Hi Loki I was wondering if he had only the one ssd drive installed if so I dont feel its big enough to handle windows and msfs and steam all on the same drive just my opinion he really ought to have windows on a seperate drive I think.Not talking behind his back lol just stating my opinion which might help him solve the problems hes been having. kind regards Andrew

Hi Bit of a stupid question this but what do i do once I visited a POI how do I get the sim to recognise That I have been there is there a key to press, or something or do you take a pic, I am not sure that why I an asking after just discovering the drone camera i have been taking it slow lol just done ILS landing now for the drone camera i am gradually getting rid of the Assistance which i think is good for a newbie thanks Kind regards Andrew

The prog is called OCCT and youcan downlod here its entirely free https://www.ocbase.com/ easy to use just a matter of monitoring tems there is an option to stress test certain things like graphics cards to see how they are performing. Kind Regards Andrew

Hi I personally dont mind rants lol its a way of letting frustration out in words lol sometimes you just looking for help but this can be very difficult sometimes as you have to try and picture the persons machine and think what you would do in that position no problem with your posts if they are in the same place and i will always do my best to help you if i can or anyone for that matter thats the way i am there is an old Yorkshire saying If you cant do someone a good turn dont do them a bad-en lolAny way glad your up and running did you install that prog i mention its very good :) You can check temps etc as well Kind Regards Andrew

Hi I would just like to say I have been using Steam for various games for the past 15years and had no real serious problems ,but when MSFS came out I made a conscious decision that what ever happened I would not use the steam version I really think MSFS 2020 is to complex for Steam . For gods sake don't try to validate files the msfs app is spread all over the place and steam cant access them all,just back out of steam sign out if you think it might help reboot your PC. If you want to check your GPU etc here is a great free prog for doing that its perfectly safe https://www.ocbase.com/ just download it have a check with it and see what you find . Hi I have downloaded a few addons etc from flightsim .to As good as some are sometimes the names are not very clear once unzipped which makes it quiet hard to keep a check on does anyone know if it's posible to rename the mods /addons when in community folder I know you can can if you open save as when downloading ,does anyone else have trouble with the names of downloads. thanks I know ther are programs /apps for organising community folder but i prefer not to use them. well i have to report that i have just encounted stuttering and shocking frame rate going to 2 and freezing then shooting forward it actually seems worse than it was the trouble with patches and updates they can fix a problem and cause another but then I suppose I am preaching to the converted when i was landing it was like a power point slide show as someone put it not happy with sim at the moment checked my rig working perfect the only thing i can think of is settings I have what i call a very high end rig and I feel I should be able to set some ultra settings but nothing seemms to change the frame rate i dont know where to start tbh.I cant remember how many times I changed the setting lol Im talking about airliners. Hi i am so pleased you have found the mark cant believe I microsft they quick to take your money they could have said are you sure you want it as you already have it greedy feckers any good luck and take take it easy.I am a complete Novice when it comes to flight sim but I am learning something every day I have a Meager 200hrs clocked its a great sim but takes time to get setting right I read somewhere that the preset at the top of the settings page are the way to go There is Ultra ,high end,Medium ,and low end ,what they do is give you a balanced Image quality and speed best to keep your native resolution hope this helps a bit .make a not of your settings now and give one of the presets a go cant do any harm lol. hi I forgot about the disk version not being available in the good old USA I don't see the reasoning there ,I do apologise i just assumed that you were in the uk. I hope you can get it to install and work ,Did you know you can install steam on any drive you wish not sure about external drives ,I have 2 ssd drives I have msfs2020 on 1 and steam on the other i have windows etc on a m2 drive . When you install steam and you get asked for a path to install just tell it where you want to install it, and if i were you I wouldn't try to verify your files it as never been a good thing ,I have train sim and it takes ages and doesen't tell you much lol If you download Steam do it from the valve/Steam website not some bogus site but I expect you know that not much more i can say to help you I don't know about USA but in europe the steam downloads have been very slow. There is an old saying ( If its not Broke don't fix it) I personally have 64gb ram but MSFS 2020 is not the only thing I play Some games benefit from extra memory. regards Andrew

Hi As I have said before I have used steam for games for 12yrs and am quiet aware of the trials and tribulations of steam. I am not sure but could it have something to do with the uploading to cloud to backup your files for msfs 2020 ,the sim doesn't seem to be like other games on steam and stores files all over the place, I would suggest when you have time going through the settings in steam, but with this being a App it might well work different, are you sure you are checking the integrity of Local files ? Steam can be a pain I know but I have several simulators I play through steam on a regular basis, but I never contemplated getting MSFS 2020 on steam I was adamant I was going to get the disc version I feel as though I have something and feel in control of the sim it can get frustrating relying on software , but I have never had to use the discs again to do a re-install .The sim for me is playing very well (Touch wood ) Loads in under 2 minutes I would recommend if you were going to change go for the disk version of course this might not be possible for you just an idear :) Kind reagrds Andrew

Hi have a look at these sites in the links these are freeware you might want to consider https://flightsim.to/ https://www.msfsaddons.org/aircraft/747-8-saltysimulations There Are a lot at these sites but just Unzip and add to your community folder just be a bit carful what you get dont go mad lol you might want to get the flybywire mod from https://flybywiresim.com/ download the installer which puts downloads into your community folder Apart from that Youtube and google are your best friends hope this helps and gets you started. Hi First you should not have to enter the code again it is stored with your MS account, try updating apps in microsoft store click on the 3 dots on the right and side of the screen, make sure windows updates are up to date, and you have the latest graphics driver installed, I think problems can occur when the app is installed from different places I have the disk version and have just done a reinstall there is no quick way to do it lol What i did is left click on the start menu scroll down to microsoft flight simulator, right click choose more and then app settings you you will then see 4 options terminate, Repair, Reset and uninstall i always think uninstall is a bit drastic and use reset but if you feel the simm is bad then uninstall, one thing you have to be carful with is the install path you choose if you are putting it on a different drive to the default witch is C drive set the correct path to the drive you want to use or go with the default just follow the on screen prompts, after its finished installing click continue and the simm will load when loaded go into content manager and install anything that needs it there may be 30 items to install if you need any more help just post i will do my best to try and help good luck. you will need disk 1 in your drive. Hi steve it seems to be installing quicker this time but at 154gb at a time i really donr want to be doing this everyday,oh and then there are another 60 files to install in the content manager you know i thought i was so lucky and it wasnt actually msfs2020 that messed up it was steam of all things just because i cancelled an update well it was in the middle of it lol Anyway steam wouldnt open flight sim wouldnt launch i thought all my triubles Had come at once and oh where to start lol
