  1. as far as we know... there is no more cockpit/virtual cockpit.... it's only virtual cockpit. all the gauges work, all the switches, buttons, toggles and rollers work. There is an option, but you must use your mouse - right click + hold to pan the view in both the cockpit and the exterior views. I myself fly using a yoke/pedals, the mouse and the keyboard.
  2. excellent... thanks loki... you're becoming my go-to guy :) I wanted to get a screen shot of the Hoover Dam, which was beautiful in FSX. But, not so much in 2020. But I can understand it. It's build by a non-American company, which is fine, but I guess we can't expect everything American to be built out right away. anyways, here's the screenshot of the now earthen dam near Boulder Arizona. 3. efanton... 11gb of Rolling Cache consists of SE Wisconsin, Chicago, Las Vegas and northern Arizona. btw... Hoover Dam in Arizona is NOT build up graphics. It looks like a big pile of sand up close.
  4. Loki... that worked just fine. I created the folder on the nvme drive, however, it did not move the current Rolling cache file to the new location. So, i copied it from my C drive to the new drive and replaced it. It worked just fine. I also change the path of my manual cache to the new location. Just to make sure it wasn't still looking on the C drive, I moved the file that wasn't moved to the new location out of that folder. No issues. So I just saved myself 11gb on my C dive :) The only effect I could see when I reloaded the program was it reset my statistic in my Pilot Profile. Not the total flight time, or the Nav Log, just all those other stats. Also noted on the loading page, after the Any Key page...one of the segments loads much faster. click to menu is now under 3 minutes. yeah!
  5. loki... so, just create a folder, like MSFS local cache, on the drive i want it on, and put that path in that setting? no special name? what happens to the 'local cache' thats at the current location? does it get moved? copied? if copied, can I delete the old one? Should I delete the current cache file first, then change the localtion?
  6. I have my MSFS 2020 installed to my Samsung 500gb MVME drive, but the local cache file remains on my Windows C drive, in the Users folder. There appears to be a way to move the Cache file in settings General/Data/Rolling Cache Settings. I'd prefer to have this caching on the faster drive (the NVME). Has anyone moved their Rolling Cache ? If so.. how... and did it make any differnce?
  7. golson... Try this thread: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?324135-Yoke-configuration-not-working&highlight=control+profile There's also a good video on YouTube... search for MSFS 2020 control assignment
  8. In Options/General/Music Selection - there are 3 music themes to choose from. It must be buried deep, because I could not find the path to where those sounds are stored, and even then, if we'd be able to modify them with our own music files.
  9. have you tried Options/General/Accessibility/Show Tool Tips - on/off?
  10. on a rather old motherboard (Asus Z97-A) with an I7-4770K, 16gb of ram, from a 500gb nvme drive: click icon 0:00 Opens Window 0:32 Opening Credits 0:42 Press Any Key 1:12 Updates 1:30 Cessna C172 1:47 Main Screen 3:19 so, yeah... thats a lot to load up.
  11. I'm not familiar with the Yoke your using, but in order to use the Prop Angle throttle, you'd need to assign the flaps to an Axis, if one if available for that. If not, you'd have to assign the flap movement to either a toggle, or a series of buttons. On my CH yoke, I have it the Decrease Flaps assigned to the up motion of a toggle, and the Increase Flaps assigned to the down motion of the same toggle. Works great
  12. under the Gear Icon, click the Fuel to 'Add" the icon to the drop down menu. Then click on the Fuel Icon, and move the slider. In the General Settings, there's also one for Unlimited Fuel, you could turn that to ON, and never have to think about fuel.
  13. I was stuck on the press any key page also, then I read a tip, right here in the forum, that said you have to have the xbox app installed on your windows 10. I installed the app, created an account, and VOILA!!! the install picked right up where it left off. When I clicked the 'Any Key"...it immediately began to download, and set up the sim. so, try that.
  14. hey grandad... there's a recent thread here with set up instructions and recommendations - please check it out. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?324135-Yoke-configuration-not-working
  15. actually, for CH Flight Sim yoke you need the CH Control Manager app... available on the CH Products website. Windows 10 does not support calibration anymore.
  16. I found the easiest way to refuel is, when your on the runway, click on the drop down toolbar, then Fuel... slide the slider to whatever percentage of full you'd like. If your toolbar doesn't have the fuel icon, just add it using the Gear icon on the right.
  17. I just bought a CH Flight Sim Yoke USB, and yes, there is NO PROFILE in MSFS 2020 for probably the most widely sold flight yoke - but thats for another thread. I contacts CH and they said it's up to MS to provide the profile, and then told me how to map the yoke to the controls. Well, I'd already done that. I also logged a support request with MSFS for a Control Profile, but I'm guessing I won't be hearing from them for a while. But if we flood them with this request we might become a squeaky wheel :) Anyway, I've attached an snippet of my xls spreadsheet of my mappings. I made if for the Cessna 172, but there are lots of places to add more for other aircraft. It's very basic, but it will get you in the air. I've included the mapping paths to make it easier. PS. The Mixture and Prop Angle need to be in the middle to start. Feel free to use and improve and please share your ideas.
