This is the 10th in a serious of repaints for countries that flew the North American T-28 in their military. Starting in 1959, the French acquired 148 former U.S. Air Force T-28As, and had them modified with R-1820s, a three-bladed propeller, armor plating, and four wing hard points for bombs, rocket pods, and/or gun pods with twin .50 cal. machine guns. The Sud Aviation modifications became the T-28S Fennec (Fennec being the French word for ‘desert fox’). You will need the FSX North American T-28D VT-5, vt-5-0915.zip. Original model by Tim Conway Updated by Mark Rooks Repaint by PhrogPhlyer Other aircraft in this series are: FSX North American T-28C VT-6 ( T28C VT6.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Cuban Air Force ( T-28 Cuba AF.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Congolese Air Force ( T28C Congo AF.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Taiwan ROC Air Force ( T28 ROC Taiwan AF v1aF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 South Korea ROK Air Force ( T28 ROKAF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 Royal Moroccan Air Force ( T28 RMAF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 Uruguay Naval Air Force (T28 UNAF.zip) FSX North American T-28 Philippines Air Force (T28 Philippines Air Force.zip) FSX North American T-28 Royal Thai Air Force (T28 Royal Thai Air Force.zip) More to come.
  2. Oh if only... buying lottery tickets again!
  3. This issue; which version, and DVD vs. streaming, again highlights to me the best part of our flight sim community. There are myriad ways to participate and enjoy. One version is not any better or any worse than any other, as long as the sim pilot is moving virtual aircraft through virtual skies. And the extent that some use the platform to operate ships and ground vehicles highlights the breath and scope of our community. Lets not confuse preference with value to the user. And I can say that I have been lucky to have never had a CD or DVD get scratched.
  4. Yes a nice '60s thru early '70's molded plastic overlay. Looks good, as for approach hold, guess its time to hand fly the plane. Hope not too much turbulence.
  5. So true Nels, I'm just a stick and rudder guy in smaller aircraft, The comment was directed towards advance electronics in a 172, not the Garmin system itself. I also fully appreciated the Collins FMS in the C-12R (got me across the Atlantic).
  6. Warning: Purist/simplistic answer being posted... What's a sophisticated Garmen system doing in a 172? Want to know distance to a waypoint? Break out your E6B and determine it based on your calculated ground speed/airspeed/winds etc. The E6B used to fill time in the cockpit when not looking out the windows. I have a friend who has a G1000 in his 172, when asked what he fly's his answer is "A G1000" not "A Cessna 172." Interesting evolution in general aviation.
  7. Great operational detail. How close until it shows an RA? Out of interest, does the Vision's autopilot begin the maneuver or just the TCAS RA?

This is the 9th in a serious of repaints for countries that flew the North American T-28 in their military. A total of 88 T-28Ds were delivered to Thailand. The Royal Thai Air Force continued operating T-28's until at least 1978. You will need the FSX North American T-28D VT-5, vt-5-0915.zip. Original model by Tim Conway Updated by Mark Rooks Repaint by PhrogPhlyer Other aircraft in this series are: FSX North American T-28C VT-6 ( T28C VT6.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Cuban Air Force ( T-28 Cuba AF.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Congolese Air Force ( T28C Congo AF.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Taiwan ROC Air Force ( T28 ROC Taiwan AF v1aF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 South Korea ROK Air Force ( T28 ROKAF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 Royal Moroccan Air Force ( T28 RMAF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 Uruguay Naval Air Force (T28 UNAF.zip) FSX North American T-28 Philippines Air Force (T28 Philippines Air Force.zip) More to come.
  9. You got me thinking about different cockpits I've flown with in RL, to include the OH-6. I did a search of various 300 cockpits on the web. The two I've attached should be a good starting point, the difference being inclusion (or not) of an HSI, DG, and turn coordinator. The first one is simple and easy, great for VFR flying. I added the OH-6 panel in case you go military with your creation. Good luck.
  10. hsv, how far into the cockpit build are you? If you'd share a pic of what you have built or plans, it'd be easier to give you some ideas. Best suggestion at the moment is to look online at actual cockpits, especially ones that are NOT high end corporate aircraft. A little more details and I'd be happy to offers some assistance.

This is the 8th in a serious of repaints for countries that flew the North American T-28 in their military. T-28s were used by the Philippine Air Force well into the 1990s, having up to 12 in thier inventory. You will need the FSX North American T-28D VT-5, vt-5-0915.zip. Original model by Tim Conway Updated by Mark Rooks Repaint by PhrogPhlyer Other aircraft in this series are: FSX North American T-28C VT-6 ( T28C VT6.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Cuban Air Force ( T-28 Cuba AF.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Congolese Air Force ( T28C Congo AF.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Taiwan ROC Air Force ( T28 ROC Taiwan AF v1aF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 South Korea ROK Air Force ( T28 ROKAF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 Royal Moroccan Air Force ( T28 RMAF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 Uruguay Naval Air Force (T28 UNAF.zip) More to come.
  12. Two Thud drivers received the Medal of Honor. Speaks to the risks of this mission, to the strengths of the aircraft, and guts of those who flew her.
  13. Nice! Even this horrendous RL paint scheme can't detract from the greatness that is the F-18.
  14. Leaving Thailand for points east...
  15. One of the coolest cowlings ever designed into an aircraft.
  16. I have read many of the posts from years past, and still have an issue with the FSX SDK installation. I installed SDK from disk 1, and it did create folders. Additionally, I changed disabled from true to false in the dll. However, the tools option does not appear after I run FSX, Any ideas? Thx!
  17. Great shot of a great bird. So sad that when we removed these from the Navy's inventory we destroyed almost 500 of them, because the design features are considered sensitive information. This was one of the greats. Interesting how Hollywood learned that "our enemy" (it starts with an I) had some in Top Gun Maverick.
  18. And this being a non-US F-16 in US airspace?

This is the 7th in a serious of repaints for countries that flew the North American T-28 in their military. In 1979 nine North American T-28D Fennec were donated to Uruguay by the Argentinian Navy. These Fennecs were used as a light attack platform until 2000. You will need the FSX North American T-28D VT-5, vt-5-0915.zip. Original model by Tim Conway Updated by Mark Rooks Repaint by PhrogPhlyer Other aircraft in this series are: FSX North American T-28C VT-6 ( T28C VT6.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Cuban Air Force ( T-28 Cuba AF.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Congolese Air Force ( T28C Congo AF.zip ) FSX North American T-28D Taiwan ROC Air Force ( T28 ROC Taiwan AF v1aF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 South Korea ROK Air Force ( T28 ROKAF.zip ) FSX North American T-28 Royal Moroccan Air Force ( T28 RMAF.zip ) More to come.
  20. Keeps getting better! I echo all compliments.
  21. Great shot, and I'm not a big F-16 fan. More of an 18 guy. But at least you brought along someone to pay the bar tab!
  22. Beech Sundowner, if my memory serves me correctly. And, VFR, so must have been 5500 (east is least and west is best).
  23. Bears were still quite active mid '80s cruses too. Biil, do you kno the name of the file for that Oriskany model? Great for any Korea or Nan missions,
