  1. I don’t use an addon linker… and I often forget to empty my community folder before updating. Don’t think it’s ever caused me a problem. Regards Steve
  2. Not sure what has caused it then. I presume you’ve experimented with various graphics settings? Terrain LOD..etc. Regards Steve
  3. Try general options.. graphics tab…. Trees setting is halfway down the list Regards Steve
  4. I don’t think it’ll be anything to do with the honeycomb yoke, or it’s software. It’s more likely to be the sim or bug with the aircraft itself. I don’t fly the Kingair but I’ve just had a quick go. The engines start.. and they stay on when I move the switch back to both. However, my throttle levers didn’t work at first. Once airborne I lost all the electrics. It’s not one I usually fly so not a problem for me, but I reckon it must have a few bugs Regards Steve
  5. No problem Ron. Unfortunately Asobo have always been a games company and may not have had much experience with flight sims until now. Which Logitech keyboard do you have? I have the K540 and it’s recognised and works fine.Mind you, I don’t really use it in the sim as I’ve got several peripherals setup.. plus I can’t see really see the keyboard with my VR headset on LOL Regards Steve
  6. Sorry to had more problems Ron. I presume you went into the control settings page in MSFS? The new sim is completely different to previous sims and many of the controls needs binding. I have a Honeycomb throttle unit, but I also have a Saitek unit.. with one of the levers set as the parking brake. It works quite well. The flaps lever on the Honeycomb works well too. The trim wheel also works, although it’s nowhere near as sensitive as it should be. Regards Steve
  7. Hi Ron, I can’t say 100% that there won’t be any conflicts.. but it’s probably worth taking the chance. You never know, once you’ve had a play with MSFS you may want to ditch XP anyway :) Regards Steve
  8. I think using the hand controllers is new. I personally prefer not to use them though. Saitek throttle units have always worked. I was using one while I was an Alpha tester and I still use one now (although the Bravo throttles are my main ones) I’ve only ever tried the discovery flights briefly..but I’m pretty sure it was the usual cockpit view. Regards Steve
  9. Thanks Dave. They have both a subwoofer and a motor. There are a lot of similar versions.. Amazon sell them as you say. So do Argos and several others. I’m not going to bother now though, after watching a few reviews. Also I currently have a car seat, mounted on a base. It’s adjustable (as it would be in a car) and I have the ( 6 or 8 motor?) seat pad. Plus, I’ve got the TPR pedals mounted in just the right place. If I bought one of these non-adjustable chairs it could mean having to redesign my setup. Regards Steve
  10. Wow, I want one! Presumably they’ll be available in the UK? Many years ago (20 years+?) I ordered a vibrating seat pad, after reading a review on this site. It still works.. I can feel the bumps and vibrations… but this seat looks fantastic! I might have to save up a few pennies first though Edit: how does this compare.? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rocker-Olympus-4-1-Gaming-Chair/dp/B094NFX6S8/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1P4X1AQFJWBJO&keywords=x-rocker+gaming+chair&qid=1644441411&sprefix=X-rocker%2Caps%2C65&sr=8-5 It seems quite cheap and I could have it Friday if ordered within 2 hours! Another edit: Change of plan. Some of the reviews aren’t brilliant. All these chairs appear to be a bit low down and non-adjustable. There are complaints like.. the motor being too powerful & sticking in your back. My current (20 year old) seat pad has several motors.. all in the padding that you’re sat on. Plus there’s a control box, from which I can turn the power up or down. Think I’ll continue with this a bit longer. Regards Steve
  11. G,ad you sorted it. That was certainly fun :) Thought I’d better land my Typhoon before you came down. Regards Steve
  12. There aren’t any, well not moving ones anyway, I think I’ve seen some stationary ones at some stations. It’d be nice to see trains traveling around one day, but I doubt it’s a priority Regards Steve
  13. I concur with FlightSimJim. Have you tried VR for yourself? I have had two versions of Trackir. I used them for years and thought they were brilliant. When MSFS came along, I invested in three 43” screens.. three Saitek panels.. plus a multipanel! Just a few months later, I bought a Reverb G2 - my screens & gauges are now obselete (not to mention my TrackIR) Regards Steve
  14. Oh well, glad you’ve got it working again and the install didn’t take too long :) Regards Steve
  15. One way around this is to move your viewpoint so far forward, so that the panel disappears. You can also enable the HUD if you wish, as Frank already suggested. Regards Steve
  16. I agree. I started with an Oculus Rift (CV1) and it worked reasonably well at the time, but the G2 is so much better. I also have a Quest and Quest 2.. but only use the G2 for MSFS Regards Steve
  17. Are you actually “zooming” or moving your viewpoint? There are options for both. Go into the controls settings page and set up some controls (cursor keys maybe?) for “translate cockpit view” forward..backward..etc Regards Steve
  18. Apparently the community folder should be here… (assuming you’ve installed in the default location) C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\AppData\Local\MSFSPackages\Community Regards Steve
  19. I’d drop rendering to around 70-75 and see how it does. You can always move it back up. Before upgrading, I used to run a 2080ti but I kept rendering down to around 75. Mind you… I was running in VR Regards Steve
  20. No problem. Glad you sorted it. A lot of the posts do say it’s caused by internet speeds. Regards Steve
  21. I’ve never had this problem (yet) but many others have. There are posts on this and the official forum about it.. like this one.. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/please-insert-disc-digital-version-help-please/281258 Hope it helps Regards Steve
  22. Can’t say I’ve noticed this, but I’m glad it’s been added. Not that it’s really been much of an issue. I’ve always had a desktop shortcut. It’s quite easy to do, but I’m glad it’s even easier now. Regards Steve
  23. What is rendering set to? It’s the biggest fps killer for instance. Reducing it (even slightly) may help. Also, which graphics driver are you using? Regards Steve
  24. Just had a fly around Sydney with the toolkit installed… and FPS now showing in VR! Surprisingly I was only getting around 21-25 fps. I wouldn’t have guessed though because the sim is smooth enough and working well, even in such a built up area. It just shows that trying to chase higher frame rates isn’t always necessary. I’m quite happy with the performance I’m getting… or at least I was until I knew how low my fps was LOL VR Flightsim Guy did say that the fps overlay itself actually reduces frames rates slightly at the moment, so I think I’ll disable it. Regards Steve
