  1. Mmmmm, maybe try deleting it's fs9.cfg & restarting. The sim will rebuilt the fs9.cfg, & you will probably have to redo key assignments. No issues in running FS2004 in Windows 10.. (I'm running 8 versions, including GW). Run in Windows XP mode, as Adminintrator & the install must NOT be in it's default Program Files folder, but directly in C:\
  2. I'm using Windows 10. Well, I have unique installs that are themed, and to keep the install size manageable, with aircraft & scenery pertinant to each install, & it prevents any scenery conflicts that could occur. I also have unique splash screens & gui per install. So, I have the following installs: Golden Wings, Ford Tri-Motor Project, Alaska, Vintage (pre WWI), History (WWI era), Heritage (WWII era), Space (Carl Reddin's Space scenery, with Lost in Space scenery & a whole bunch of spacecraft), Then I have a FS2004SE install with aircraft & scenery that our local VA club uses & I also have a test install as well. & I have a clean install on a portable drive that I just copy, paste & rename should I need extra installs, or if anything bombs out. Over the years, I must have used that for over 40 installs on various PC's So, they all work perfectly in Windows 10.. No issues.
  3. Not at all.. As you known FS2004 needs disc 4 in the drive to work, unless you use the patch.. I've 8 versions of FS2004 on my PC, all working perfectly.
  4. I tend to agree that TNW is great.. For a free global add-on, it IS awesome.
  5. Hi, Just have a look at the first post in the FS2004 forum.. Follow the steps, & all will be good. It applies to most operating systems. Have fun..
  6. Great stuff & memories, thanks Dom
  7. See the post at the top of this page, regarding installing FS2004 into Windows 10, & try the same for Windows 7. It does not matter if the operating system is 64bit or 32bit.. 64bit is better, as it can address more RAM memory.
  8. That big wheel is NOT a trim adjustment at all. It is a rough adjustment thats used to center the controls. I've used it once only, never again. Normally the yoke is set up & calibrated using the normal Windows or the sim's calibration settings. Trim is normally set up on the CHProducts yoke using the rockers on top of the yoke handles. Those 2 toggle switches on the front panel of the yoke are normally used for flaps & gear up & down. Assignments are done within the sim itself or by using the amazing FSuipc free addon that will allow you to set up the toggles far better. I hope this explains.. I've been using the CHProducts yoke & peddles for many years now. Love it!
  9. Indeed, Bill has given us great add-ons, all with a story attached. Sometimes with a boat and/or car. His FS2002 stuff also works with FS2004. ALL his planes are very worthy of being added to our sims!!
  10. Have you had a look at the post on top of the forum, on installing FS2004 into Windows 10?

I do have the files, PM me if you need them, however, I'm still waiting for internet, and I can send them when I'm connected.
  13. Have a look at my first post on this forum. Copying from FS2004's default folder, followed by Flight1's Registry repair works. In fact, I have a copy of a default FS2004 install, with my favorite addons on a portable drive, with 8 unique installs. This works for Windows 7 - Windows 10.. I'm using Windows 10 64bit, no issues at all.
  14. Could have deleted the FS9.cfg first, before Uninstalling the whole program. On restart, a new cfg file will be created.
  15. What sometimes works: Copy the exe to the desktop, right click it, select Properties, select Compatibility, then select XP mode. Then select Run as Administrator. Worth a try.
  16. Wow, thanks for the missing aircraft. Mike, and Garry are among the forgotten stars of FS2004 addons.
  17. Awesome, thanks. I've just moved an no wifi as yet. OK if I pm you when I'm ready?
  18. I was discharged yesterday. Health is good, just a little bit slow with my walking. I get tired quite quickly, but that's to be expected. Thanks, everybody, for all your thoughts and wishes. It really kept me going.
  19. Lol.. The definitive definition is that it's a game that simulates a simulator.
  20. Thanks for the kind words, Paul. I'm still in hospital getting my mobility sorted. I walked 100 meters today, unassisted. Probably another 2 days, then I'm going home, all being well.
  21. I'm still in hospital, just having physiotherapy to get me walking 100%, then I'm off home. What a journey this has been.
  22. Do tell WHAT FS2020 is. Yet another thumb sucked name for Microsoft Flight Simulator? As far as I'm aware, even Asobo developers call the dim by its contracted name.. MSFS. Anyhow, it is all about immersion first, then realism. We've seen this when pilots are flying our sim, and upon finals, they actually brace themselves, anticipating touchdown. That's in FS2004, freeware scenery and aircraft. For me, FS2004 ticks all the boxes because No expensive hardware required Muliple installs Range of aircraft, props etc It just works! And my very favorite.. Ford Tri-Motor Project scenery, from the late Harry Smith.
