  1. Excellent shots Bill! How'd you get that Alaska Airlines bird in there? All my AI planes are off brand jets from Big Lots.
  2. In all fairness, I'll agree that I too had to find the runway, but since I had a feeling it was underneath me I instinctively pitched down and found it. The scenery is quite impressive though, and I did enjoy the lessons to this point, half of them I guess.
  3. The exact location doesn't matter, as I creep up towards Miami...
  4. I don't have VR but I'll check this when I get home, as I also want to load from final approaches.
  5. Cool stuff Chris! I think it's beyond cool you are using older versions of FS. Keep it alive!
  6. Drain the swamp!! Just kidding, I don't do politics. This is one of the most unique shares I've seen in awhile!
  7. Nice shots Bill! I also enjoyed the history lesson.
  8. Can you give us a screenshot of what it looks like when trying to enter the data?
  9. That's a beautiful area. I like the area on the other side of the Sierra's as well, for the contrast of sharp mountain peaks and desert.
  10. There is a logbook that can be accessed, which will show you limited amounts of data. This will show you how much time you've spent in each aircraft by event, but I'm not sure if it provides a total for each aircraft. I don't have it in front of me, but I was looking at it last night. Do a google image search and you'll see an example.
  11. Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. I do use airnav, and it works well for the most part. Finding VOR and NDB's is a bit more challenging for me. Many of the larger international airports on the west coast I have memorized VOR freq's, but even I will forget certain #'s depending on the day.
  12. I use active pause to take screen shots, but I haven't seen that happen. I'll mess around with it when I get home and see if I can reproduce it.
  13. Good post. I appreciate your well thought out analysis. While I personally love the new sim, I do see some of it's shortcomings. I currently have 2020, FSX, and FS9 installed, and enjoy each for what they are. I wish 2020 was more user friendly at times, but I can't lie, I do love exploring VFR. FSX I love for the extra payware addons like the qw787, and I love FS9 for the classics and basic program stability. What a fun time to be a simmer, and I've never even touched P3D or X-Plane. Happy flying!
  14. My two cents. I love this new sim, as I can travel so many places and see more accurate scenery. However, it's got a steeper learning curve, and I find the UI a bit frustrating. Navigation, finding maps, understanding the GPS of a particular aircraft takes time. I haven't used the payware manual yet, but creating a flight plan, and picking waypoints and such seems far less user friendly than in the past. I'll have to keep working on this. In flight, having access to a map that shows me all the frequencies or nav aids like in FS9 or in FSX doesn't seem to be here in MS2020. That said, the more I play with it, the more I understand, but I miss the simplicity of menu's past.
