  4. FSX USAAF PT-17 Stearman N38940

FSX USAAF PT-17 Stearman N38940. This is a repaint only, for the payware Vertigo Studios Stearman Vol.1 set. This repaint depicts the restored Stearman PT-17 N38940, owned/operated by Paul Bennett, based at Priory Farm, Norfolk, England. The aircraft was manufactured as USAAF 41-8263, and from 1941 until February 1944 the aircraft was used continually, despite being involved in 4 separate training accidents, with a 5th accident taking it out of service althogether. The remains of the aircraft were restored, with the aircraft first flying again in 1977, and later, sold to Paul Bennett in 1992, the aircraft was restored again, to factory-original award-winning condition and finished in the same all-silver color scheme it would have had in 1944. The contrast between the metal and fabric surfaces on this aircraft is period-authentic, as although the fabric surfaces were coated in silver dope, the metal panels were anodized and left bare. Two versions of the repaint are included, with one featuring the temporary 445th Bomb Group tail markings the aircraft sported in 2006. By John Terrell.

  21. FSX Fokker Vintage Propliners

FSX Fokker Vintage Propliners. The Fokker FVII was, in its various versions, the most successful European airliner of the decade between 1925 and 1935, and had also considerable success in the USA. The three-engined Fokker FVIIa/3m appeared soon after the first Fokker trimotor was, in fact, the second FVIIa built. The FVIIa/3m was mainly sold in America after winning the Ford Reliability Tour of 1925. The Fokker F.XII trimotor was much larger than the well-known FVIIb/3m. KLM had 8, and the associated company KNILM 2, two F.XII's. This mega pack features three different Fokker models and six very detailed liveries deigned by Jens B, Kristensen. However, all the panels have been remodeled and enhanced and the FDE has been modified to function properly in FSX Acceleration. Thanks to Jens B. Kristensen for his original models, to Mauele Villa and Maarten Brouwer for some of the repaints and to Erwin Welker for the added camera views. New panel, FDE modifications as well as smoke effect by Michael Pook.
