FS98 Tristar RAF K1 Tanker Plus Re-Fuelling EF2000 Typhoon. Marshall Aerospace converted nine L1011-500 TriStars as Air Tankers for the RAF, with a fuel capacity of 300,000 lbs. They were powered by two Rolls-Royce RB.211-524B high-bypass turbofan engines with 50,000 flb thrust each, giving a cruising speed of 483 knots, and were in service from 1986 to 2014. Model based on original 2/99 FFDS AFX by Eric Nabstedt, re-worked with 12-sided fuselage, engines and wheels, new wheeldoors, turbine, gear and flap animation, and rear under-fuselage refuelling hose housing. FS98 Pegasus-XL Booster Rocket. The Pegasus-XL Satellite Launching Vehicle is a 3-stage solid fuel booster rocket, launched at 39000 ft altitude from the Lockheed L-1011-100 "Stargazer" mothership, to place satellites into low earth orbit. The rocket model in this release is flyable in FS98, for high-altitude atmospheric flight. It employs the 1st stage 132400 flb thrust Orion 50 SXL rocket motor, which in reality brings the Pegasus XL to a speed of about 4900 kt at 179000 ft altitude. In FS98, the Pegasus XL Booster model is capable of controllable flight upto 2644 kt at approximately 110,000 ft altitude, which are the speed and altitude limits of FS98 operation. When flying the Stargazer with Pegasus XL Booster, you can switch to this model to emmulate launching and flying the Pegasus XL Booster Rocket at 39000 ft.
