  1. It's on your PC you call it what you want. Col.
  2. Bernard ty for posting that, you are right we should look on his site more often, I am a member but to be honest not been on there in a while. So sorry to read Tom's post on there, I like many more on here have known Tom for years and he is a real gentleman treats everyone with respect and has helped so many with their FS probs and set us on the right track. Col.
  3. Hi and ty mate, I seem to remember years ago I did something similar with CC but it seemed a lot easier or maybe I'm getting told lol. What I meant when nothing changed I looked in the files and all seemed like it was before I installed the the downloads. I hate to give up I will look again. Col.
  4. Also do a search for sound files, I've seen a few in/on various sites you may find one that suits and just rename it, worth a try. Col.
  5. I've now ordered one of those external graphics card setups, as my PC is small my old graphics card is too big for the case so this external setup should do the trick, fingers crossed. Col.
  6. I downloaded the AI CalClassic downloads from the this site, created a new folder and installed to that, but when I opened the folder nothing had changed, I obviously wasn't doing it right. Col.
  7. Could not download, got error 'could not connect to the server'
  8. Ah no wonder I wasn't getting anywhere lol. OK I changed it around, still got them but not as bad, I tried a few variations but to be honest the result is pretty good, in some views you notice the jaggies in others not so much but I can live with it. Thanks again for your input. Col.
  9. My old PC I had Nvidia graphics card but this one I'm using the Intel onboard as you see. In the sim I turned off ant-aliasing and I have tried Bilinear and Trilinear and my screen is 1920x1080 frames at 30. Also when it says 'Use application settings' I presume it means from the panel above not the actual sim? Thanks for the input by the way. Col.
  10. I recently built a makeshift PC and installed FS2004 running W10. It runs fine but I have jaggies, I don't have a graphics card installed but using the Intel Inside HD Graphics, on the YouTube and other streaming programs the picture is perfect but in FS I get the jaggies. I found a settings for the graphics and altered them to 4x and tried the other 8x and 16x but still they are there, any ideas please if anyone else has managed to get rid of the jaggies, I inserted a pic of the settings screen. Col.
  11. After rebuilding my PC and I now have Windows10 installed. I then installed FS9 after a few tweaks got it running OK, so started to install a few more things, one of them was Traffic View Board (TVB). I can select the flight I want to follow but it doesn't go to the aircraft any more, I can only see it if I use Traffic Tools menu, then it will follow it but only for a short distance then I get bounced back to base. I tried various versions of TVB and they all behaved the same, I notice I don't get that small follow icon on the screen anymore which used to be on earlier versions of Windows so that might be the problem, if I select the TVB the follow function it ticked but it isn't showing. So is it coz I'm using Windows10, anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do? Doh! Ignore, I found the problem, I never had FSUIPC installed, TVB needs it to work properly. Col.
  12. Yes it did work on the old PC, but like I said the FS stuff was already on my hard drive in a partition which I thought was on the external. I copied stuff off my old PC on to this external and plugged it in both PC's and the copied files showed up so I know it works. Col.
  13. Doh! I feel a right idiot! I looked on my old PC after I disconnected the other drive, and my FS was still there. I have programs on the C drive and without me knowing what or how this happened but I had a partition called E: drive. I was thinking this was the drive I had took out and all the time it was empty after all. I did see another drive but for some reason I thought it was a partition of the C drive so never put anything in it. Might sound a bit complicated but anyway I copied what I needed and put it on an external then transferred it to my new PC. Like I said it felt a right idiot once I saw my error. Thanks again for trying to help, it would never have read that drive lol. Col.
  14. Yes I think I know what you mean, my old PC was using W10 so I am puzzled why the laptop with W10 sees the drive as empty. Thank you for the replies by the way I do appreciate any help. I just ran a virus scan on this drive, even though W11 says it is empty, the scan read 18,124 files and they showed clear, so the virus scanner knows there are files there. Col
  15. Hi Luke I was thinking that, I will have to reconnect it, ty good idea. Edited: Yes connected to my old PC and it read the drive, everything there. Strange on the new PC and lappie they say the drive is empty. I tried the 'atrrib' idea and checkdisk but had no joy. Col.
  16. I recently got a new PC plus a laptop. The PC has W11 the laptop W10. I took out the extra drive from my old PC that had data on it, plugged it with a cable to USB, the they both recognise the drive but both saying the drive is empty. I searched online and found 2 solutions, tried them both but no joy, the data on the external is a lot of my FS stuff, aircraft etc and repaints. Anyone else had this any help appreciated. Col.
  17. Seen this a few times when liveries not showing, often a spelling error or upper/lower case letters. Sometimes you can delete some textures thinking they didn't work when all it all it boiled down to a simple error like you found above. Col.
  18. It is because in the air file it is set as an ai and they won't show, if you have a program called AirEd you can alter the air file, I for what line it is off the top of my head but it is a simple fix, failing that change the air file from a similar aircraft and see if it works.
  19. I've added waypoints using ADE, I go on 'collect airports' and go through the procedure of ticking the boxes of the new airport/waypoint and save, after I select ADE it is in the list, having said that there have been times I had to do it again as it didn't show first time. Col.
  20. Yes you are right, I never thought when I posted you had converted someone else's work so you would need their permission to upload and it could be a pain contacting them asking. Some might agree as long as you gave them credit for the original paint but I can understand others saying no. I must admit I've often seen a nice paint then realised it was an FSX instead of FS9 same with aircraft models too, as you know a lot of FS9 will work in FSX but not the other way round. Col.
  21. I've sailed ships before and one time I did drive around but the driving wasn't that good as a lot of the roads just end so you can't do a proper route, you have to drive through trees and buildings which as you know spoils it. As for the sailing, that was OK but the sea lacks the proper wave movement and the ships tend to look like they are on a solid mass not water. I understand the sim isn't made for things like this as it is for flying but just adding what I found.
  22. Carlos, for those that may find converting a bit out of their depth, can you not upload your paints for them to use? Col.
  23. I was looking at the system requirements to run XP12, so it isn't just the cost of buying the sim a lot will have to shell out on better or a new PC, so add that to the cost. I have seen it with a few versions of MS FlightSim where ppl had to upgrade their PC and even buy a new one to run it, those who couldn't either stayed on the early version they had or had to save to eventually get a decent PC. Yes it's nice to see these new sims but you have to be dedicated to run them, they are not for the casual user. My system runs XP11 but I have to lower some settings, so going off the requirements for XP12 I will need to upgrade and as I'm on an old age pension that is out of the question. Col.
  24. I didn't read all the posts but if not already mentioned: The % in the plan makes a difference too, for example if it was set in the flight plan at 50% and you slider was set at only 30% you won't see the aircraft. Some flight plans are set at 100% so if you have to either alter plan to a lower % or put you slider all the way to max 100% Col.
