FS98 L1011-100 Stargazer Without Payload. 1994 modification of a 1974 Tristar L-1011-100, as mothership for Pegasus XL satellite launch vehicles for Orbital Sciences (now part of Northrop Grummann). This model does not carry the Pegasus XL Booster, and is based on original 2/99 AFX by Eric Nabstedt, re-worked with 12-sided fuselage, engines, and wheels, as well as new wheeldoors, wheelwells, gear and flap animation. The Stargazer is powered by three Rools Royce RB211-22 turbofans with 42000 flb thrust each, giving the aircraft a maximum cruise speed of 520 kt. Switch over to this model when flying the Stargazer with Pegasus XL Booster, to emmulate flight after rocket launch. High-quality textures by Udo Entenmann. By Stephan Scholz.
