  1. Hi, did you quit & relaunch the sim? Regards Steve
  2. Hi Dan, It’s really easy to fly in “easy mode” - in fact it’s quite hard to crash LOL. if you take your hands off the controls for instance, it pretty much stops in mid air. I must admit I haven’t flown it in a while but I certainly enjoyed it in ( in VR) I made this clip a while back.. (The map I’m using is SimEFB & isn’t part of the B47) Regards Steve
  3. There are some similar posts on the official forum. Hopefully this will help.. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/your-game-license-cannot-be-authenticated-issue-upon-starting-msfs/470693 Regards Steve
  4. Hi, Go into options / assistance options and click the USER EXPERIENCE tab. Scroll down to “instrument heads-up display - cockpit cam” and change it to OFF Then apply & save Regards Steve
  5. Welcome back Dave :) I tried X-plane a few months back after upgrading my graphics card. I think I gave it about 5 minutes before quitting and uninstalling it LOL One thing I’ll mention.. there’s a little bug at the moment with VR.. if you’ve got a map open in the sim….the weather options screen..your rudder or throttle may stop working while your mouse/cursor is over said item. I’ve crashed several times this week as a result. I now know the cause and how to avoid it. Apparently it will be fixed with SU8 I don’t know if you are aware ( I wasn’t) but nvidia have released some new drivers. I’ve installed them and changed my settings slightly, as per “VR Flight Sim Guy” and the sim is working better than ever! Regards Steve
  6. Hi, assuming all you did to add the scenery was to place it into your community folder (no actual installation) then you’ve done it correctly. You simply remove it from the community folder. I take it..you then exited and restarted the sim? If the fps is still low then you could try deleting the rolling cache (assuming it’s enabled).go into the options/general settings and click the Data tab. Scroll down and you should see rolling cache. You should also see “delete rolling cache file” Again, quit the sim and restart it.. and see if that fixes things. I’d probably be tempted to reboot the pc too. What sort of fps were you getting over Sydney before you installed the addon? Depending on your computer spec you may struggle in built up areas anyway. What spec is your pc? Regards Steve
  7. Cheers Hal. I’ve just posted it in the bugs section on the main forum too. I’ll do more experiments tomorrow. update: I’ve found another post on the main forum regarding this. People are saying it affects Navgraph and other maps as well (I also use a map in VR) But… it only jams the controls while the mouse/cursor is over the map etc! Yep, I’ve just tested it and it’s correct. If I move the mouse away, the rudders work again ( hence the problem appearing to be random & intermittent) Also Asobo are aware of it and it’ll be fixed with SU8 :) Regards Steve
  8. Thanks for that Hal, but it’s not quite the same. I only fly in VR so I don’t undock any of the screens, unless it’s having the same effect. I’ve never had this happen before though.. well before this latest update anyway. At first I thought it was problem with the H135..but it’s happening to different aircraft including the default ones. just done more testing.. & It’s only doing it in VR. It’s like the rudder pedals / throttles are locking up while the weather loads. Closing the screen fixes it. Regards Steve
  9. I’ve been off work this week, so have had more time to fly than usual. I’ve been having a problem off & on, in that I keep losing some of the controls. Mainly the rudder, but also the throttle at times. It’s happened both on the ground and in the air. Obviously when it does, I’ve panicked.. made sure the co-pilot hasn’t got hold of the controls.. tried a few things and I’ve got it back…but it’s usually too late and I crash. I thought it was happening in addon aircraft only (H135 helicopter…Just Flights Piper Arrow.. Hawk..Typhoon) but it’s just done it with the Robin Dr400. I had the weather toolbar open this last time, and when I closed that I regained control. Same thing earlier today. I need to do more experimenting but it appears to be a bug. Update: yep, it’s definitely a bug. Just sat at EGLC in the H135. Rudders work fine. I opened the weather screen.. rudder pedals stop. I close the weather again and the pedals work. Same thing happens if I open the refuel screen. The VFR map seems ok. Haven’t checked them all. I kept moving my pedals..left..right..left..right..etc.. opening the wether screen and the rudders stopped working. It doesn’t happen everytime though. Anyone else having the same problem? Regards Steve
  10. Sounds like something wrong to me. I’ve got all the world updates etc and my main MSFS folder is only 198gb (there will be addons included in that) This doesn’t include my community folder. Regards Steve
  11. Even if it was supported, I don’t think you would hear the sonic boom. People on the ground would hear it as you passed by, but onboard the aircraft it would sound normal. Regards Steve Edit: you beat me to it Jeff :)
  12. No problem. That’s one thing sorted :) Regards Steve
  13. Hi, the default key binding for “toggle parking brakes” is CTRL + NUM DECIMAL You can change this to whatever you want of course. I don’t double up my throttle lever as the parking brake. My main throttle unit is a Honeycomb Bravo, but I also have some Saitek throttles attached. I’ve got one of the Saitek levers setup for “set parking brake” that way I can pull or release the brake as and when required. It works rather well :) If you need any help on setting the controls, there are loads of useful tutorials on YouTube, Like this one… Regards Steve
  14. After selecting Kastrup, did you then select where in the airport you wanted to start from? (it’s good practice to select a ramp or gate, rather than a runway) just to make sure you had actually selected the airport. It sounds to me it hadn’t made the selection (as if “enter” hadnt been pressed?) If you’d have clicked on another part of the screen, you’d have probably seen it revert back to the last selected airport (ie: Kennedy) Just tried it myself.. typing the name of an airport in the search bar but not actually clicking the airport when it appeared in the list below. I clicked fly and found myself at the previous airport I was at. Regards Steve Ps: I’ve done many reinstalls of MSFS myself, but reinstalling for something like that is a bit excessive LOL
  15. Not yet! Welcome to the forum and MSFS, but you don’t have to keep posting the same question. I personally don’t usually fly the A320 but no doubt someone else will be able to help. Edit: just had a fly around in the A320 and I too didn’t get any ground proximity warming sounds, just the altitude call-outs when landing. Regards Steve
  16. Hi, glad you’re enjoying the new sim. It’s a completely different program to FSX and all the previous ones though. There is a basic map within the sim but it’s pretty useless. There are loads of addon maps though.. like this one for example.. https://msfsaddons.com/2020/11/12/fspm-vfr-map-another-great-msfs-toolbar-mod-with-a-moving-map/ or this one… https://www.msfsaddons.org/freeware/plugin-vfrmap some use little navmap. I used to use one that displayed the map on my iPad (there are several apps that do this) As for the parking brake, you can simply bind a control for it. I have an old throttle lever set as mine. The parking brake isn’t on by default for most aircraft, unless I pull the lever back ( although I have noticed it comes on with certain aircraft) Regards Steve
  17. Hi John, Did you buy it from the Marketplace or Simmarket… and do you have the latest version? I bought the 103 a while back from Simmarket but haven’t installed or used it in a while. I had previously downloaded version 1.12 but it appears the latest is 1.16 which I have just downloaded / installed. I’m not sure about the old version but the latest seems ok to me. That is… assuming simply putting it into the community folder worked. The original version had an installation program (albeit a somewhat outdated looking one) but 1.16 didn’t have that, Of course you may have bought it from the MSFS Marketplace in which case you should already have the latest version. Regards Steve
  18. Well it’s certainly not FS2020 :) Regards Steve
  19. “ I would not want MSFS in it's current state”. It certainly has its bugs… bug it’s still worth it in my opinion. I’m having a blast! :) If you wanted to try it, you could always sign up for the one month’s game pass trial.. for just £1 / $1 This will let you try MSFS and see what it’s like for yourself. Just remember to cancel the gamepass before the month is up. Regards Steve
  20. I have to agree 100% - I thought the question was “would there be interest in a load of freeware airports” not “shall I look for a company to create some payware airports” Regards Steve
  21. It’ll be interesting to see what they say (if anything) I’m guessing for the moment you can only use the skies to land on snowy areas (snow covered land, rather than iced water) I wouldn’t be surprised if you could safely land the Icon on ice with the wheels up, as if you were landing on water. Regards Steve
  22. No worries :) Still doesn’t fix your problem though. As I said yesterday, I did get a CTD while flying around there.. So maybe there is some sort of bug. More testing needed I think. Regards Steve
  23. Ok on that. I haven’t bought the addon (and don’t want to now) but how does it compare with the screenshots? It looks different to the default scenery to me, but if you’re not seeing that, maybe you need to increase your graphics settings? (Buildings?) might be worth a look. Any chance of a screenshot? Regards Steve
