  1. Further to Bud's great advice, there's a series of 9 tutorial videos for the A310 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ka-S-3wBRBo&list=PLHHNa7e7hf9NWlA69jXQ-xzU2IuawCdd7
  2. Has your antivirus program quarantined them?
  3. PAE could be for KPAE - Paine (or Snohomish County) airport, SEA could be for Seattle airport.
  4. Thank you guys, the Aurora Borealis add-on is the best I've seen in a sim (and I've seen the real thing in Norway) but the Corvalis needs some TLC...
  5. Aurora Borealis by South Oak Co, featuring the Cessna TTx Corvalis by Sim Federation:
  6. I've just had this too! I fixed it by following these instructions on the Zendesk FAQ's pages: UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL GAMING SERVICES VIA POWERSHELL Reinstall the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10/11 device: Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator. In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter: get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers In the same window, type the following command and press Enter: start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Restart your device and try to install the game again.
  7. Ctrl+E doesn't work on all MSFS aircraft, especially the airliners which have more realistic startup procedures. You can find several "How to operate..." guides here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/msfs/official-tips-troubleshooting/395 The zoom views are now Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+0 instead of Shift+1 etc. You can download the keyboard commands guide here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/reference-keyboard-shortcuts-guide/167151 You'll need to calibrate your Hotas X for MSFS, there's a very good guide here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/how-to-calibrate-your-joystick-yoke/129335
  8. Press keyboard F11, or click on the F11 - Save button on the bottom left of your screen - you might have to scroll down to see it.
  9. +1 - I have a 65mbps service and I've only had an "offline mode" error 5 or 6 times in 3 years - I think it was because the bandwidth went below 30mbps. Re-booting the router fixed the issue every time. As a matter of interest, I think the MSFS offline scenery looks like the Orbx FSX scenery, it's pretty good - but not a patch on the online photoscenery we're taking for granted now.
  10. I have an Xbox account, all it needs is an email address and password. No personal details at all. You guys know more about me than Xbox does, here's my Xbox account profile:
  11. MSFS ATC will calculate your descent rate based on your climb rate. I found that 2000fpm was normal for the TBM in climb and descent.
  12. I think this FSX Screenshots thread has somehow got into the MSFS2020 Screenshots forum - I'm sure it's purely accidental and absolutely not the fault of the noble and expert airman in question...
  13. Where this happens, in real life you would be vectored by ATC to the first point of the approach but MSFS can't do this and so it *should* insert a 'MANSEQ' (manual sequence) waypoint instead. It can also happen in SID's, where you would be vectored by ATC to the first waypoint of your ENR (enroute) segment. I've just done an IFR-only tour around Europe and the eastern Mediterranean in the TBM (below) and I just selected the next waypoint after the MANSEQ and activated Direct To.
  14. I found a similar issue on the official forums, this one was caused by an errant keyboard profile: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/right-alt-click-panel-pop-out-no-longer-works/512392
  15. In the General Options\Accessibility\User Interface menu, switch INSTRUMENT NAME TOOLTIPS to Off and don't forget to click Save at the bottom left of the screen!
  16. You're 100% right Bud, the more info you can put into the FMC, the more you'll get out of it. Any field which can be filled in, you should try to fill in. A large part of the FMC's function is as a weighing scales, basically, and this data tells the autopilot how to fly the plane to use the minimum amount of fuel at all stages of the flight.

    Runaway prop rpm

The HS.748 is a turboprop so the 9394 rpm is turbine rpm, while the prop 'speed' will be indicated on the torque gauges in percent.
  18. If this is after following the sim repair instructions, and still with an empty Community folder, the next step is to delete the sim's aircraft avionics data like we did with the rolling cache - the sim will automatically download the avionics data on restart as if it was an official update. This will avoid having to delete and re-install the whole sim: Navigate to your AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore folder and delete the fs-base-aircraft-common folder. Restart the sim and download the update - it will be mandatory anyway, and we can then be sure that this data is uncorrupted.
  19. Let's try a sim repair. First of all, delete your rolling cache file in: AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache - the file name is ROLLINGCACHE.CCC. Then go to your Start menu and select Settings\Apps\Installed Apps\Microsoft Flight Simulator - click on the three dots and select Advanced options. Scroll down to the Reset section and click on Repair. When a tick appears next to the Repair button, restart MSFS and a new, clean ROLLINGCACHE.CCC file will be created automatically.
  20. This is sounding like a control sensitivity issue or possibly a control assignment conflict - Try increasing the dead zone to at least 10% on your aileron and rudder axis, you might have a chattering potentiometer in the yoke or pedals. Also check your Autopilot control assignments. Change the filter on the left from 'Assigned' to 'All' and check the keyboard and Honeycomb assignments for duplicates/conflicts.
  21. Do you have any Working Title mods in your Community folder? These should all be deleted now, because they will conflict with the latest default sim versions.
  22. Silly question: Have you switched the CDI mode from NAV1 to GPS? There are a number of useful guides on the official forums: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/how-to-operate-garmin-g1000-avionics/593427

    Runaway prop rpm

I've been futzing with the aircraft.cfg and .air files for almost 20 years now and I have to agree with you. MSFS2020 has actually simplified this diabolical state of affairs by eliminating the .air file, and good riddance! The best tool for adjusting .air files that I have ever used (and still do) is AirWrench. It's payware (from Flight1), it has a steep learning curve, and it only does half the job - which is to set all the tables for you automatically. The fine tuning is done mainly in the aircraft.cfg file. It really is trial and error to begin with, but if you persevere you'll get a 'feel' for what needs adjusting and where after a while. A top tip for you - create a .air file which is empty except for the aircraft title: this is all that AirWrench needs to populate all the other parameters from the aircraft.cfg file. Regarding the Cirrus Jet you mentioned, it's a center of gravity issue combined with an elevator effectiveness issue - go get AirWrench and have at it!
  24. Thanks for the screenshot, a picture really is worth a thousand words! With the External Camera settings selected in your options, change the Filter on the left menu from Assigned to All and search for these assignments: I have my right and left views reversed because I'm a freak...
