  2. FSX P-51D Mustang "Frenesi" N357FG V2

FSX P-51D Mustang "Frenesi" N357FG V2. This is a repaint for the payware Warbirdsim P-51D "Mustang Tales" product. This is a new and vastly improved/updated version of my previous repaint, depicting the restored P-51D (F-6K) 44-12852, owned by Dan Friedkin/Comanche Fighters, based at Comanche Ranch, Eagle Pass, Texas. The aircraft is painted in the markings of General Tommy Hayes' P-51D-5-NA "Frenesi", of the 364th FS, 357th FG, 8th AF, which was named after the 1940 Artie Shaw tune. Starting in 2009, this aircraft was sent to Midwest Aero Restorations for restoration to complete WWII-stock condition/configuration, and first flew in January 2017. This repaint is stand-alone and does not require my previous version to be installed. New bump maps and modified cockpit textures included. By John Terrell.

  8. FSX Update For The Heinkel P-1079 Prototype

FSX Update For The Heinkel P-1079 Prototype. This was the second design for the He P.1079B all-weather heavy fighter. The wings were swept back sharply and contained six fuel tanks. A crew of two sat back-to-back in the cockpit, and armament was to be four MK 108 30mm cannon. No evidence has been found that the P.1079 projects were ever submitted to the RLM, but it is known that designer Siegfried Günter, along with his engineers Eichner and Hohbach, were working on these designs under U.S. supervision during the summer of 1945. This is an FSX update for the He-1079, originally designed for FS2002 by Stephen Robinson and updated for FSX by Keith Hackett in 2010. This new update features a new gauge configuration for the VC and a 2D panel has been added as well, both with now all German authentic gauges. Furthermore, smoke, burner effect and new camera views have been added also. The new livery (green camo) has been made by myself. Thanks to Steve Robinson for the original model, to Keith Hackett for the earliar FSX update, to Hauke Keitel for most of the gauges and to Mark Cranston for the sound. New 2D panel and gauge configuration, new livery and smoke and burner effect as well as additional camera views by Michael Pook.

  9. FSX Update For The Focke Wulf TA-283

FSX Update For The Focke Wulf TA-283. The Focke-Wulf Ta 283 was a German swept-wing ramjet-powered interceptor aircraft during World War II. The project was developed at the same time as the Focke-Wulf Super Lorin and remained unbuilt before the surrender of Nazi Germany. This is an FSX update for the TA-283, originally designed for FS2002 by Stephen Robinson. Amazingly, the aircraft works perfectly in FSX, but this update features both a revised VC and 2D panel with all German authentic gauges as well as corrected smoke and new burner effect and additional camera views. Thanks to Steve Robinson for the awesome original model, to Hauke Keitel for the Kedi gauges, to the unknown designers of the other great gauges and to Erwin Welker for the camera views. New panel and effect configuration by Michael Pook.

  10. FSX Update For The Henschel HSP-87 Prototype

FSX Update For The Henschel HSP-87 Prototype. This project was Henschel's design for a fast bomber to be powered by a single 2200 horsepower Daimler Benz DB 610 engine. A "Entenbauform" (built like a duck) design was used, with the tail in front and the wing to the rear. Vertical fins were located at the wingtips. The cockpit was in the forward fuselage with accomodations for a crew of three or four. The prototype construction was not begun, and the further development of tail-first aircraft was not pursued due to lengthy development time and design cost. This is an FSX update for the HSP-87, originally designed for FS2004 by Stephen Robinson. The aircraft works perfectly in FSX, but this update features a new 2D panel, smoke effect and additional camera views. Thanks to Steve Robinson for the awesome original model. New 2D panel, smoke configuration and additional camera views by Michael Pook.

  11. FSX Heinkel P-1079A Nightfighter Updated

FSX Heinkel P-1079A Nightfighter Updated. In 1945, the German Air Ministry requested new designs for a new generation of jet fighters such as the Horten Ho 229 and Focke Wulf Ta 183. One of these designs was the Heinkel He P.1079. The initial design, known as the P.1079A, was a V-tail night fighter with wings that featured a 35 degree sweepback. The second and third designs were flying wings with a single vertical fin which replaced the V-tail of the P.1079A. The P.1079.B2 was a completely tailless flying wing. None of the three designs were ever produced, with development work ceasing at the end of World War II. This is an update of the Nightfighter, originally designed by Andreas Becker. The focus of this update lies upon the panels, now featuring mostly German gauges to give them a more authentic appearance, being that this aircraft was a German design. In adition, the VC has been entirely reworked and now contains some more gauges. All credits go to Andreas Becker for the original model, new panel updates by Michael Pook. Model may also run in FS2004.

  19. FSX P-51D Mustang "Frenesi" N357FG

FSX P-51D Mustang "Frenesi" N357FG. This is a repaint for the payware Warbirdsim P-51D "Mustang Tales" product. This repaint depicts the latest Mustang restoration to emerge from Midwest Aero Restorations, completely stock, which just had its first test flight from Danville, Illinois on January 30th. The aircraft is F-6K 44-12852 (restored as a P-51D), owned/operated by Dan Friedkin/Comanche Fighters, based in Texas. Sold surplus immediately following WWII, registered as NX66111, the aircraft was entered into the 1946 Cleveland Air Races as racer #80 "Full House", but its engine blew and was forced to crash-land. Later, the aircraft was sold to Jack Hardwick in the early 50's and crudely rebuilt, with a jump seat and rudimentary dual controls installed in the back of the cockpit, and would soon be sold onto the Dominican Air Force in 1954, becoming FAD 1900 (#2). The aircraft served with the Dominican AF until it was sold and imported back into the US by Brian O'Farrell in 1984. Made serviceable, the aircraft flew again on the US register as N21023 by 1990, and was sold to Jim Beasley Sr. and later owned/operated by Jim Beasley Jr., of Coatesville, PA (sharing hangar space with their P-51D "Bald Eagle"). During this time the aircraft was painted as "Frenesi", the personal mount of WWII 357th Fighter Group ace Gen. Tommy Hayes (the name inspired from a 1940 Artie Shaw tune). By the early 2000's, showing the effects of poor-quality work done on repairing/restoring the aircraft in the past, a complete rebuild of the airframe began. By 2009, the project was sold to Dan Friedkin, now registered as N357FG, and the restoration was continued at Midwest Aero Restorations, known for their award-winning authentic Mustang rebuilds. The aircraft has now emerged in early 2017, resplendent and flying again in the markings of "Frenesi". By John Terrell.

This upgrade, dedicated to Fred and Harold Panton, is for the Plane-Design MkVII Just Jane Lancaster at East Kirkby to FSX was made possible by Jeff Lind who had the xml skills and interest to build a working flight engineer's panel using all six Lancaster wing tanks. The documentation provides an insight into the full use of the flight engineer's panel. It is suggested simmers fly this aircraft in the same way as the previously uploaded BBMF Lancasters in wide view aspect. After all it is a precious aircraft that is treated with care in the real world so why not the sim? Additional guages and updates to existing Plane-Design gauges by Jeff Lind. Trim gauges by Ted Cook. Lancaster 2015 paint by Koos van Menen of The Netherlands with the original Plane-Design paint adjusted for FSX by Ross McLennan. 23. FSX P-51D Mustang "Tall-in-the-Saddle"

FSX P-51D Mustang "Tall-in-the-Saddle". This is a repaint pack for both the payware Warbirdsim P-51D "Restored Part 2" and "Mustang Tales" products. This repaint depicts the restored P-51D-20-NA 44-72035, owned/operated by Peter Teichman as part of the Hangar 11 Collection. Through documentation and evidence presented on the aircraft, it is known to have been sent to the Mediterranean Theatre in early 1945 and assigned to the 15th Air Force, 332nd Fighter Group (better known as the Tuskegee Airmen). After the war, the aircraft was sent back to the US and was active with USAF and ANG units from 1947 until 1953. Sold surplus in 1957, the aircraft passed through a number of civilian owners, eventually restored after 1988 and becoming known as "Jumpin' Jacques". Peter Teichman acquired the aircraft in 2002. Although little of anything is known of the aircraft's actual wartime history, Peter Teichman set about researching a potential 332nd FG paint scheme to apply to the aircraft, and in the spring of 2016 had the aircraft repainted into the authentic markings of "Tall-in-the Saddle", a Mustang that was assigned to the 99th Fighter Squadron and piloted by Lt. George Hardy. Alive and well, living in Florida, and having been a source for information and photos to accurately recreate the paint scheme, George Hardy was invited over and traveled to England in September where he was a guest of honor, reunited with "his" airplane again. (Included with this repaint pack is an updated version of this aircraft's previous paint scheme, "Jumpin' Jacques", for both products). By John Terrell.

  24. FSX Seafire F46 Update

FSX Seafire F46 Update. This is an update for FSX of the Seafire F46 by A.F. Scrub. I have added a trim gauge and a nav/GPS switch to the panel and centered the gun sight on the VC for the guns effects using the views section in the aircraft.cfg file. I changed the size and position of the GPS and made the radios bigger and easier to see. I corrected the contact points and the engine position, etc. and updated the flight dynamics. I took out the off-set invisible drop tank that gave it a built in right turn. This update includes the under wing texture fix. Done in FSX, may not work in FS2004. By Bob Chicilo.

FSX BBMF Lancasters 6 Fuel Tank Update. This upgrade of the DB70 Part 3 BBMF Lancasters was made possible by Jeff Lind who had the xml skills and interest to build a working Flight Engineers Panel using all six Lancaster wing tanks. The Lancasters (3) have been set up to simulate, as near as possible, the discusion I had with Flight Lieutenant Tim Dunlop, the BBMF Bomber Leader and Pilot of Lancaster "Thumper III" (KC-A), during a visit to Coningsby on Members Day 2015. The documentation provides an insight into how the BBMF Lancaster is flown in the modern day real world and I request simmers at least try to SIMULATE. Intended for FLYING in Wide View Aspect.
