  1. Hi all, my 4th week in hospital, after going through pneumonia and renal failure. At the moment I'm at a rehab field hospital, here in Cape Town, and I'm well over the hump. I'm having physio therapy, as being on my back for 4 weeks, I've no lower body muscle tone, so I can stand, March in place, but I'm unable to walk as yet. So, probably another week here, then 20 days isolation, then home.. Finally! Dom, thanks so much for the call, earlier, much appreciated. I'll be back!!! Robin
  2. Have a look here.. https://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=mikestone&x=0&y=0 Thats the complete Mike Stone collection.
  3. Thanks for sending. That SendGB.com works well!
  4. I've just mailed you. I use https://www.sendgb.com/ for sending files. It is free & does large files as well.
  5. Now try your C17, fully loaded into Kai Tak's interesting old airport, with it's checker board approach..
  6. Thanks, Mark. Well done for the helping hand! So, when installing, the previous textures will be backed up, (in the backup folder) so easy to get back to what we had?
  7. Ok, a lot of confusion here. If you already have FSX, it's worth a try. No additional graphics card needed. Make sure that FSX in NOT installed in it's default Program Files folder, but in something like C:\FSX Then, find the FSX.exe, right click it, select Compatibility & select Windows XP, then tick Run as Administrator. In all probability, that should work. By the way, FS2004, which is STILL very well supported, runs perfectly in Windows 10 as well. I installed mine to my laptop that also has no DVD. The installed DX is, I stand corrected, backward compatible. Or you can buy FSX:SE from Steam. But do not spend more on extra hardware unless you've tried everything. Nothing wrong with an integrated graphics card for a PC that's not primary a sim PC.
  8. Much appreciated, also anything on the Whitworth Argosy could be interesting.
  9. Nope, basically given up hope..
  10. I just might have them as well, give a shout if needed.. And there is quite a selection of older vintage type wheel-less aircraft out there to fly..
  11. And I found this... https://www.dc3airways.net/flights/marine_div/marine_division.htm Looks like great fun.
  12. Mark, Sorry, I just could not help myself there...Lol.. Have a look here.. There could be some fun scenery.. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/toh/ Also Golden Wings Hawaii could be fun But there was another site, & for the life of me, I just cannot remember, that was dedicated to this kind of Clipper type scenery.
  13. Mark, Lakes & rivers are normally great to land on, with wheel-less things.. Great advantages are.. plenty of space, no buildings, & no numbers to try land on. You will probably find a vast selection to choose.
  14. First, you need to decide which flight sim you are deciding on, then, as each have differing hardware requirements, we can possibly help.
  15. I would have installed it into a 'dummy' folder, then moved it into Fs2004. The Registry Repair tool is only for FS2004, telling the registry where the FS9.exe is situated. The VFR scenery should not have crashed the PC. That's an odd one. Once you have installed FS2004, and added stuff to it.. basic favourite aircraft & scenery, not complicated stuff, Copy & Paste the whole folder to a portable drive. That way, you have a good backup, should you ever need to reinstall. Just copy & paste the backup, instead of a complete reinstall. It works perfectly. Further to that, I'm not sure how I can help with the VFR scenery. What you have done seems ok, in installing it into C:. Also, any scenery can be installed out of the sim folder, You would then go into the scenery library as usual, & point it to any external folder where scenery is. This helps with multiple installs, as scenery then does not have to be duplicated. Phew, I hope that explains.
  16. Hi Richard, I hope all is working. Sometimes, we tend to over analyze, & end up with analysis paralysis, often the easiest way is better. Anyway, give a shoutout if you get stuck, or if there are any issues.
  17. Great, It's pretty easy.
  18. Hi Richard, Either way will do. What I would actually do, is copy the whole FS2004 folder from it's Program files folder, & post it into C:\ Then download the Flight1 Registry repair tool from https://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library This tells the registry where FS2004 is. Then rename the original FS2004 folder to FS2004-backup, & delete the FS2004 desktop icon Then, in the new FS2004 install in C:\, find the FS9.exe, right-click on that, & Send to desktop. It actually takes longer to explain than to do, & now you have a 2nd backed up FS2004 install that you can copy to a portable drive to use as a backup, or to use as a basis for multiple FS2004 installs. (or you can uninstall FS2004 & reinstall into C:\ & NOT into it's default folder) I would do the copy & paste thing, I have 8 separate unique themed FS2004 installs done that way.. Have fun.
  19. Whoaaa! Hold your horses.. DO NOT UNINSTALL, if you have issues, especially with adding scenery or trying to edit stuff.. If you do pick up an issue, just post here, or PM me..
  20. It seems that, as per Mark, the Windows 10 issues are probably with certain jet tubeliners. I have not picked up issues with my CS C-130 either. As I dont fly jet tubes, I dont have an issue with Windows 10 at all. But for those that do have issues.. Windows 7 seems to work.
  21. Maybe try this? How to Fix Ms-Gaming Overlay Popup Press the Win + I combination key to open Windows Settings. Go to Gaming > Gaming bar. Switch the toggle of Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar to Off. Next, press Win + G to see if the error is solved.
