  1. This is one nice freeware download. I already had the A340 Tom A342 in the Aerolineas Argentinas loaded in the computer, so I approached this as a regular Repaint download. Applied the texture, the aircraft.cfg info to my existing bird and we were good to go! Download included a folder called "Main.dds" which contains a lot of texture files. Never did apply that as the bird flew good as it was! This download came from a Multi aircraft download, and I am thinking maybe that folder is required when you have various other aircraft being used. It had provisions for a -200, -300, -500 and a -600 aircraft for download. Any way, i only applied the f1 texture to the Etihad -200 aircraft I already had loaded and "all is good!" The folder is too small to make a good boat anchor, so I guess it will stay stored in my temp files until I need it OR I decide to can it? Plane flies great. Very pleased I made the move! Rick
  2. Air New Zealands new livery. I kind of like it, but here again, I was always fond of US Airways black liveries, but now I've gotten used to the newer white with blue and red accent colors! This livery, however, gives you the appearance of being related to a Darth Vader era? Different, plane still flies the same and doesn't shoot at anyone! There, I think I did it, but will be open to any comments and/or suggestions! Good to be back again..................... Rick
  3. Funny thing, been pricing out new "high powered" computers and since getting FSX up and running again, all seems to be back to normal. Lost many saved flight plans and find my ltd resurrected flight plans residing in the default aircraft folder? I have only added a few of the e/s/o the USA, I had many going up the west coast, California to Canada, but those will have to wait to see another me, if and when I replace this computer. For now, I am back in business, getting refreshed on all that I thought I had lost, took some time as age is starting to show! Thanks guys and I will try to help where I might be of assistance from time to time. Try to help Mr Zippy when I can, he is a very busy guy! Rick
  4. Thanks Charlie Brown, you think I got problems, wait until you make the plunge with a new computer! Maybe, I'll be able to help you on yours?
  5. Yes, I am getting ready to go thru the same thing. Computer manufacturers have all gotten away from the installed disc drives. I bought a laptop several years ago and i went to use what I thought should have a disc drive, NOT, got to buy an external drive and connect it to your new computer via the USB cable. I am getting ready to purchase a new higher speed computer and I will use that same external disk drive in making that conversion. Hope it helps and all goes well. Just reading some of the newer posts, as I have been away from here for awhile, on Windows 11 not being so great. Most negative comments were meant for Steam edition, and I still have the Gold edition of Flight Simulator X and I am hoping and praying all goes well, as I have a ton of add-on aircraft that still needs to have the dust blown off them! Let me keep reading on! Rick

  11. This info was on the old downloads, complete and repaints! Anyway that we can get this info back? When I search for an aircraft, I would rather download 3 - 33mb aircraft than 1 aircraft of 100mb! Rick (Downwind66)
  12. That was a good tv series though, McHale's Navy!! Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway!

  15. The opening of a note or letter is called the greeting or Salutation The opposite or closing of a note or letter is called a closing. Some refer to it as a Complimentary Closing! Sorry Nels and Charlie, I was not politically correct on this one, but, maybe with the above you will know what I was referring to! How and where to place the CLOSING! after the aircraft pic consummes the entire area of the post..................... Rick (Closing with a complimentary Emoji) )
