  1. No, it doesn’t need to be activated. In fact I think it’s turned off by default. Regards Steve
  2. Also what Psu have you got? Regards Steve Ps: I presume you know you started two threads?
  3. As Tim & myself have said.. MSFS doesn’t like overclocking. Try dropping your CPU down to 3.8 With you getting BSODs then it’s likely to be hardware. I presume Windows is up to date? Regards Steve
  4. I don’t know if going down to the default speed of 3.8 will help but it might be worth a try. Afterall, MSFS doesn’t like overclocked hardware. I have had CTD’s previously, but not for a while. Regards Steve
  5. Why happens if you don’t overclock your cpu? (I believe 3.8 is the default) Regards Steve
  6. Can’t say I’ve noticed this myself & I only fly in VR. I don’t know if it’d make any difference, but which headset do you have? Regards Steve
  7. Sorry, I sold mine ages ago after buying thr Honeycomb. Regards Steve
  8. What speed are you running your ram at? (4000mhz?) try dropping it a bit and see what happens. I have 3600mhz ram but I run it at a lower speed. Regards Steve
  9. If you are using a laptop than I can understand why you might prefer a 2D panel. The new sim is completely different to all previous sims (& light years ahead!) but although many may disagree, it is better to run it on a desktop, or with an external screen at least. I spent a small fortune on scenery when I used to fly FSX but now there is 1000 times more scenery built into the sim than I ever had, and it’s so much better. Regards Steve
  10. Hi, I take it you have upgraded the pc but not updated your signature on here? :) I personally fly in VR but used to use three screens, with the image dragged across all three. Not ideal but it works. I do tend to fly small aircraft, but never had an issue with virtual cockpits anyway. Assuming you don’t have VR (or TrackIr?) it’s just a case of looking around the cockpit with your mouse. What is the payware issue? If it is aircraft..scenery etc designed for MSFS then you shouldn’t have any problems. You can’t use payware designed for previous versions though if that’s what you’ve been trying to do. Edit: I see your new specs now :) Regards Steve
  11. The clouds in your first screenshot certainly don't look good.. but I'm not seeing them like that & I fly in VR! I’ve got my clouds graphics setting at ultra. What are yours set to? In fact what are your graphics in general set to? Might be an idea to list your pc specs in your signature too Regards Steve
  12. Im a little confused.. what is the issue.. you can’t load a flight or photogrammetry not working? Your posts aren’t easy to read, with all the typos etc. Regards Steve
  13. Glad you’re getting somewhere. It’s certainly not easy to control on thr realistic setting, but easy (or even medium) is ok. Happy flying :) Regards Steve
  14. Hi John, I agree, reinstalling the Bell is probably a good idea. Until yesterday I hadn’t actually flown it for a while and I didn’t even have it installed so had to do just that. Just had another go, mainly to check the loading time. From me selecting the Bell..airport.etc to it being ready.. took about 30 seconds! Don’t know if it made any difference but I launched the heli manager before launching the sim. When MSFS was ready for me to fly, the heli manager was set to realistic. I didn’t think I’d left it set to that yesterday. Maybe now it chooses that setting by default? Regards Steve
  15. Hi Peter, I don’t have an Xbox myself, but there are one or two posts regarding this online.. maybe this will help.. or maybe this one.. https://xbox-forums.com/threads/msfs2020-on-xbox-x-cannot-connect-to-server-in-game.454450/ ps: I work at South Elmsall.. pretty close to your QTH :) 73 Steve
  16. Hi John, First question is which version do you have? Make sure you’ve got 1.71. Also there’s a big difference between the three difficulty settings. Using the FlyInside Heli Manager… click the flight model tab.. and try it on easy or medium. It’s certainly hard to control when it’s set to realistic. Regards Steve
  17. You can save your flight anywhere.. either in the air or on the ground. Press Esc so that the sim pauses and the menu pops up. You can then either press the spacebar or the load/save option at bottom of screen. Only drawback is when you reload your flight you won’t be able to change the weather. I’m sure I’ve read that there is a way to speed up the sim, but I’ve never tried it or looked into it. There is also a replay mode now. Think you have to enable developer mode first Regards Steve
  18. Great post Keith! I agree 100%. I am blown away everytime I put on my vr headset and go for a flight :) Regards Steve
  19. When your in the store… click on Library (bottom left of screen) You should see MSFS in the list of apps. Regards Steve
  20. Hi Johny, I don’t have an answer I’m afraid, other than not using the livery. At least the CTDs were caused by a simple thing and not hardware etc. Regards Steve
  21. It sounds like it’s not your Ram that’s causing it then. Hopefully it’ll be an addon in your community folder. Much easier to fix if it is :) Regards Steve
  22. Hi Johny, I’m not saying your ram is bad. The standard clock speed for ram is 2400mhz. Although your ram can run at 3600 (& is advertised/sold for that speed, it is technically overclocking. Ram sticks can vary in tolerance, so 3600 could be close to that. I have had problems with CTDs a while back and found that simply dropping the speed a little made all the difference. If you’re not familiar with the bios though it might be a little daunting. I have to go to work now & am a bit stuck for time but maybe someone else could help. I think 750w should be fine for your system, providing it’s a good quality psu. Personally I’d have preferred more but you should be ok with that. I would also check if you’ve any addons causing the problem, as Bob (Plainsman) suggested Regards Steve
  23. You could try reducing your ram speed slightly.. maybe to 3400 or 3200 and see if that helps. There will be a setting in your bios for this. Regards Steve
