  1. Have you tried turning the rolling cache back on? It is used for much more than storing scenery files. The default size is 8gb which works fine on my system.
  2. Well said ViperPilot2 - fps is the bees knees in shooter games, but absolutely not in flight sim.
  3. If this is happening with a default aircraft and default scenery, try deleting your rolling cache file in: AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache Then re-launch the sim, which will create a new local cache file automatically.
  4. Welcome and Season's Greetings Jeffersxbox! You can find some excellent tutorial videos on Youtube for all aspects of MSFS, the guides by Squirrel are highly recommended for beginners: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbphwhPw2JuvwwsD-H3xoxmb4PUbCyZen
  5. If this freeze is happening in the same area with different aircraft, any add-on scenery you have for that area will be to blame. If I add Gatwick airport to my sim, freeware or payware, I get a sim freeze or CTD if I go anywhere near Gatwick after that.
  6. Ah, that's only available on the Xbox version. Xbox has a feature called instant resume.
  7. In the keyboard settings you can assign P to toggle Pause ON, and Ctrl+P to toggle Pause OFF.
  8. Read through the instructions on this web page and then click the download link in orange.
  9. The figures will turn red because you've exceeded the Maximum Take Off Weight (MTOW) for that aircraft. Weight and Balance are two separate issues, but they are closely linked in aircraft.
  10. 1. Are LEMAC and TEMAC useful when FWD and AFT limits are shown already? Leading Edge and Trailing Edge MAC are the FWD and AFT limits. 2. How come there are no LEFT and RIGHT limits as there are for FWD and AFT? Left or Right weight imbalance can be compensated for by rudder and/or aileron trim - that's what they there for. 3. Are CG limits usually posted in the pilot operating handbooks? Yes. 4. Are there two-seater planes which can't be flown without a passenger? No. Ballast is used in several forms; in two-seater competition gliders for example it's water which can be jettisoned if required. 5. Are there FAA rules against flying off-center? Fore and Aft, absolutely. You can lose your license and your liberty for causing an accident due to this.
  11. Also, using Microsoft Edge browser, right-click on the picture and select "Search the web for image" - this is the result:
  12. Is it the default EGPF, a freeware mod, or a payware product? If it's the default, then the approaches should be fine and this could be an issue with the A310 itself.
  13. I don't own the A310 but a quick search of the MSFS official forums brought up this link to the Inibuilds A310 forum & FAQ's page: https://forum.inibuilds.com/forum/270-faqs/ This includes information on how to import Simbrief flight plans into the A310 FMC, which might fix your EGPF approaches.
  14. Navigraph don't provide data for the A310 FMC, it uses the default World Map data which CAN be updated with a Navigraph subscription.
  15. None of the aircraft made for earlier sims will work in MSFS, it's a totally different program. There is some good advice on running fs2004 in Windows 11 on the fs2004 forum.
  16. Switch from NAV to HDG mode on the autopilot panel and dial in your required heading with the selector knob.
  17. Feelthere's Embraer 145 for P3D won't work in MSFS (fs2020) - the only planes which WILL work in MSFS are those which have been specifically made for MSFS - if you're only interested in the 145, forget MSFS and go for P3Dv4 instead.
  18. Aha! If the switch can't be moved there's probably a control assignment conflict - a button or switch on your controller(s) is conflicting with the keyboard command for example.
  19. Are you sure that you have no liveries or other mods installed for the G36 and G58?
  20. Did you do any of the other steps before running the DISM file?
  21. My apologies, right-click on the .bat file and select Run as adminstrator.
  22. That part looks like either an airway number or a waypoint identifier to me.
  23. Are you sure your system AND your sim are fully up to date? Try checking in Microsoft Store for updates, also in Windows update and install all updates listed. Then check in MSFS Content Manager for any updates and install all of those. If there are no updates, or the updates have made no difference, try these steps: Delete the ROLLINGCACHE.CCC file located in: AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache The sim will create a new one on it's next reboot. I do this almost every day (I'm forever tweaking and breaking the darn thing). Next, if you're on Windows 11, go to your Start menu, Apps, Installed apps, and scroll down to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Click the three dots on the far right and select Advanced options. Scroll down to the Reset section and click the Repair button. Reboot the sim. If the clear cache & sim repair has made no difference, try this Windows 11 repair batch file created by "N6722C" on the MSFS official forums: Copy and paste the below lines into Notepad, save the file type as All files (*.*) and name it DISM.bat echo off cls echo ##################################### echo # REPAIR MSFS by N6722C # echo ##################################### echo on echo (1 of 6) Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth rem pause echo ----------------------------------------- echo (2 of 6) Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth rem pause echo ----------------------------------------- echo (3 of 6) Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth rem pause echo ------------------------------------------ echo (4 of 6) sfc /scannow rem pause echo ------------------------------------------ echo (5 of 6) Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore rem pause echo ------------------------------------------ echo (6 of 6) Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup echo . echo ##################################### echo # --- FINISHED ----- # echo ##################################### pause Double-click the batch file to launch it, it should take about 30 minutes to run. I run this batch file at least once a month because it's well worth doing - I've set a monthly reminder in my Outlook Calendar. Hopefully one or more of these steps will fix the AP/black screen errors for you.
