  1. I looked at buying this aircraft but from what I can make out you need the PMDG 747 then a extra pack for the 8iF, and what really put me off was the price, it was too much to pay just to get this paint, shame really because I like it.
  2. I like the paint job, I'm a lover of fictional, pity I don't have the aircraft or I would definitely have downloaded this.
  3. Point taken Dom, I downloaded all the files needed, 1921.8MB in total, so yes it would have been a big file to download. As oyu say once you have them then other ecenery should be easier to install, is there any particular order to install by the way?
  4. I notice you need 9 other zips to make this scenery work, well at least the uploader put the links in, seems a lot of trouble though for a small airfield.
  5. I do have a few that only have a VC, I put a 2D in those, they work ok.
  6. I only mentioned him because of this thread really, as for 2D panels yes I got my answer, I like them and some don't.
  7. @ftldave, As I thought, I was thinking of getting the A2A 172 as well but that has put me off, plus any other A2A aircraft, shame really because I believe from what I've read they do good models. Well I'm sure they will survive without my support lol.
  8. My grandson recently bought the A2A Cessna 172 only to find there is no 2D panel, I looked online and found their forum and a guy on there who seems to be a member of staff for A2A said regarding the 'No 2d Panel' "You cannot use the 2D cockpit in FSX as so many sounds are tied to the VC exclusively as part of FSX doing more to phase out the 2D cockpit in favor of 2D panels within the VC." So according to that FSX is trying to phase out 2d panels, or is it because A2A just didn't do one? I forgot to add, when my grandson tried to add a 2D panel it worked except the prop didn't spin, any ideas?
  9. Also (some) VC's I've found are hard to navigate, I see the switch I want but can't easily get to it, after a bit of twiddling with the hat switch I get there. I had a panel recently and some of the switches were under the top facia and try as I may I couldn't get to them. As already said above I install a 2D panel on the ones that come without, having said that, not all 2D panels are good, some of them have been poorly done and I end up changing those as well.
  10. I recently bought a couple of payware aircraft, when I installed and go to cockpit view there is only the VC and no 2D. I ended up putting my own 2D panel in, a couple of reasons, the image in the VC always seems a bit hazy compared to the 2D, also I sometimes find it hard to operate certain knobs and switches in the VC. I was talking to my grandson and he too has a few payware aircraft and they are the same, no 2D panel, is this to save on getting the aircraft out on the market or is there another reason? If some simmers like just the VC then why not give you/them a choice when installing?
  11. @dude555 Not sure if you know or not but if not the package you got from SKY is pirated models from all different sites, so anything to do with that and others like that it is a taboo on this forum. If you didn't know you may be forgiven, I returned to FS a few years ago after a long spell away from it and I almost downloaded something very similar to what you got, luckily I mentioned it on here and was warned about it, but being new so to speak I didn't know.
  12. I was thinking if it's an AI then the air file will need changing but you say you got the other aircraft showing. Can you post a copy of your file structure and a copy of the cfg, someone might spot something. My Mistake the original AC isn't an AI but you want it to be, sorry.
  13. OK, have you by any chance got TTools flight plans installed and not converted to FSX, these can kill any FSX plans, they say don't mix the 2 up? Just another thought.
  14. When that happens with me the first thing I do is double check the aircraft.cfg and check every spelling to see if they match things like the texture name or the air file name. Does it point to a paticular model and your model might have a different name? I have seen many where one little thing like a comma or full stop or upper/lower case letters are different. I see you said you checked the cfg, not insulting your intelligence but have another look, I have done this, convinced I have checked then I spot something.
  15. I downloaded this aircraft but it didn't show up in FSX, when I changed the panel and sound it did, I wonder if it was really meant for FS2004, unless it was just my setup but other AC's I've added show up no problem. Interesting to see if others have the same problem, other than that I like it.
