FS98 Hansa Brandenburg W.-29 Floatplane

FS98 Hansa Brandenburg W.-29 Floatplane. Civil, unarmed, post-war sports version of the 1918 Hansa-Brandenburg W.29, flown in Denmark in 1920, owned possibly by the Danish Coastguard. German Military versions served in the closing months of World War I, from bases on the North Sea coast. The floatplane was powered by one 150 Hp Benz Bz.III 6-cyl water-cooled in-line piston engine, and had a top speed of 164 kph (89 Kt), although a few units had different motorizations. 199 units were built. It was agile and uncomplicated to operate, and with two forward firing Spandau machineguns and one dorsal Parabellum, it was much feared by Allied seaplanes, ships, submarines and torpedo boats. FS98 Lockheed Jetstar-I. Introduced in 1961, the Lockheed Jetstar was the first business, luxury executive transport aircraft, accommodating a crew of 2 and 8-10 passengers. 164 units were built. It was powered by four 3,300 lbf thrust Pratt & Whitney JT12A-8 turbojet engines, with a top speed of 478 knots. In 1976, Lockheed built a further 40 upgraded units powered by turbofan engines, and Garrett converted an additional 61 to JetStar 731 configuration. By the turn of the century, over 100 Jetstars were still flying Original AFX by Eric Johnson, re-worked and updated for FS98 with rounder fuselage, engines and slipper tanks, 3D animated landing gear and completely textured. It represents the avant-guarde in passenger comfort and operating efficiency, boasting a fuel consumption which is 20 percent lower than any other aircraft in its class, and its graceful, elegant lines are an aesthetic accomplishment in itself. FS98 FBA Type "C" Flying Boat, 1916. Originally based on the 1914 Donnet-Leveque Type "A" flying boat, the FBA Type "C" flying boat was built in 1916 by Louis Schreck of Franco-British Aviation. It was equipped with a 130 Hp Clerguet 9B rotary engine, with a top speed was 59 knots (87 mph). Over 300 units were built. They were used extensively during the first half of WWI, for coastal and anti-sumbmarine patrol in the North Sea, armed with a Vickers MG in the nose. FS98 Dornier Seastar Amphibious Flying Boat. The Dornier Seastar is 6-12-passenger parasol-wing amphibious flying boat, built by the Dornier Seaplane Company, now Dornier Seawings, using largely composite materials, and has recently entered series production for 50 units. It is powered by two P&W Canada 650 shp flat rated P&W Canada PT6A-135A Turboprops in push-pull configuration similar to the 1935 Dornier Do-18, and has a top continuous speed of 180 knots, with exceptional on-the-water manoueverability and performance. Water and land versions are provided, in two liveries each, corresponding to units D-ICKS and D-ISEA. Included also, are .AFX, .PCX and .R8 source files. Turboprop performance in FS98 jet .air file with guidance from Andre Lederer. High quality textures by Udo Entenmann. By Stephan Scholz.
