  1. That is pretty cool to see lots of sky! That air conditioner is in a good spot to cool the room and kill some of the heat produced by the monitors!
  2. I often wondered about the same fact hearing geese in flight at night squawking away. Didn’t know that about their eyesight!
  3. Great to be able to recognize some TO buildings downtown! Well planned views!
  4. The G3000 in the TBM930 is a very crude replica in the sim. Now where near real life in the sim, but auto land is amazing technology when you really need it.
  5. Yes, they definitely need to turn up the water effects! We know it can be done!
  6. Sorry to hear about specific problems and unsatisfying experiences. I have only flown the TBM930 in the sim and I use a Thrustmaster T16000m that was plug and play without any adjustments for sensitivity. I have also programmed many of the buttons to features that I prefer for my flying. I also use the real world ForeFlight app with the sim. The parameters programmed into ForeFlight for the TBM930 match the sim precisely. All the main read outs in the sim match the calculations done by ForeFlight on the ground and during flight. Since I have never flown the TBM in real life, I am in no way able to comment on the accuracy of the flight characteristics. I will say that the performance of the Pratt & Whitney PT6 responds like the videos I have studied. Just now working on a combined RNAV and VFR flight video into Courchevel and the autopilot is working flawlessly. So I know it is unfortunate that some are at wits end with this sim, but I have to believe the setup is just not correct for those having problems.
  7. Yes, there have been several articles written on this issue. You are certainly not alone. Best of luck with your rig!
  8. I have to say, I was in the same boat hoping to use my Sidewinder. Requires a lot of set-up and in the end it really was not ideal (knowing how it works with perfection in the other sims). Finally managed to get a new joystick (Thrustmaster T16000m) and it was like night and day compared to the Sidewinder in this sim. The sim recognizes the T16000 and it was plug and play without changing a single setting. Best of luck.
  9. Wow! I go back a long way in this community. Glad to be a part of such a dynamic community! Cheers everyone!
  10. What a tremendous contribution and link with the flight sim community. A real sense of accomplishment with a very authoritative content. Congrats Ted!

Great work! You are a busy guy!
  12. Great to see these pictures from Turkey! The world really is spectacular in this sim!
  13. I gave up on the Microsoft Sidewinder trying to map sensitivity etc. It will not be optimal. Try and get a joystick the sim recognizes. I now have the Thrustmaster T16000M and it was plug and play with no adjustments and works perfectly. As for the downloading, not sure what is going on there, especially since it was installed and you played the sim. Are you sure it is not trying to install the updates. There have been 2 updates since the initial release. The second patch was quite extensive.
  14. The GeForce 2080ti does run the sim at 4K smoothly. You will get a few more frames with the 3080, but not significant to visual smoothness. I have the RTX 2080ti that is running an LG 34” monitor (5K x 2K) and using my screen recording to capture at 4K to make videos. The sim is very smooth with frame rates in the mid 30’s when recording. Remember that screen recording also pulls from system resources. You can check my latest 4K video here to evaluate.
  15. My first video with Microsoft’s Flight Simulator. This is a VFR flight that takes about 15 minutes with flight instructions provided.
  16. Great stuff! Nice tour. Still need to visit Telluride in the new sim!
  17. Very relaxing! Always great to see the Grand Canyon! I hiked down the West Ridge about 10 years ago. Remember being so hot and swimming in Havasu Falls at the bottom to cool down.
