  1. There's a lot out there to enjoy, just be mindful of your setup though (realistic expectations needed). The 530 IGPU found in your CPU is going to severely limit how well games are displayed on screen, so I would probably go for an older sim. However, even a budget oriented dedicated GPU will allow you to explore more titles...so that's something to consider for the future.
  2. Integrated graphic solutions (like the one mentioned above) have improved tremendously over the years, and whilst it's true they offer a reasonable gaming experience for the casual gamer, they are still some way off the mark when it comes to GPU extensive tasks. Investing in a dedicated GPU will enhance your gaming experience no end...especially in regards to the sims mentioned in previous posts.
  3. Judging by what the developers have posted regarding specs, I'd say you're going to have lots of fun when it's finally released!!
  4. Sorry chaps, this one is heading south, so I'm closing it.
  5. Sometimes it is best to just try. Many X-Plane 10 sceneries work well, but due to the improved land data in X-Plane 11, you may encounter (or not), a few issues.
  6. Hi Robin, Did you look here: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?304864-Is-there-a-Blackburn-Beverley-fir-fs9 There's a FS2004 model in one of the links provided, plus they seem to have got the FS2002 model working :-) Cheers Dom
  7. @rooitou We all look forward to seeing your own "generous" contributions here in the file library.
  8. Hi Biff, I have a few recommendations for you: Wings Over The Reich: http://www.overflandersfields.com/wotr_website/ (great team, and full of enthusiasm). Our review here: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?19531-Review-Wings-Over-The-Reich/view/1 IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad https://store.steampowered.com/app/307960/IL2_Sturmovik_Battle_of_Stalingrad/ Of course there is also Cliffs of Dover, but I prefer WOTR. If you fancy a bit of WW1 dogfighting with an incredibly dynamic campaign, then check out Wings Over Flanders Field (WOFF): http://www.overflandersfields.com/index.html A vast amount of aircraft included, and as you can see...some fantastic reviews :-) Have fun! Dominic
  9. Brilliant work Erwin...I have many happy memories of visiting HMS Belfast as a child. Thank you Dom
  10. Something else to check, would be to see if applying VSync to your GPU settings makes any difference. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/728853-gpu-noise-and-crazy-high-fps/
  11. Here's an interesting news item we posted yesterday: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?20451-NVIDIA-Calls-On-PC-Gamers-To-Put-GPUs-To-Work-Battling-Coronavirus
  12. A little Piper Cub for me :-) Back to basics...and just so much fun.
  13. Hi Mark, As a big fan of "old games", I have to say that Windows 10 (from my experience anyway), works almost flawlessly. Head on over to GOG.com and you'll see what I mean, as many of these old classics now run natively on Microsoft's latest OS (not to mention Windows 7, OSX and Linux). To give you an example...I published an article a while back on a game I enjoyed as a kid; F-19 Stealth Fighter by Microprose: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?18935-A-Look-Back-at-F19-Stealth-Fighter-by-Microprose&new_comment Not only was the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable, it was also rock solid! Windows XP was a great platform, but from what I experience in the gaming world, and also the developers I speak to, Windows 10 is the platform of choice, and rightly so...even for classic gaming :-) Regards Dominic
  14. Lovely scenery Doug, really well done! Thanks for sharing! Dominic
  15. FAB work, brings back many happy memories :-) Thank you for all the time and effort you put into creating this!
  16. Israel's Farm by Orbx. Reason? Peaceful, plus on and off phone reception!
  17. Many thanks Milton and team! I really value your contributions, so keep up the great work :-) Dom
  18. Can I just add, that if you do find something you like, then perhaps leave a comment for the author. I know for a fact that many enjoy getting feedback and that it greatly encourages them. Dominic
  19. Excellent work Neil, well done and thanks for sharing! Cheers Dom
  20. Hi Fred, I'm afraid it's a frame-rate issue, as your system isn't really up to the job of running X-Plane 11 (I assume that is the version you're trying to run?). Also, it's a well known fact (surprised it wasn't mentioned in the previous posts), that AMD GPUs are notoriously slower than Nvidia when running X-Plane - due to how their OpenGL driver operates. As for suggestions.... If funds allow, then I would go for a new MB, memory, and GPU (preferably Nvidia). Hope this helps, and let us know how you get on. Dominic
  21. Dick Mohatt Interview - FSX/FSX-SE Scenery Developer Dick Mohatt enjoys flying FSX and finding airports that need improvement. Starting in the mid-West where he grew up, his range has expanded to include some larger airports as well as military bases. Though never a pilot, Dick was in the Air Force and now being retired gives him time to create and share his creations with the rest of us. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?19744-Dick-Mohatt-Interview After reading through Dick's interview, why not leave him a message; I know it'll be appreciated.
