards Dominic
  21. Excellent work Art, thank you so much for sharing!
