  1. Settings, then Scenery Library, then Add Area, then Addon Scenery Then select the scenery that you want to add then OK Now comes the interesting part.. that scenery file will open, Left click anywhere in the white, underneath the Scenery & Texture files... No need to click OK It will now be added to the library By the way, the new scenery does not have to be in the Addon Scenery folder. It can be anywhere. So, when adding the new scenery, just tell the library where to find it. I'm sharing scenery from one of my installs with a couple of my other installs. It saves space & works like a charm
  2. Remember what you install, & always install to a temp directory then copy over, just in case things do not work, & you have to find & delete the problem child. In fact, copy & paste the complete working install to a safe place. That way it's easy to copy & replace any problem files. Enjoy!

    Old programs

Not going to argue, Mark. It works for me.
  6. Just one of those things.. Microsoft, in their wisdom, in Windows 10, made the Program files (X86) folder a 'protected' area & it is painful, if not impossible to edit any files that are there. Normally, the 9.1 update & patch must be done, before anything else, in order to get FS2004/FS9 to work. You add-ons, A2A or anything else go afterwards. By the way, I have never had an A2A install issue & I have all of the A2A's. Now, IF the installer moans about installing into another directory & not the default, simple... Just tell it to install into the default, then copy all over into the install that is in C:\ If the installer will not install, this happens, occasionally with very old installers, copy the installer exe to the desktop, right-click & run in compatibility mode & as Admin.. It will work. I've had to do that about twice, over the last 5 years that I've been running Windows 10. It is actually quicker to do than to explain. By the way, I have a complete FS9 install on my portable hard drive, that I just copy & paste (renaming of course) when I install multiple FS9 installs, I have 8..
  7. The sizing of the in game windows are dependent on the resolution setting of the sim, which should = your screen/monitor resolution.
  8. Windows Task Manager: Ctrl-Alt-Del together (Computers 101) (or Google How to find Windows Task Manager) Did you install FS2004 in C:\ & NOT it's default directory? Did you install the FS2004 9.1 update? Did you install the FS2004 NOCD patch? (Optional: did you try run in XP compatibility mode & as Administrator) If NO, to any of the above, FS2004 will not work!
  9. Have a look at SOH, there's been a whole bunch of Auster's released (DaveM's) , about 20 of them, with 40+ downloads each.. Methinks a revival of FS2004 is at hand?
  10. Well said, Mark! Gotta have both the update & NOCD patch..
  11. There is a post on top of the FS2004 forum, on how to install into Windows 10. If it installed in default, it will not work, also, the 9.1 update & patch is mandatory. Why do you not want the updates? If you have not read it yet, here goes.. 1. Install into C:\ NOT into it's default C:\Program Files 2. Install the 9.1 updatel 3. Install the 9.1 nocd patch 4. Right-click the FS9.exe, select Properties 5. Select Compatibility mode, & select XP 6. At bottom, then select 'Run as Administrator' 7. Double click the desktop icon Point 5 may be optional, if it does not work. Welcome to our beloved 17 year old sim, that is still supported by great developers. Nice specs on your PC, but you must remember that the sims, FS2002 & FS2004, are 32bit games and will only address 4GB of RAM, including the RAM of your graphics card. That's what normally happens when running 32bit games in a 64bit OS. Myself, I have 8 separate & themed versions of FS2004. Golden Wings, Heritage, Alaska, Vintage, Space (?) Ford Tri-Motor, (amazing GW stuff there) & a couple of others, to keep the installs manageable, without scenery conflicts. Anyway, have fun & there is no reason as to why you will not have the same, if not more fun with FS2004.
  12. 1. Is it a Windows game? If YES, then wrong forum. If NO, see 2. 2. If it is an add-on airport for FS2004 & you know the name, then search in the library for it. If NO, see 3. 3. See 1.
  13. FS9 & FSX will never die, nor become defunct. As long as there are people using it, and developers, both freeware & payware, developing for it, both sims will be very much alive. There are many that do not have the resources (& patience) to buy a high end PC to run MSFS & there are those that are very much invested, time energy & financially, with the older sims. No, MSFS has not replaced anything. It's just another sim out there that we can choose to play. IsMSFS a mature sim as FS9 & FSX is? of course not. It will be many years until it is. Can we fly our favourite planes in MSFS? Of course not yet. In some cases, probably never! So, please, you do not need to knock the old 'defunct' as you call it, sims. For us, it just works, with what we want.
  14. Indeed, cutting corners with 'unofficial' Windows 10 installs tends to bite occasionally. Go the correct route..
  15. LOL, it's just the install packaging software that the developer uses to pack the files. Some can be set to find the FS9 install only, & others can be set to install into any folder. Some installer packages use a registry finder & others do not. So, it's all dependent on the developer & the software packaging software he uses.
  16. Then the only thing is to install into the default, then copy & paste where it needs to go. Nothing else, really
  17. That's what I've done occasionally. The Registry Repair tool helps... from https://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library This tool will repair your FSX or FS9 registry so that the path is valid. Many times certain applications use this path. If it is invalid, some programs may not work.
  18. Along with the Fs2004 Turbo prop theme.. To complete our DC-3's how about one of those tri-turbo DC-3's.. here.. http://dc3dakotahistory.org/turbo-power/tri-turbo-three/ & https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conroy_Tri-Turbo-Three THAT could be fun..
  19. However, having one for FS2004 would be great!
  20. I was going to suggest that.. You might have a Scenery issue, that could be sorted out. First, just to try, copy everything EXCEPT FS9.cfg & the scenery.cfg over (yet) To safeguard everything, if you have the space, make a copy of the working FS2004, the main folder, & call it FS2004-Backup, so if anything dies, it's easy to copy & replace from the backup.
  21. Well, it was released in late 1999, 4 years before FS2004. FS2000 was also the last of the Flight Simulator series to support the Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 operating systems. Have a look here if you are using a supported operating system.. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?298811-FS-2000-amp-Windows-10/page2 Also.. Why?
  22. It would be great to have a TP. Here in South Africa, our Air Force has a bunch of C-47TP's. Obviously it's a bit longer than a standard C-47, with a different panel setup.
