  1. What were your graphics settings? It can look a bit ropey if set too low.
  2. Yes, not quite as detailed, but it's certainly something I could live with.
  3. Hi Stanley, I've just tried this whilst flying around Belfast and didn't experience any crashes (so far), so I'm just wondering...is it happening in a particular area or aircraft? Cheers Dominic
  4. That's your definition Mark, but the truth is...a flight simulator is software/hardware which simulates real flight: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_flight_simulation Unless you've actually left terra firma, you're not actually flying...you're simulating it...which is what all our sims do (this includes Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020).
  5. Chaps, this is getting very very boring... One more derogatory post and this thread gets closed (yes...another one). Go and fly somewhere, enjoy what you have....anyone would think you get more pleasure from bitching about each other! Dominic
  6. Morning chaps... I've had to remove quite a few "heated" comments this morning; not something I enjoy doing when I haven't even had my first coffee of the day :-) Can we please keep this nice...and most importantly of all...respect your fellow members (I can't emphasize this enough). If this fails to work, I'll have to close this thread. Thanks Dominic
  7. Thanks Mark...I try my best :-) Thank god for cycling!!! Cheers Dom
  8. My short flight last night in the new Flight Simulator (Carlisle to West Freugh) was pretty much the same as yours'; total enjoyment from beginning to end. It was absolutely stunning flying over my home! Aren't we lucky to have so many simulators to choose from :-) Dominic
  9. Amazing shots....really well done! A good friend of mine (parish priest believe it or not), went on holiday to an excotic location a few years back, and on a postcard he sent, wrote the following... "Glad you're not here!" Gotta love him :-) Dom
  10. One thing is for certain though, Microsoft Flight Simulator has managed to capture the attention of a brand new audience (very much needed). For the hobby as a whole, this will benefit all of us (whatever sim you happen to use) for quite some time.
  11. Hi Rick, I'm sure it won't be long at all :-) Great image...love the sound of the the supercharger on the P-51! Cheers Dom
  12. Lovely shots David, I just love the 747. Falling asleep to the hum of an engine is somewhat therapeutic...unless you happen to be behind the wheel :-) Cheers Dom
  13. Thanks guys, it was fun sightseeing again...if only briefly :-) Cheers Dom
  14. Washington, D.C. Wifey and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Washington D.C. some years back, so I thought I would take a few quick snaps using the new Washington add-on by Drzewiecki Design. Suffice to say, I was very impressed and it brought back a lot of happy memories! Happy flying:D:pilot::D Dominic
  15. Staying on topic... As others have kindly mentioned, I wouldn't go higher than a 1660 Super or an RTX 2060 (for AMD, an RX 5600 XT, perhaps a 5700). Higher tier GPUs might give you a few additional frames per second, but they will be seriously hampered by your CPU; not to mention the fact, you'll be paying through the nose for the privilege.
  16. "Am I the only one still using (and liking) V4.5?" Not alone...I use it, plus X-Plane (excellent community). Dominic
  17. Chaps...let's keep this nice...we all enjoy the same thing :-) It's a good thread with clearly some very passionate views, so it would be a shame if we had to close it. Happy flying. Dominic
  18. You've obviously never played "No Man's Sky" then? To further my point; what about the continuous updates and improvements to X-Plane 11? Mark, from the get go your posts have been negative towards Flight Simulator 2020; you've never really given it a chance. The team and I are trying to promote something which we believe is truly special, and something which benefits everyone (even those using older versions of Flight Simulator). If you really can't see the bigger picture then that is a shame. Dominic
  19. Sorry some of you are having issues. From my own experience however (and the majority of the people I speak to), it's been nothing but a smooth and enjoyable ride; no major issues encountered. It's still early days, so for those of you who are having problems, my advice is to stick with it. Dominic
