  1. Very nice Fredrik! Thanks for sharing! Rick
  2. Yayyyyyyýyy, Wim, way to go! Now, go enjoy your plsnes
  3. Westway- Col says he has the program for this model and he has a possible "workaround" that has worked for him! Try whatever he offers, he has happened upon things in the past and has made things work when others have just offered up, "Try this, Try that" and never finding the things that do work!:rolleyes I trust him and I think you should try whatever he suggests! Thanks Col, I hope you can help westway with this! Rick
  4. Be careful, David, that's a whole lot of washing and waxing on that "Big Bad Boy!" Maybe Jan can help? Rick
  5. And, Wim, the last post above may make some sense to you also? Rick
  6. westway (never got a first name?) Have you ever seen this uiver forum post? Some interesting info if you happen to have the native FSX package, and if you can understand Netherland language? http://www.nederlandseluchtvaart.nl/forums/showthread.php?9606-DC-2-uiver-for-FsX& I don't know, you keep trying to resurrect an old friend that doesn't want to cooperate! I wish you well and if I find anything else, I will forward it to you! Rick
  7. There is something unique to that DC-2 PACKAGE and I think any future problems of adding aircraft to that package will be a problem. If you go into this site's library, they have the package but it is for FS2000. My thinking and I could very well be wrong, maybe someone converted these old files to FSX, put a lock on the package as it is sold, and any mods to the program will be prohibited! Just a guess............... Maybe take another default aircraft and see if you can add a repaint aircraft to that download? We will see what Wim thinks when he reads your current problem! He has the same software as you purchased and maybe he can read his paperwork to see if it has some built in restrictions? Okay, enjoy what's on your new computer and is working for you! Rick
  8. Relax Jan, I'm the pilot, first officer, stewardess, baggage handler, you name it. I might get to you by the time we land! Rick
  9. It's always a pleasant relief when you get things working again as they should be! Sometimes, these things will try your patience, and look, all you had to do is walk away from it from it for awhile, do the same thing you've been doing and BINGO, all is working again! Glad you figured it out! Rick
  10. Whew, glad to hear my eyes are okay! Now, let's see how long it takes for the OP to get back to you for a solution? Rick
  11. Forget about the aliasing! Not really needed if the purchased item is FSX! You shouldn't have to do the alias. Do you know the details on the add-on aircraft, where they were downloaded from, have they worked for you before on an older installation? Just get better screenshots and let all of us go from there. Only thing one could deduct, is you don't have an exact match on the add-on aircraft. The add-ons should work even if they are FS2004. but anything prior to that, forget about it. Plenty of add-on paints on this site's library that should work with your existing uiver DC-2 software.
  12. Jon - Can I get you info from one of the download listing for the GE90-115B. Would that help or is that something you have already tried? Rick
  13. Westway - Did these 2 additional liveries ever work on a previous installation? When looking at the extra paints/repaints on this site, you have a variety of sources. Some are FS2000, but you also have 2002, 2004 and FSX. When adding liveries to say a FSX aircraft, all dna of the add on aircraft have to match exactly as the FSX (parent) aircraft. Add-on aircraft, Sound could be different, panel could be different, which would prevent you from making this an exact match. I wish I could read your printout of your aircraft.cfg but way too small for me! I just had cataract procedure done on both eyes and I thought I was doing good until I saw your printouts! Good luck, you will find your missing link, it will just take time and a little hair to be pulled. Something is not making an exact match. Ever do any aliasing? It's a little work, but so is what you are going thru! You could alias your parent panel to say a Douglas DC-3, and do the same with all the add-ons! When that's done, try the same with the sound folders, aliasing all to the DC-3. I'm thinking these 2 add-on aircraft are something other than FSX! OR easier yet, try other FSX repaints (from this site's library) on 2 different, but FSX, and see if you can see those! I wish you well, but you will figure it out, I am sure. Maybe try to get your cfg images a little larger, so one of us might be able to see something that stands out! Two non FSX repaints will not stand out, only you will know where you downloaded those from! Like Wim says, the textures you've downloaded are made for a variant model! I'll keep watching the replies to this post. It will be interesting to see what you/someone else finds in getting these 2 aircraft to show! Rick
  14. Very nice livery for the Air Canada. They just never seem to "dress up" their paints, but they did a great job with this one, for sure! Enjoy David, looks like you have a "keeper" there! Rick
  15. Thanks David, Eddie, Darren and Adam for your comments! Different strokes for different folks I guess. 3 pointers always worked for me in RW flying, but, now that I am not flying RW, I have the time to try to do wheel landings even in the most complex of taildragger aircraft (flight sim that is)! I always thought of those who consistently wheel landed their aircraft were just "showing off!" But when you get down to trying them, you realize just how hard it is to gain those skills! I asked an Old ex Army flight instructor about the difference in flying taildraggers and his comments were, "Flying taildraggers is like dancing to faster music, you just have to move your feet a little faster!" I think it's more than just that, but, it does make sense in some scenerios! Like the difference in landing a Pitts Special vs a Piper J3 cub! You better be able to move your feet faster in that little hot rod, Pitts! My "hat off" to those who do them and to those that get that bird down on earth in 3 wheels down at the same time! At the end of the day, we all did it correctly (I hope)! Thanks again! Rick
  16. That's how I learned taildragger flying in RW, a Cessna 170B, touchdown with the tail wheel first and then allow the main gear to settle back down to earth again! Worked well for me! Didn't take long for all the Macho Men taildragger pilots to come forward and encourage me to "wheel land!" Not me in landing in short fields, I'll do the three pointer, full flaps landing any day over wheel landings! Not really doing either or in these RW days, so, doesn't make much difference anymore! Different strokes for different folks! Rick
  17. Very nice guys! Hope somebody figures out how to get that pot of gold! Rick
  18. Thanks Larry and Michael!.. Yes, Michael, I love flying the classics, especially the tail draggers. I went for my first airplane ride in my Grandfather's Cessna 180 when I was 5 years old. He flew until he was 87-88 years old and only quit flying because he lost his depth perception and you really need depth perception in a C180! My family idol and he did it oh so well! Funny thing, my dad and grandpa both flew that 180 and I never saw either one of them make a wheel landing, always a "three pointer!" So many nice aircraft on flight sim and I like them all in all shapes and colors! Rick
  19. Oh don't I know about convential gear aircraft! That's whats nice about flight sim, CTRL "C' and you can get comfy all you like! Matter of fact, pop that brewski whenever you like!! Thanks Bill Rick
  20. Yee Haa! Off to the Cantina after that, time for a brewski! Rick
