Steve,
I'm only going to run it on the desktop. I had to copy the old SSD before because it was too small for the updates. I installed a 1T SSD in the laptop and 32G of RAM at the same time. I just upgrading to a better PC.
Ok, no worries

Thank you for the help. This is always one big learning process. I will have my tech just copy the HD from the laptop to the desktop.

I don’t know if that will work. You may have to download it again for the desktop.
You can install it on as many PC’s as you want, but you can only run it on one at a time.

You’re welcome :)

I don’t know why he wants to remove them. Maybe it’s to save loading time…. maybe drive space. I rarely use them myself, so if I am ever stuck for space I might be tempted to do the same.

That’s the correct way. However, unlike if you want to reinstall them.. there’s no “select all†option, so it’s a case of selecting one…pressing delete..and then conforming it. Then the next one..
Quite a laborious job but only takes a few minutes,

Hi, when you say you removed them… I presume you deleted them from the content manager?
Just to test it, I’ve just done it myself. It took several boring minutes.. going through the list..deleting each discovery and training flight..and confirming this each time.
Exited and restarted the sim… no mandatory update though. I’ve gone back into the content manager and selected them all, for reinstalling now.

Hi, you can certainly re-download the update… but I think you would have go re-install the whole sim, as there’s no “uninstall update†or roll back option.
I don’t suppose you’ve got a recent restore point? That might be another way of doing it. I presume you’ve tried repairing the sim.. updating graphics drivers..etc?
Are you overclocking anything? I know the sim was working fine before the update, but if you are overclocking it might be worth changing things back to default settings.

I can’t really comment on the Logitech yoke, although I did own one for about a month (before buying a Honeycomb)
However, this may help…

I didn’t know about that. I presume it works just as well in VR? I’ll soon find out :)
Cheers Tim!
Edit: yep, it works in VR! I'm going to have fun with this one.
It was a bit of a shock when I first started her up though at EGLC. It appears the light switches on my Honeycomb yoke are setup to fire the guns!
It was probably a bigger shock for the ground crew LOL
mid flight, over London..

There are also moving maps which you can display on your phone or tablet
Like this excellent one…
I used to use it, but have since changed to a different map that works in VR

Great!
I’ll update at the weekend when I’ve got the time :)

No worries. They added safe mode with SU6. I’ve been prompted to use it but never actually tried it.

The r7 200 series cards were released back in 2014 - the minimum required card (RX570) was three years later, so it’s unlikely to work.
Of course we don’t know the OP’s other specs yet. In fact we don’t know exactly which graphics card he has either, as Bob has already pointed out.
I understood it that he was loading MSFS in it’s own safe mode (MSFS sometimes asks if you want to run it in safe mode after a CTD) rather than running Windows in safe mode.. but I might be wrong.

Hi Mark,
I personally would never recommend the minimum specs, but would always try to get the recommended specs at least.
I don’t know a lot about your graphics card but I reckon it is under the minimum requirements. The minimum GPU is the RX570, which I gather is a better card. Certainly not as old as yours.
You haven’t said what the rest of your pc specs are, so it might be more than
just your graphics card. What CPU & Ram do you have? Which version of Windows are you running?
Have you bought the sim outright or using the Xbox gamepass? It’s probably too late now, but I always recommend the gamepass (trial) which costs just $1 / £1 for a month, that way you can test it first before buying.

Mark, instead of posting an old movie trailer (even if it did make me laugh) what don’t you just try MSFS for yourself? Assuming you have a pc powerful enough to run it of course.

Welcome aboard Jeff! Glad you tried it and are enjoying it :)

I’ve never owned an Xbox personally, but I doubt you could do such a thing.

Back in 2011 I had one of those “trial flightsâ€. To say it was my first (& only) time at the controls of a real plane I took to it rather quickly. Years of flight simming certainly helped, and back then the sims were no where near as good as MSFS.
As for special awareness.. we do have that now to a degree, with VR.

Have you got anything else plugged in that could be assigned? (not just keyboard)
If not, I personally would delete all assignments.. or at least go through all the controls. It does look l8ke you have a duplicate control.

I hope they fix the bug introduced with SU7, with which the rudder and throttles stop working whenever your mouse/cursor is over a popup menu (weather…fuel…map…etc)
I did read that this would be sorted with SU8 - hope that’s still the case

When you do decide you want to try MSFS, I recommend you sign up for the Xbox Gamepass trial. It costs just £1 / $1 for a month’s trial. That way you can test your pc and see how the sim works before actually buying it.
Just remember to cancel the gamepass before the month is up.

There is also a “secret calibration mode†in the Alpha.
I’ve never tried it though & there’s no reason why you should really have to do it. What I would do first is try calibrating it in windows again (joy.cpl) maybe unplugging it.. probably plug it back in a different socket… maybe calibrate again… even create a new control profile in MSFS ( you can create as many as you want)
I don’t suppose you’ve got a different flight sim you can try it on? Or even a driving sim? If it centres on other games then you know the yoke is fine as it is.
If all else fails then possibly try the secret calibration mode.. but at your own risk.

This may not be it, but always make sure your mouse / cursor isn’t placed over one of the on screen popups.. like the VFR map..etc.
There is currently a bug (should be fixed in next update) which affects rudder & throttle while mouse is over such things.
