  1. Silly question: Have you switched the CDI mode from NAV1 to GPS? There are a number of useful guides on the official forums: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/how-to-operate-garmin-g1000-avionics/593427

    Runaway prop rpm

I've been futzing with the aircraft.cfg and .air files for almost 20 years now and I have to agree with you. MSFS2020 has actually simplified this diabolical state of affairs by eliminating the .air file, and good riddance! The best tool for adjusting .air files that I have ever used (and still do) is AirWrench. It's payware (from Flight1), it has a steep learning curve, and it only does half the job - which is to set all the tables for you automatically. The fine tuning is done mainly in the aircraft.cfg file. It really is trial and error to begin with, but if you persevere you'll get a 'feel' for what needs adjusting and where after a while. A top tip for you - create a .air file which is empty except for the aircraft title: this is all that AirWrench needs to populate all the other parameters from the aircraft.cfg file. Regarding the Cirrus Jet you mentioned, it's a center of gravity issue combined with an elevator effectiveness issue - go get AirWrench and have at it!
  3. Thanks for the screenshot, a picture really is worth a thousand words! With the External Camera settings selected in your options, change the Filter on the left menu from Assigned to All and search for these assignments: I have my right and left views reversed because I'm a freak...
  4. It's me again - you can move to your required cabin position using the "translate" keys, which by default are the arrow keys. Once you're in position, press Ctrl+Alt and 0 to save the first view. Move to your second position and press Ctrl+Alt and 1, and so on. To recall your saved positions, press Alt+0, Alt+1 and so on. These positions will be lost if you delete your cache or move/edit the aircraft in certain ways, but they're easy to re-create.
  5. Yes it does, there's a GSX profile for the HW A330 on flightsim.to: https://flightsim.to/file/40271/gsx-profile-a330-900neo-headwind
  6. There's a guide on this website: https://vrflightworld.com/2020/11/26/how-to-record-microsoft-flight-simulator-2020/
  7. The quickest way to find your ACTUAL Community folder is this: In MSFS, go to Options / General / Developers and turn on Developers Mode. On the Dev Menu, select Tools / Virtual File System / Watched Bases. Look for the line with “Community” at the end of it. This is the path to your ACTUAL community folder.
  8. Do you have any other Community folder on your system? The one in your screenshots seems to be in the wrong place, is it used by an addon manager program?
  9. The offline gaming option is in the Xbox App on your PC, in the Settings/General window:
  10. If you're sure there are no control assignment conflicts or conflicting mods in the Community folder, it must be a corrupt installation. I would recommend removing the "fs-base-aircraft-common" folder from Packages\Official\OneStore and rebooting the sim just to be sure.
  11. I think they ruin the realism of the scenery, which is why all of mine are switched off, but if you're looking for specific POI's these options need to be ON:
  12. Do you have any of the Working Title mods in your Community folder? After the AAU2 update these should all be removed, along with the PMS GNS530 mod.
  13. This sounds like you have a corrupted autopilot file in the base sim. The cure for this without a full re-install is to delete the base sim folder in question and then re-launch the sim, which will cause that folder to be re-installed automatically. The folder is named "fs-base-aircraft-common" and it's in your Packages\Official\OneStore folder. If you don't want to delete the folder, just move it to your desktop for now and then re-launch the sim. A sim update will download (it's your new "fs-base-aircraft-common" folder) and then you should be good to go.
  14. Meh. The conspiracy-theory, tin-foil hat wearing crackpots have got into the media now. So what. I'm old, gimme FREE STUFF.
  15. I have the identical Logitech Flight Yoke System without the separate AP unit, and I'm having no issues (luckily!). I suspect it's your AP unit that's causing these problems for some reason - have you tried a flight with the AP unit unplugged? It would also be wise to check if there's a recent software/firmware update for the AP unit.

Maybe your Autower version is out of date? There's a version 2.4.0 available: https://christoph.rosenkeller.org/fs/autower/
  17. Here's my installation Khalid, MS Store Premium Deluxe 40th Anniversary edition with all updates and a clinically obese Community folder: The clinically obese Community folder on it's own: So, according to my calculator, 708GB - 367GB = 341GB. This is why I have a 2TB WD Black SN850X main drive with a 1TB Samsung 870 SSD for the disk image backup!
  18. A point I forgot to mention about Microsoft Edge - you can collect Microsoft Reward points, with which you can then buy Microsoft or Xbox Gift Cards to spend in the MSFS Marketplace. So far I've bought the entire South Oak Birds collection for Europe; four or five livery packs for various aircraft; a global road traffic pack; a global airport vehicle pack; a global airport texture pack and I'm thinking about buying a global jetway pack next. It's literally money for nothing - just for using the browser and doing a couple of interesting quizzes while MSFS is launching!
  19. I use the MS "bing" thing browser exclusively and now that I've switched most of the annoying notifications off it's actually pretty good.
  20. MSFS updates are infamous for changing preferences and settings at random and without warning. Have you checked all your control assignments since the update?
  21. Click on the hamburger icon, top left, then select the third item down "Change Language". The site is based in Germany but it's available in 18 different languages!
  22. Search YouTube for MSFS, everything you need to know about anything MSFS-related is there.
  23. Developers are not allowed to give after-sales service on the flightsimulator.com forums, so you would need to go Cockspur's Discord channel https://discord.gg/YUFbu4x7 for advice. However, if you wish to remove the C510: Click Profile at the top of the MSFS main screen, then select the Content Manager screen. Search for Cockspur. Select the C510, then click Delete in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  24. It won't help with your loss of FPS, but there are links to a checklkist, manual and two tutorial videos here: How to operate Boeing 747 - Microsoft Flight Simulator / Official Tips & Troubleshooting - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums
