  1. Hi Hans, Yes you usually can repaint it, unless the author used the default AFCAD/ADE water, which is the same around the world (and thus probably best not to change that). But we will need more detail on exactly which scenery and exactly which water you want to change before we can give you much help.
  2. Hi, Yes, individual throttle control is also possible using the keyboard, or by using a throttle quadrant. Lots of choices.
  3. It is possible to cap such an engine using a panel gauge, but it will be fighting any joystick/yoke control. The logic: IF the throttle lever for engine number 2 is above X %, THEN set the throttle for engine #2 to X %. To detect the position of the throttle lever for engine #2 you could use the variable (A:General eng2 throttle lever position, percent). This variable's output will vary between 0 and 100 percent, depending on the position of the throttle. The control of the throttle could be: [number] (>K:THROTTLE2_SET). This variable accepts values between 0 (0% throttle) to 16383 (100% throttle. So (for example) if you wanted to limit the throttle for engine number 2 to 80% throttle, the code would be something like: (A:General eng2 throttle lever position, percent) 80 > if{ 13106 (>K:THROTTLE2_SET) } Hope this helps,
  4. Are you putting the resulting BGL files into the same place?
  5. No way I know of, short of deleting the stock file that probably contains flattens for multiple airports (probably the FL file?). The way people usually handle this is to create their own flatten (mesh?) file that takes priority over the default flatten.
  6. Good point. Do you have another copy of FS2004 installed on your system?
  7. Unfortunately it sounds like your video system may not be compatible with FS9...
  8. Hi, It's likely that the OP may have another copy of the tree library file (add_SeevKahn_Trees.bgl) somewhere in his scenery folders and that copy does not include the textures. FS will load library BGL files in unpredictable priorities, so that one may be loading instead. Do a search in your scenery folders for that file name.
  9. I tried renaming my Aircraft folder and AITM2's Aircraft Editor will not even open. So I cannot reproduce your results.
  10. I use Ctrl Shift F4 which take the mixture to full rich immediately. Ctrl Shift F3 requires multiple presses. Also check in Options/Settings/Assignments to make sure that Ctrl-E is still assigned to the Autostart Engines command.
  11. You apparently need to download and install some tree textures, probably specified in the text file?
  12. ADE does not create terrain polygons for FS2004. These are the grass shapes underneath airports. To create those you would need to use a program like SBuilder.
  13. For now just put 15% fuel into each tank and try that.
  14. The ADE manual chapter 3 - Creating a new Airport from Scratch. Download link: https://www.scruffyducksoftware.com/shop-and-downloads Note that ADE will not create airport backgrounds for FS2004 - you will need to use a program like SBuilder for that.
  15. Assuming it's the aircraft models, it's usually the Contact Points that are the problem. Often the Scrape values are scraping on the ground, or something similar. You can test this by temporarily replacing the Contact Points section of the aircraft.cfg file with a section from a plane's cfg file that does take off. Ignore what the plane looks like, but does it now take off?
  16. Glad to help. I had a keyboard problem long ago and thought it sounded similar.
  17. Once you do the above, using the keyboard becomes easy. Make sure NumLock is off, then on the numeric keyboard: 8: Move forward 2: Move back 4: Move left 6: Move right 1: Rotate left 3: Rotate right 5: Stop all movement
  18. If you do not use the yoke/joystick in slew mode (I do not, I use the keyboard exclusively), in FS9 go into Options/Assignments/Joystick Axes tab. Then click the Slew Mode button. Now for each line that has an entry in the Axis column: 1. Click that line 2. Click Delete Joystick Assignment 3. Click OK (or whatever it says) Repeat for all such lines. Click OK. Now the joystick will have no effect whatever in Slew mode and usually such problems will be gone. If not, then you may have a keyboard issue. Hope this helps,
  19. BTW, I just noticed that when the building comes into view, the scenery goes blurry. This is due to very small (less than 64 pixel) DXT textures after conversion. Only some FS installations seem to be susceptible, so check if this is true with you. I rotate my position in Slew mode and when the building comes into view (even when I'm at the airport) the scenery goes blurry. If this happens to you, instead of choosing DXT1 in step 9e above, choose 8 bit. This fixes the problem on my computer. Hope this helps,
  20. Thanks for the correction (is it indeed convimx) and the added information. I decompiled the biltmoreash.bgl file and it is the placement information. The other BGL only contains the object. But you can add the placement information into a new BGL file using MCX, just as you did. BTW, I did mention to add that file to the scenery folder, step #7. Thanks too for the new location; I've placed mine there. Just to clarify, the new longitude should be W82.5529018 or -82.5529018, depending on the program you are using. The latitude is N35.540946 or 35.540946.
  21. Hi, In the FS2004 generic.bgl file there is a baseball stadium that is not that much different from McCormick Field. You could use that. You can use any program that places library objects, like Instant Scenery or Airport Design Editor.
  22. The only alternative I know of that gives you placement right in the sim is EZ-Scenery by Abacus, which is still available (I think) but no longer supported. Other programs like ADE can place the objects, but not from within the sim.
  23. Hi, No, it's not in FS9 (or FSX). There is an FSX scenery for it, but it is not compatible with FS9. You can make it compatible, though, with just a little work. Hopefully your FS2004 is not installed into any Program Files folder - if so, do not try to edit the BGL or DDS files within that - use a folder on your Desktop or similar location away from any Program Files folder. Then move the edited files into your FS installation later. 1. Download and install ModelConverterX (MCX, latest development version). Do not install into any Program Files folder. https://www.scenerydesign.org/development-releases/ 2. Download and install convim (and the latest dll set from the same page). Do not install into any Program Files folder. http://www.mwgfx.co.uk/ 3. Download the FSX Biltmore Estate scenery. https://www.fs2000.org/2015/09/13/fsx-biltmore-estates/ 4. Start MCX and Import the biltmorejoe.bgl file from the scenery package (it's in the scenery folder). 5. Now use Export Scenery, choose FS2004 BGL file from the drop down box, and save it with the same name (biltmorejoe.bgl). Overwrite the old one if you wish. 6. Copy our new FS2004 BGL file and paste it into an active scenery folder. If you have addon scenery for KAVL this would be a logical place. If not, paste into the FS2004/Addon Scenery/scenery folder. 7. Copy the biltmoreash.bgl file from the scenery package and paste into the same folder as in #6. 8. Copy all the DDS texture files from the scenery package's texture folder and place them into the texture folder adjoining the scenery folder we used in #6 and 7. If you used the FS2004/Addon Scenery/scenery folder this would be the FS2004/Addon Scenery/texture folder. 9. Start convim and choose: a. In the upper left box choose the texture folder you placed all the DDS texture into. b. Click the All button at the lower left. c. Choose Extended Bitmap from the center drop down box. d. Click the Flip Image box. e. Choose DXT1 from the drop down box at the lower right, if not selected already. f. Uncheck include Mipmaps. g. In the box at the upper right, choose the same folder as we did in step 9a. h. Click the Convert button. i. Say OK to the overwrite warning (we won't). 10. Start FS2004 and watch for the Updating Databases progress bar. If it does not appear, the new BGL files are not in an active scenery folder. Add that folder to the Scenery Library. Go to KAVL, depart the airport at a heading of 353, and it will be on your right before you leave the airport grounds. You can delete all the DDS files in the texture folder if you wish, but it's not necessary. Hope this helps,
  24. I don't see that information saved in a FLT (Flight file). So I assume it's saved separately when you change that information from the Select Aircraft menu. From what I can tell the information is stored in the state.cfg file found in Users/[username]/Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/FS9/AIRCRAFT, inside the plane's folder. The format is like: [FltSim.1] atc_airline=AMERICAN atc_flight_number=114 Are those still there for that aircraft?
