Beautiful shots!

If you acquiesce at the start of such shenanigans you give these companies tacit permission to continue practices of which you disapprove; and once they are established they do not care what you think. So you then go along with them and monetarily support abhorrent business paradigms, or you ignore them and find your enjoyment elsewhere. To each his own.
And they don't care if you don't purchase their product. The world is a changin'. Either adapt to it or be left behind.

I sure hope this new product comes in a box with discs which I can use at my discretion without waiting for someone else to approve it!
Tying up my computer for hours at a time while downloading a program, then downloading modifications or "updates," which really means corrections of their errors, on a continuous basis isn't my idea of enjoyment. I/we shouldn't have to "log in" every time to use what I/we have already paid for!!
You are going to need to stick with your FS2004 then.

How about for all the planes that are locked with encrypted files?

I have the same joystick for FS and do not experience delays, but then again I don't hold down my assigned Trim buttons, I just click to get my trim. Even multiple clicks do not get delayed.
-
FSX has always worked with Win 11 and no hoops to jump through.
-
FSUIPC runs hidden in FS2020 no matter what. Why don't you just set up the controller right inside FS? No special programs needed for that.
-
Well in the newest sims you wouldn't be able to do many of the things you enjoy. And you need a modern OS and computer, no legacy stuff.

Just go ahead and stick with your FS2004.

If you had the full version you can fly worldwide.

Great shots! Soooooo realistic right out of the box!!

Some starting points:
Find NOAA archived data.
Download an hourly file.
Run AS in offline mode.
Point AS to the hourly file you downloaded.
All this is from memory. The AS User Guides might explain it step by step. I know in some versions we did.

Technology advancements. As technology advances, programs are written to take advantage of those advancements. They cannot be added as patches so code needs to be rewritten and this takes money.

Or don't make a choice and refresh the whole ATC system at once.
-
After changing/setting the weather, are you refreshing the ATC system by moving the sim time forward or backward by 1 minute? Or I do believe there was a FSUIPC setting that did this automatically for you.

Why would your post be deleted? I haven't seen anything in this thread that potentially breaks any rules.Let's be perfectly clear here that I have not reported a single post in regards to this topic. Please know what you are talking about before posting, RJ.

No, it's for PC also. All MS games are now under the X Box label.

Not in the middle of June, lol!
Nice shots of my home airport.

1. File has been deleted.
2. We need the crash report from Windows.

No, the details are out of my range of knowledge. But in general it would mean finding the .bgl file for those mountains and then editing the file. Yes, you changed to winter, but what date? There is a 5th season that is set by the date called hard winter. Also note that you are going to get snow textures everywhere, not just at those mountains.

I've had a look...I selected 'Winter Wonderland', saw the snow right down to sea level.
Switched to 'Custom weather' but can find no way to only have the snow on the mountain tops. Is it possible, I'm obviously missing something here? Thanks for your help.
You cannot add snow just to the mountains by using the weather menu. You would need to start to edit scenery files that are related to those mountains.

No, MSFS NEVER uses that much memory.

New ownership, new rules. All is good.

I run Win 11 and FSX and the bar works normally.
