  1. You haven't given us any details about your system or setup, such as your computer processor, video card, internet connection, etc..

    I agree.

Have to say, I was amazed by the OPs comments on world scenery being poor (in some areas) Admittedly some parts of the world aren’t as good as others… but it’s still ten times better than it was in previous sims. Not sure why anyone would prefer the scenery on FS9 or FSX etc, unless of course PC specs play a part in this.

  2. Hi,

there’s no multi-monitor support yet, but in the mean time you can always run MSFS in windowed mode and drag the window across the screens. It’s not ideal and the views would be a bit stretched.. but it does work. I fly in VR now, but I used to use three screens this way..

As for your tablet.. there are apps from which you can display moving maps. I think you can even cast your pc screen onto your tablet.

    Check these out..

  3. When I first got my hands on MSFS (as an alpha tester) I was amazed that a tiny, little known airstrip near to where I work was included in the sim! I’m pretty sure it wasn’t in fsx or any of the previous sims.

If in any doubt though, try the Xbox gamepass trial as a said earlier. MSFS is more demanding than FSX so you want make sure you have a good enough pc.

  4. I can’t comment on how good the Australian scenery is as I haven’t really flown over that way, but what I will say is.. sign up to the Xbox game pass! It will cost you just £1 / $1 for a month’s trial so you will be able to try the (standard edition) of MSFS for a month! It’s a good way to test your pc specs and see how well it runs too.

Just remember to cancel the Xbox gamepass before the month is up.

  5. A friend introduced me to FS4. I was blown away! lol

He put it on a floppy disc for me and I thought it was brilliant. First one I actually bought was FS5.1 I’ve bought every version since, inc the combat versions… and of course every other flight sim I could get my hands on.. Xplane.. Flight Unlimited.. Proflight....P3D.. and many more.

  6. Nothing wrong with your pc specs. With terrain LOD set to 200 you’re getting good fps. I’d even say LOD at 300 is still good. Not really a problem? If you are wanting more fps though, try dropping render scale a little and you’ll probably find that your fps increases. My render scale is set to 75, Although I fly in VR which is a bit more demanding.

  7. Hi, I don’t know about the P38L but with the H145 (excellent helicopter!) you simply copy the unzipped file into the community folder. Windows will ask if you want to replace the existing ones.. you say yes.. and that’s it.

You start up MSFS and the H145 has been updated. I did mine the other day without any issues, as usual. I discovered that the military one now has rockets and a cannon! Great fun :)

  8. How to roll back? You can’t. People ask this question after every update, but with the sim being online based (mainly) we all need to be running the same version. The updates are all mandatory and there is no option to roll back.

I’m not an expert in these things, but I would reckon there’s something on your system that is causing the crashes, rather than the sim itself. You could of course, roll back to an older nvidia driver. Just checked mine.. & I’m still on 511.23 - is working well.

Are you overclocking anything? MSFS doesn’t always like overclocked hardware. Could it be an addon in your community folder, that hasn’t been updated since the sim update? Could be a number of things unfortunately.

  9. Hi,

Many of us used to have an issue, in which the throttle and rudder controls would freeze up if a pop up menu was open (eg: map) and the mouse/cursor was positioned over this pop up. However, this has now been fixed with the latest update.. or rather it has for me at least, but maybe you’re having the same problem? Does it freeze with all aircraft.. do you have any popup screens open when it happens?

Might be an idea to list your pc specs too.

  10. Hi Kevin,

Have you tried resetting it? I don’t know if it’s the same for the Steam version, but assuming you bought it via the MS Store.. press your windows key and start typing “Microsoft Flight…” so that it appears. To the right.. click on App Settings. Another box appears.. scroll down and look for Reset.

This is “supposed” to revert the sim back to default settings. Might be worth a try.

As for your constant CTDs.. have you overclocked anything? You might want to reduce back to normal settings if so.

  11. Hi, I had a CH Yoke LE for 15-20 years and it worked well. However, I now have the Honeycomb & love it (except for one little problem I get with the short Ethernet cable) but the yoke is fantastic.

Other yokes are also available of course, like this interesting one..

I might be tempted to change my honeycomb for this one day!

Just a thought though.. is there any chance you may have a duplicate control set up, causing the planes to bank to the left? I’ve been there myself, only to remember I also had an old joystick plugged in.

One thing I’d definitely do.. check your keyboard bindings. This has come up on the forum before, where one of the keys was causing a yoke to move to the left.

    Regards
