  1. Luckily I didn't pay more than $1 for it. I bought the 1 month Xbox to PC trial. I have gone back to FS9. MS/Asobo tried to cut corners with this beta. I am sure I'm not the only person disappointed with the game and won't buy it. Maybe in a year or two if it's ever fixed. But not now. However I feel what we got is Flight II and this new game will be forgotten in a year just like Flight.
  2. That doesn't look right. But to be honest I never tried the 777.
  3. I totally agree with what ya'll are saying. 2D panels all the way for me. The way MSFS2020 does it really bugs me. I hate virtual cockpits. I will never give up my FS9. Oh and I also tried FSX. It was on my computer for only 1 day before I uninstalled it. I actually have it sitting on a shelf next to me in it's original box. Hasn't been touched for years.
  4. This is a bit OT but have you ever played any of the Half Life series? One of my favorites.
  5. I got my PP in 1979 and was also taught to have one hand on the yoke and the other on the throttle. I mentioned this once in the FS9 forums and I was laughed at by a few people. So glad you mentioned it.
  6. I agree. I have tried MSFS2020 and if you take out the scenery you are left with a mediocre sim that needs a lot of work. I stick with FS9 and my addons because I like to fly airliners. And old ones at that. I usually fly the HJG B727-100/200 and the HJG DC9-30. I don't have any interest in any of the current planes in MSFS2020. Fall is rapidly coming upon us. I like how FS9 represent fall with all of the tree colors. I am reading that MSFS2020 will not have seasons. Another negative for me. My favorite season is Winter. I do not want to see green grass and green trees with snow. I did try MSFS2020 with the Xbox for PC pass. I am here because I honestly do want to see MSFS2020 fixed. I do want to see 3rd party old aircraft (I love 2D cockpits. I do not like what MSFS2020 gives us). I also want to see seasons in MSFS2020. Until this new sim has what I want I will not use it again. I might only use FS9 and I am happy and ok with that. In my honest opinion MSFS2020 should have been released with an Early Access warning. It's beta and has a long way to go to be mature.
  7. I completely agree. And for this reason I have gone back to FS9 and my addons. And before anyone says anything yes I have been playing flight sim games going all the way back to the Sublogic one. MSFS2020 is the worst one released yet. Beta game at best.
  8. I completely agree. It's a good kiddie scenery game and that's it.
  9. Skywatcher12 just go ahead and install FS9 on Win XP. It works and it works well. Like I said earlier I still use my original install of FS9 from when I bought it. I bought it the day it came out. I have two computers that I built myself. My older one is what I use for FS9 and FS9 only. My new one I use for everything else including many modern games. I tried the $1 Xbox to PC "trial" of MSFS2020 and quickly got bored with it. I am a RW pilot and tried the C152. After using it a few days I just got bored and also tired of all the glitches with the game. I have gone back to flying airliners in FS9 and I am very happy. FS9 and Win XP just work together. They might be obsolete as some will say. But for just running FS9 it works great for me. You should do what makes you happy and what works for you.
  10. I would wait until MS/Asobo fix the game. The game was released in beta form and should not have been released yet.
  11. Make sure you are running the card in 32bit mode with your correct monitor resolution. I have found out before if the card is set to 16bit it will give the problem that you are seeing.
  12. I installed FS9 on an old Win XP HDD years ago the day I first bought FS9. Over the years I have kept that HDD cloned to another HDD just in case something happens. I still use that HDD along with FS9. So far I have not come across any plane or addon that does not work with Win XP. A few might need SP2. I never installed SP3 on my drive. Hope this helps.
  13. If you want a list of problems just read this forum. I'm not going to do your homework for you. As for this thread I am finished with you.
  14. See. This is exactly what I was talking about. I have been using the sim for 2 weeks. I have experienced numerous issues as have others that have posted here. Obviously you are a fanboy that needs to take off the rose colored glasses. This game is a beta and should not have been released.
  15. I agree! I always read forums and try to find out how a product actually works before I buy it. I appreciate the $1 Xbox for PC "trial". There are some people in this forum that seem to always tell those of us that list issues that we are wrong. I feel that people who are on the fence or who haven't yet bought MSFS should know the bad as well as the good. I also agree that the bugs or things that are broken should not be covered up. No one should be silenced. Not those pointing out issues nor the fanboys.
  16. I noticed this too. I can see Reunion Tower but the ball on top is missing. I live in Allen. I was surprised to see our football stadium looks identical to the real thing. It even has Allen Eagles shown in the end zone. I thought that was cool but Dallas is a disappointment.
  17. That statement is simply not true. I build all my computers as well as for friends and family. I always use AMD. I have a new all AMD system that I just built. No problems in any simulator I use except for all the bugs in MSFS. But those are not due to my computer.
  18. I disagree. I think that MSFS is going to go the way of MS Flight. I feel the new sim will be dead in a year. Especially if MS and Asobo do not listen to their customers. This game should never have been released in the state that it's in. I hope I am wrong. But I strongly feel it will be dead in a year.
  19. Count me in. I have quit MSFS and have gone back to FS9 and my addons. Everything just works. I like to fly from city to city in the airliners. Something that does not work properly in MSFS. I paid $1 for the Xbox to PC "trial" just to try the new sim out. I have shelved it and will use FS9 happily until things in MSFS are fixed. The game was released as a beta and it shows.
  20. Same here. I have the $1 Xbox to PC "trial" so I can test out MSFS. But the game is just a beta kiddie scenery game. No way I will pay for it until the many defects are fixed. Staying with FS9 with all my addons. At least everything works in FS9.
  21. I am glad MSFS has a $1 "trial" mode. I am getting to try it out without feeling ripped off. For now I am not going to buy it. After Microsoft or Asobo fixes the game enough so it's not a beta then I'll revisit the game. And I might buy it then.
  22. Now you are talking!! I love my 2D panels.
