  1. I hope you're looking at the Samsung CRG9. I've been jonesing for that for a couple months (tax refund purchase). Currently, MSFS does not support multiple monitors in full screen mode. You can do it in Window mode, but I've heard it's kind of a pain in the a**. Otherwise, the rest of the system will give you very good performance - maybe not full Ultra, but close to it. Personally, I'd get 1tb or 512gb ssd for your MSFS installation and use the 1tb HD for back-up. SSD's are pretty cheap especially if you're going to spend over $1100 on the monitor.
  2. On the main page, there's a tab call Profile. In it, it lists the various statistics for the default pilot. Why, oh why, are distances in meters and times in seconds??? is there something I don't know about, like "in real life, all pilots statistics are kept that way". Or, is Asobo just too F*ing lazy to do conversions????? I'll settle for distances in kilometers, vs miles because of the differnces in metric vs imperial. But, time in SECONDS????? come on!!! there's no excuse except laziness for not doing the conversion. Then the real kicker, before you go to the details page, flight time is listed in HOURS!!!! Proof, they know how and CAN DO to do the conversion!!!
  3. Sounds like a monster system that should handle msfs without a problem. However, you failed to mention one very important component which is critical to the softwares enjoyment - the monitor. If you're running it to a 27" 4k monitor, then it's complete overkill and a waste. So, what kind of monitor(s) are you using?
  4. you may be right. But if you ask a smart-ass question, you should expect a smart-ass answer. The question he asks is an attempt to stir things up, just like all the "I'm thru with MSFS" posts a couple months ago. It is meant to pit haters against fan-boys. It should be ignored.
  5. BLehman... Nope. It will never be complete. Because just like reality, it's always changing. If you want software that is done and will not be updated, buy something else. I would suggest MicroSoft Links 2003. It hasn't been updated since 2009. That would be a good choice for someone of your capabilities.
  6. Hal... excellent info... thank you. But I am only using one monitor. Instead or in addition... I found out if you switch OFF the "VFR Map UI Panel - open at start" in Options/Assistance/User Preference, then turn them on once your ready to fly (on runway. after "Fly") controls are maintained even if you move the mouse into the Window. to that end, you should switch all the UI Panels at start to OFF. another problem self-solved, after asking for assistance :)
  7. Hmmm.. thats interesting... the thing is, just moving the mouse - not even clicking anything - causes Yoke control to be completely unresponsive. Not sure how mouse control assignment would be able to detect the mouses location on the screen, but I'll check thru just to be sure. I fly using the yoke primarily, but also use the mouse and some keyboard assignments. I'm running my monitor one step down from 3440x1400 to 2560x1080, but it also does this on the higher setting. It's had this problem whichever settings I use. It also did this on the previous graphics card RTX 2060 S. Using a RTX 3070 now. It would seem to me that the application is detecting that my mouse is within the boundaries of a layered window, and for some reason, not freezing the controls as is, but resetting them to zero. Once I move the mouse out of the over-layed window, yoke controls return. It's a standard CH Products FlightSim Yoke - no pedals (thus the keyboard rudder control).
  8. Tim, can you try taking off in the 172 (either), with the vfr map open... start your climb, them just move your mouse into the vfr window, and watch what happens to the aircraft... mine act like all controls have been shut off, and the plane just dives into the ground.
  9. Has any one else noticed that when your on a climb or windy conditions, if you move your mouse onto an open window like the nav window, or the flight log window when flying a bush trip, that the aircraft reacts like no one is at the control? Even when flying at altitude, in clear skies, when you move your mouse to scroll the text, or use the "get back on track" , the aircraft drifts. Also if you accidentally leave your mouse in an open window, the yoke does not work at all! This may be related to an issue reported using the A/P, because that would also include moving the mouse onto an open window. Is there a cure for this? can anyone else confirm this ?
  10. the only things I have not downloaded are the Japan stuff: challanges, airports, and other Japan related content files. I have no intention of flying Japan, so until I do, not gonna dowenload them. Otherwise, everything else is "Up to Date". These are the MSFS Bush Trips listed in my Content Manager: Balkins Nevada/Yosemite Patagonia Alaska These are the 3rd Party Bushtrips: Glacier National Park Scandia NE Adirondaks
  11. I've enjoyed flying the bush trips and have downloaded some 3rd party trips. I noticed in my Profile, it lists completed bush trips. It reports I've completed 4 of 52 trips - which is correct. But, in the Bush trips menus, it only lists the MSFS(4) and the ones I've downloaded(4) - Where are the other 48 trips???
  12. Once again... reboot saves the day. The number 1 help suggestion in the world for all computerized devices. When all else fails - reboot.
  13. just to be clear... your tool bar is ONLY accessable when you roll your mouse over the top center area of your screen... a horizontal line with a pointer in the middle appears, you then click on that to reveal the whole bar. Unless... your talking about the Windowed tool bar, which only appears when you run in Windows mode - as opposed to full screen mode. Or, are you talking about the tool bar that is visible when you're in Developers Mode... in which case you're needing to do some MSFS system development or project - which should only be done my very. very experienced modder, programmers or developers. So, which is your missing "toolbar"?
  14. I noticed that missing rushmore on the first day. I attributted to the developers nationality (French) rather than a deliberate omission. To them, it's just not that important. And that's OK. Just like Hoover Dam is woefully understated, as is Niagrara Falls. They have other things to focus on other than American landmarks. Hopefully, the North American update will include many of the landmarks we Americans hold dear, and take for granted. In the mean time, there are scenery downloads to compensate. Right here on FS.com there are several (Mt. Rushmore, Niagara Falls, Devils Tower and Yosemite) available for free, and the wonderful Washington Landmarks from DRZ - well worth the cost.
  15. in Options/Assistance/Piloting... Take Off Auto Rudder...set on ON, will keep you straight on take-offs and landings. I only fly prop planes so I don't know how well this will work on others, but assigning Left and Right braking, and going SLOW will allow you to feather the brakes needed to turn. Using your Yoke to steer works only slightly, and requires speed - because your using the ailerons to steer with. Using the Zero and Enter also works for Rudder control... but again, gently feathering - press lightly and quickly.
  16. I recently upgarded from a 32" 1440p flat to a 35" 1440p curved. It took a day or two to get used to, but it seems perfectly natural to me now. Recommend keeping it at least 30" to 34" from your eyes for normal PC usage. But, I'm down to 24" for MSFS and it looks great. Even better is if you do any sim racing. I have Assetto Corsa and it's incredibly immersive.
  17. 25 minutes from opening MSFS and getting the update notice to complete installation. Restarted, loaded in 1/2 the normal time - no "Any Key". All settings retained. Gained 7-8 fps over the last version. nVidia RTX 3070 ordered from Best Buy at 8:06am (cdt). Order confirmed, Delivery to local store on Nov. 3.
  18. and stay OUT of Developers mode, unless you're a developer!
  19. And you tried this to the Community on your C: drive, right? Here's what I did when I was having problems with long file names. Create a shortcut on your desktop by using windows explorer to navigate to your C drive Community folder. Onece there right click on the Community folder and "Create Shortcut". Save the shortcut to your desktop. Open the folder you unzipped your download to, highlight the top level folder and right click to "Copy". Double click on the Community folder shortcut on your desktop, once it opens, right click and "Paste" It's worked for me.
  20. This is the folder you should be moving or copying to the Community folder: Asobo_208B_GRAND_CARAVAN_EX_Myanmar thats all...nothing else. All the rest is contained within that folder. Try just using that folder. And if you can't move it to the M: drive Community, try the C: drive.
  21. When I load add-ons to the Community folder, first I unzip the file to a specific (and temporary) location, then copy the main folder -(not all the serarate subfolders)- to the Community on my C drive. My installation is on a different drive, and MSFS automatically moves it there, but leaves a reference file with directions to the install drive. But, I found it best to install it to the C drive Community, others have differing opinions, but it works just fine for me. There's a very nice instruction in this forum - search "accessing Community folder". Also, check in the location you unpacked the file to, for a readme.txt file for instructions on which folders need to go the Community.
  22. seeems to me that Developer Mode is a pretty common link in many many problems. I've noticed, the one or two times I've used it, it doesn't always exit the way you'd think. I exited it once, and the stats remained on the screen but without the windows bar. So, I went to turn it on, then off again. The stats were still there. So I exited to desktop and restarted the sim, and no more stats on the screen and flights resumed to be recorded in the log book. Bottom line, I'd recommend staying out of developer mode unless you have a very specific reason. And even then, restart the sim after using it.
  23. excellent news... and there's nothing to report from that other site too. So, 20H2 must be good to go. Well done.
