  1. You are very correct about finding it 'complex' and even watching a Youtube video tutorial I had to concentrate even just to to set up the GLOBAL elevation data. Once I did I found that the non existing airport I mentioned in an earlier post had disappeared. I did also notice (in the video using version 2.6.4) that it doesn't support FS2020 SIDS and STARs although I downloaded version 2.6.7 so maybe that has been addressed. Well now to create a flight plan although I am yet to discover if it creates/exports flight plans for FS2020.
  2. I have installed little nav map and immediately noticed that it contains OLD nav data. For example it shows Schofields airport icao YSFS yet this airport has not existed for at least 20 years and even doesn't appear in FS2020. There are not even any remnants of runways as the area was covered in housing some time ago. Strangely it doesn't show the old Hoxton Park (icao YHOX) airport which also doesn't exist and closed in 2008, 12 years ago. I wonder there are other airports/navaids which either don't exist anymore but also ones which do exist and are not in little nav map. That led me to an error in FS2020. It shows an airport named Kingswood Park icao YKIS which has never existed and I should know as I have lived a short distance away for 40+ years. Also it is not at Airservices Australia web site (https://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/AeroProcChartsTOC.htm#K) and also a goggle search of YKIS finds NOTHING. I wonder where that came from?
  3. I had a suspicion that it might load automatically and will check that out - thanks.
  4. Thanks everyone. I have downloaded Little NavMap and will have a look at that later. I also downloaded quick ils and had a look - NICE. There is one problem from what I can see and that is if using 2020 in full screen mode how to you view the quick ils window? Slightly clumsy way of a quick exit of 2020 and on the face of it I wonder if it will be a lot faster (one less mouse click). I was hoping for a single key press like ALT + E or 'windows key' + E or similar. It would have been a lot nicer method to exit quickly.
  5. I have noticed that if I use the MSFS flight planner it often results in waypoints inserted which are different from those which Simbrief calculates and so I have the option of creating a flight plan from scratch or to use the MSFS2020 flight plan and remove waypoints and insert new ones. I have noticed that when clicking on and dragging the 'slider' on the right side that it tends to 'stick' to the mouse pointer and I have to click somewhere outside the 'box' to unattach it. Is this correct? Also when I add a new waypoint it doesn't seem to appear in the flight plan immediately - is there something I need to do? Also is there a method to lookup an ils frequency for a runway. I have watched a few video tutorials which do not show how the author obtained an ils frequency just how to enter it into NAV1. There are many ways to look up ils frequencies external to msfs2020 but thought there should be a lookup withing msfs2020. Lastly is there a quick way of exiting msfs2020 from say a flight back to the desktop instead of pressing the ESC key then selecting EXIT and then having to press the ESC key again and select EXIT to desktop.
  6. Thanks again Tim. I had found a video tutorial on creating keyboard profiles which I had followed without too much dramas but agree with the author that the method required to 'deassign' existing controls is a bit annoying. Anyway I got it done. I wonder if any thought has been given to updating 2020 so that keyboard profiles CAN be linked to specific aircraft? I guess if so then it would be near the bottom of the list as most simmers would probably fly the same aircraft all the time and therefore not have to remember to possibly have to change the keyboard profile when selecting a different aircraft.
  7. At last I tried your suggestion. Unfortunately it did NOT result in a pushback. The aircraft 'automatically' moved forward and hard left cutting the tug's operator in half with the starboard wing :(
  8. Thanks Tim. I remove/uninstalled the Beechcraft and then reinstalled it. I THINK it almost solved my 'problem' - see below. I also changed the assignment of the F1 and F2 keys to TOGGLE Throttle reverse (I note what you stated about throttle reverse detent) and TOGGLE Propeller reverse and tested. Firstly the pushback via ATC request although the tug does not initially line up with the nose wheel rather to the left and then proceeds (pity the operator and the spinning prop :( ) and then disappears for a split second and reappears connected to the nose wheel correctly and then pushes back. I bug needing correction I guess. Secondly the F2 key (toggle propeller reverse) now works but takes a few seconds to 'kick in' and the aircraft to begin going backwards. I also noted that the 'thrust' levers move backwards to the feather position at -15%. Anyway it now all works in a 'fashion' I was confused  with the terminology of the word HOLD previously but now decided on toggle anyway. Lastly (your thoughts please), I noted in a tutorial on how to (re)assign keyboard keys and the use of keyboard 'profiles' where the author suggested that it would be great to be able to 'link' a keyboard 'profile' to individual aircraft instead of having to remember to check and select relevant keyboard when starting. I see heaps of merit in that and hopefully it could be included in a future software update. Is there a 'wish list' somewhere to add such requests?
  9. OK FOUND IT. Content Manager is 'under' PROFILE. When I select the (aircraft) Beechcraft KingAir it displays - The following content is required to run properly -fs-base-propdefs-Required version 0.1.2. Is that just information or is it advising me that it is missing? If so how do I correct it? Also I see that I can remove the aircraft but how do I reinstall it later? Lastly I have created a new keyboard 'profile' and set reverse thrust as follows F1 (key) assigned to Hold Throttle Reverse Thrust F2 (key) assigned to Hold Propeller Reverse Thrust When I press the F1 key nothing happens When I press the F2 key it reverses but continues to reverse until I press F1 key. I thought that HOLD meant that the key had to be held down continually (and that toggle meant press once to start 'action', press again to stop 'action).
  10. I just tried using the Cessna Caravan aircraft and it following the ATC pushback 'commands' unlike the Beechcraft. If I can reinstall the Beechcraft I will and try it again.
  11. Thanks I cannot find how to uninstall and reinstall an aircraft eg 'content manager'. I googled 'content manager' and found “Official Content” menu in the “Marketplace”. When I select 'marketplace' I do not see 'official content'. Please explain. I have now downloaded the pushback helper (thanks for the url) and will try that later. Yes I have tried shift p and that works in a sort of way just like you described but I guess it ended in a pushback. When I attempt to pushback using ATC 'controls' it just won't work and so I have to assume it is a bug and hopefully will be 'addressed' some day. All the same I find it strange that the author of the video seemed to be able to 'control' the pushback using the ATC 'calls'. I will see if there is any improvement once I figure out how to uninstall and reinstalled the Beechcraft. In the meantime I will try another small aircraft and see what happens.
  12. Thanks. At least I now know that it isn't something I am doing wrong although it is annoying. That still leaves me with a problem how to depart from a gate/ramp which requires the aircraft to go backwards as I would use reverse thrust to move backwards if I could get it to work. I wonder how the author of the video got the pushback to work correctly. Maybe he was just lucky (he was using the same aircraft at the same airport as I used). Also it would be great if someone could develop and addon the same as the Betterpushback plugin for X-Plane to take the guesswork out of how much to turn the aircraft during pushback and end position at end of pushback. Hopefully in time.
  13. Thanks but it was not a case of having to wait while the tug drives around. At first the tug did not line up with the nosewheel and drove UNDER the aircraft right through a spinning prop. Another time the tug moved to a position closer to the aircraft and then just stopped and did not move again. I have not had any problems with pushback of an A320 and so wondered if it is a 'hit and miss' with small aircraft - maybe (dare I say) a BUG?
  14. After many many attempts and even watching a Youtube tutorial video ( )I cannot get the pushback tug to hook up with my Beechcraft and push back. I even selected the same departure airport (MMUN) as used in the Youtube video in case there was some problem with my departure airport of choice and still it will not pushback. I start engines, alternators on, select ATC, request clearance and acknowledge, set transponder code and active, rqeuest taxi and acknowledge (exactly as per the video) and then ground services. That's where it all goes 'pear shaped', Firstly the tug lined up to the right of the nose wheel and ended up under that aircraft. I stopped pushback and tried again. This time the tug would not even attempt to connect with the nosewheel. What am I doing wrong which the author o the video does correctly? I cannot just taxi foward otherwise I will have a dismembered pushback tug operator! I thought then I should reverse the aircraft using reverse thrust. I press the F2 key (brake is released) - the aircraft does not move. I then drag the throttles back into the -15% reverse position but the aircraft still refuses to move. Once again what am I doing that is incorrect?
  15. Thanks again Tim With reference to keyboard command for fuel truck and pushback. Is that 'controlled' by whether or not the airport has a fuel truck and/or pushback tug or will they appear regardless? Lastly regarding reverse thrust (steveboston). I assumed the keyboard command is the same as in FSX ie F2 key, and in fact when I pressed F2 the throttles moved backwards as expected however - The pitch levers did not operated and The beechcraft did not move backwards (yes the handbrake was OFF)
  16. Thanks loki I signed out and back in and that fixed the incorrect gamertag problem. I also changed the settings so that it doesn't automatically startup on bootup.
  17. Thanks Tim I selected Microsoft Store (from programs list). It displayed that XBOX was installed. I clicked on the 3 dots (top right) and then selected 'downloads and updates' then clicked on 'Get Updates' and waited until finished. XBOX app still shows an incorrect Gamertag. I then rebooted my PC to see if that would make a change but it didn't. Really STUPID. Do I really need this app? What does it do for me? Maybe I should just remove it.
  18. Well I think I just disproved my theory of no call for pushback with ground services because it is a very small airport without a tower. I chose YSSY (Sydney as a departure) and a relevant 'ramp'. I selected (atc) ground services and the only ones listed were call fuel truck and one other I can'r remember. Nothing for pushback. Is there EVER a selection in ATC 'ground services' to call a pushback? Maybe only for large aircraft like the A320? And if so is this a BUG? The actual pushback tug is always displayed on startup.
  19. Thanks Tim. Problem with that is there already is a small tug complete with driver standing on the back positioned close to the Beechcraft as soon as the flight' starts'. The coloquial 'penny dropped' when thinking about it. At the departure airport there is no 'comms'/atc only a 'centre' and I assume that a centre not located at the airport would not be in contact with ground services such as the pushback. Is that correct? Am I 'on the money'? I will try the reverse thrust later but expect it to work. Thanks to you both,
  20. Thanks Tim Strange that while watching Youtube videos I am sure I saw that the pushback was 'controlled' via the ATC window. Could it also be that if I want to reverse the aircraft on the ground I have to select reverse thrust rather than trying via the 'pitch' levers?
  21. Thanks tiger. Well it's crazy. I enabled Xbox to start on boot using task manager and rebooted my PC and it starts. It displays a different 'gamertag' than the one I changed it to a few weeks ago. When I select change gamertag it then displays my current gamertag - how stupid is that! Also I don't see any icon which looks like a shopping bag with windows logo on it. If I select GENERAL I can then set 'startup settings' such as automatic launch app at startup, launch app in background, etc. Am I on the right planet
  22. I am trying to learn how to fly this lovely aircraft. I have no problems powering up the engines etc etc but when I am ready to depart the parking spot I choose at AeroPelican airport there is only one direction I can go and that is REVERSE as there is a building in front of the aircraft. Firstly I cannot work out how to call for a pushback tug. I have the ATC window open and there is an option GROUND SERVICES but when I select it there is nothing. I then considered applying reverse thrust (yes I know not a good thing) but pulling the Power levers back fully and/or pulling the RPM levers back fully (do these levels adjust pitch?) and then applying some power only makes the aircraft go forward. How are both achieved? Thanks
  23. It seems that this one needs to go into the "too hard basket"?
