  2. X-Plane 11 Goodyear Blimp

X-Plane 11 Goodyear Blimp "Spirit of Innovation" N2A. This is a repaint of Cynderdragon's GZ-20 Goodyear Blimp (GOODYEAR_GZ-20.ZIP); it has been re-textured in the livery of "Spirit of Innovation", Goodyear's last GZ-20 to fly. Spirit of Innovation was erected in 2006 as a replacement for the "Stars and Stripes". Stars and Stripes had crashed in Coral Springs, Florida the year earlier and the Pompano Beach, Florida airship crew was in need of a new ship. From 2006-2015, Spirit of Innovation called South Florida home. She spent those years giving many rides out of her home base, covering the Daytona 500 and many college football games. In 2015, Spirit of Innovation was re-located to Carson, California to replace her retiring GZ-20 Sister ship, the Spirit of America. Spirit of Innovation spent her time in California covering many Hollywood events and even making a trip to Canada. Spirit of Innovation was deflated on March 14, 2017 as the last GZ-20 blimp. Goodyear has replaced their fleet of GZ-20s with Zeppelin NTs. By David Rakestraw.

  3. X-Plane 11.30+ A-90 Orlyonok 1.0

X-Plane 11.30+ A-90 Orlyonok 1.0. The A90 Orlyonok is a Soviet ekranoplan that was designed by Rostislav Evgenievich Alexeyev of the Central Hydrofoil Design Bureau. The A-90 uses ground effect to fly a few meters above the surface. This X-Plane model was tested with both no waves and 3 ft waves. The result was (as in the real world), no waves produced a lot of drag increasing the takeoff run, while waves reduced the takeoff distance. That seems wrong, but again, in the real world, this is how it works. The included documentation is 4 pages long and has both history and specifications listed. By Billy Bargagliotti.

  10. X-Plane 11.25+ Horten Ho IVa High Performance Glider 1.0

X-Plane 11.25+ Horten Ho IVa High Performance Glider 1.0. The Horten Ho IV was a high performance, all wing, competition glider designed to compete with the best gliders of its time. It featured a high aspect wing for optimum gliding performance and a prone pilot position, minimizing drag while providing a unique flight experience. Four were built in the 1940s and one was used in competitions in the 1950s (taking prizes a number of times). This X-Plane model features highly accurate model based on historical, research and restoration data, full flying wing aerodynamic model using original Horten airfoils, a bell-shaped lift distribution and custom fuselage airfoils to model the entire aircraft for a realistic flight experience, custom airfoils analysed with X-foil across the Reynolds number regimes of the aircraft, custom flight controls using X-Plane's override_control_surfaces feature to simulate the triple differential elevon and dual drag/dive brake control surfaces of the Ho IV design, plus many more additional features. Documentation included in the package. By Fred Highland.

  13. X-Plane 11 Boeing 314 Clipper 1.0

X-Plane 11 Boeing 314 Clipper 1.0. The Boeing 314 Clipper was a long-range flying boat produced by the Boeing Airplane Company between 1938 and 1941. One of the largest aircraft of the time, it used the massive wing of Boeing’s earlier XB-15 bomber prototype to achieve the range necessary for flights across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Twelve Clippers were built; nine were brought into service for Pan Am and later transferred to the U.S. military. Two versions are included in this X-Plane package: Pan Am, which features a simple instrument panel as used by the original Clippers, plus a UK Navy, ocean camo livery which features a full modern glass, HUD, GPS. The experimental transport aircraft combined the capabilities of a helicopter for vertical take-off and landing with those of a fixed-wing aircraft for cruise. The Ka-22 carried a large payload, having a hold comparable in size to the Antonov An-12. Eight world records for altitude and speed were set by the Ka-22 in its class, none of which have since been broken. Comprehensive documentation included in the package. By Billy Bargagliotti.

  15. X-Plane 11 Supersonic Low Altitude Missile 1.0

X-Plane 11 Supersonic Low Altitude Missile 1.0. The Supersonic Low Altitude Missile or SLAM was a US Air Force nuclear weapons project conceived around 1955, and cancelled in 1964. SLAMs were conceived of as unmanned nuclear-powered ramjets capable of delivering thermonuclear warheads deep into enemy territory. The development of ICBMs in the 1950s rendered the concept of SLAMs obsolete. Advances in defensive ground radar also made the stratagem of low-altitude evasion ineffective. Although it never proceeded beyond the initial design and testing phase before being declared obsolete, the design contained several radical innovations as a nuclear delivery system. Comprehensive documentation included in the package. By Billy Bargagliotti.
