  1. Thanks Darren, and to you as well! Rick
  2. Very nice "T" !! This paint could hold it's own against anything I've ever seen from Uncle Milton and group! Well, maybe you bare metal Howard is right on up there also! Rick
  3. Have the best safest holiday season! Rick
  4. T - I used your link, found plenty of Shupe postings, but none to include that beautiful bird you have. I did manage to find 2 repaints for the Howard, a Waco Taperwing and a Douglas A-26 Private livery. The hangar keeps bulging at the seams, but hey, when it lets go, I just go and find another one! Love those new downloads, keeps me out of trouble for awhile! Thanks T and enjoy that beauty you have there! Rick
  5. Wow, makes my Howards look like they should be in the salvage yards! Where did you find this gem? Rick:cool:
  6. Thanks Larry, it's just taking a little longer than I thought. Got the L1049G's to fly fairly well, and I tried the 1049H today and it flew without incident, so, I just have to keep at it, until I can find my comfort zone with them! They are fun to fly, no doubt about that! Thank for moral support Larry! Rick
  7. Well, once I got familiar with the L049 and the L1049G "must do's", I was determined on getting this bird to fly correctly. Never could get the L1049H model to cooperate so it went to File 13! Of the two models, I still prefer the L049, but, they are both a "hoot" to fly! The Connie's a queen in it's own right and I'm glad I paid attention to BillD22 and his comments about the Connie! She's a joy to fly once you learn some of the quirks and begin to fly her the way she likes to be flown! This was one of the "tough ones" for me, that's for sure! Rick
  8. Very nice Jan! Many aircraft that might soon be forgotten if it wasn't for you and others! Thanks for sharing! Rick
  9. A very nice aircraft, a new toy for you and it helped getting some fantastic pics! Thanks for sharing Bill! Rick
  10. Thanks Adam, I now have 4 of them! Rick
  11. WELL, I finally sorted things out Charlie Brown! I went right to the Cal Classics L1049H and I knew I must be doing something wrong when the engines started to cry CLUNKETY CLUNK and then the engines died and down I am going on my approach into Charleston AFB RWY33! I quickly searched thru some of the very old posts that you were involved in stating to keep that RPM out of the RED! Here I was doing it just like I would do any other constant speed prop driven aircraft, I would bring the props to High rpm, CTRL F4 2900 RPM! WRONG! I now bring the props up to 2400-2500 RPM with the CTRL F3 and WAH F'ing LAH, I did it, one successful flight in the L1049H!!! Moral of the Story - "Got to read the fine print" in the instructions! I now have 1-049A, 2-L1049G and 1-L1049H and I am keeping them all! Maybe someday I will have a garage sale? Thanks Charlie and I have to say, My parents taught me well in "Don't be a quitter!" I came very close, but kept coming back for more! Thanks again! Rick
  12. Thanks for the reply Charlie, but I think I have lost all interest in the 1049's at this point! The pictured 049 above flies really well! Not perfect, but doable! Hope all is well with you with these upcoming holidays! Rick
  13. Thanks Larry! It's worked out a lot better than it's bigger brother, the L1049G, which I have tried over and over again! flies great until you approach the airport to land, then it wants to drift into a climb attitude to stall? Maybe you have to dump fuel in these older aircraft before landing? Beats me! thanks for the encouragement Larry! Rick
  14. Thanks Jan and Bill! Yes, Bill, I had a L1049 that look identical to this L049 and that was the one that gave me problems! This one will do just fine! Rick:cool:
  15. I tried to find a freeware Lockheed Constellation L1049, but the nicer looking 1049 flew like a scalded dog, but when it came to landing and slowing down with landing gear and flaps, aircraft just kept creeping higher in to a "nose high" attitude, just short of falling out of the sky? The above L049 can give me 250+ KIAS, it's nice looking and flies as it should. In the process of trying to find a L1049, I found a panel which I liked and added it to the 049 and it is just as I like it to be! Someday, I will find a nice 1049 that flies right? If you haven't tried one of these Connies, you are "missing out" on some fun flying! They are a "hoot" to fly! With just one of you in the cockpit, those 4 engines and all those gauges will certainly keep you busy on climbouts and approach to landings, but will certainly give you some relief and entertainment in the cruise! I have truly enjoyed this one! Rick
  16. Nothing against Condoleza Rice, but I'd just as soon have the empty left seat! That is too funny Aaron! Rick
  17. Where is Jan anyway? He shows up for a short while and gone again? He needs to know, "We're not pickin on him! If we didn't like him, we wouldn't say nothin at all!" Merry Christmas Jan! (Just in case he doesn't come on here before Christmas) Rick
  18. Thanks Adam, great pics and it can give us a smile showing, there used to be a way of having a good time! Out in nobody's land, not to hurt anybody! Rick
  19. Bill - I would take this over Donald Trump's plane with all the gold plated hardware and fluff he has managed to squeeze into that B757! I do like this Connie, thanks for sharing! Rick
  20. Poor guy, just tried to do his job last year? Rick
  21. Bill - The "big wheels" running the airlines should take a look at your post. The consumers wish we could step backwards, but , sorry to say, the airline execs only care about the almighty dollar! Do you really think they care about any discomfort? NO!!! Rick
