  1. Just happened to me today. ATC just quit talking to me while I was starting my descent. So I completed the flight by myself. Just followed my waypoints and descended on my own. Luckily I was at my home airport so I was familiar. Very annoying though.
  2. Personally I love it. Yes, it has its quirks here and there, like their servers going down etc, but I haven't even attempted to reinstall FSX. Just no desire to go back.
  3. True, but, unless things have changed, at one time the Google map was deleted from the program because Google issued a cease and desist order.
  4. I have an old Saitek x52 joystick and throttle that work just fine. I managed to find a program through Logitech's site to allow me to program the time and such, but default, I was able to program everything. Installing: aircraft should go into MSFS community folder.
  5. I don’t know if it’s related but they’re having server issues.
  6. Currently having server issues. It’s on their end, not ours.
  7. While I didn't have any problems with the updates, I understand your negativity. I personally enjoy FS over FSX, but that's me. I'm not looking to acquire a license, so for me it's a great leisurely past time. I did buy Vegas scenery as I too was disappointed in the airport which in real life, is near my workplace, but also the default scenery didn't even have Raiders Stadium. I'm a huge fan of the free Airbus FlyByWire. It's damn near payware quality, so I'm happy. As I've so often said, to each their own. I wouldn't go so far as to call it the "absolute worse release" tho. Sorry for turning this into a FS thread, but I just wanted to respond to Flytv1.
  8. Ah, the “dead reckoning” era I take it? Computers can be a PITA, but they also make things easier in my opinion. Just program and go.
  9. “ I might be stirring up a flame war here, but P3D runs rings around MSFS2020. Even more so if you put some work into it.” Not by me, no. Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. I have an ex-shipmate who built himself a full 737 cockpit and P3D is ALL he flies. He swears by it. Which is fine. Myself, personally, coming from FSX to MSFS, was akin to going from FS 2002 to FSX.
  10. I've heard that too; actually the MSFS engine as a whole will only show precipitation.
  11. I have the FBW A320 Developer version, and have no weather radar either. I was told however, that the experimental version has a working one, but I'd lose alot of the added features if I switched. Cabin announcements, vapor trail effects, etc. Not worth it in my opinion.
  12. Guess you could start here: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/forumdisplay.php?12-Cockpit-Builders And Youtube.
  13. I figured it out. Duhh me. My native resolution is 1920x1080.. Sim resolution was maxed out at 3840x2160. Once I changed the sim resolution to match the native, all is well. Lol
  14. I use Simbrief to create a flight plan. Much easier. It’s also free to create an account.
  15. That’s what I meant. Alt + enter. Zoo sim the screen too much..
  16. So after a driver update to my video card, when I hit ctrl + alt to minimize the screen so I can access the Simbrief page (I’m on one monitor) like I’ve always done before, now it zooms in the MSFS screen so close that I have to ctrl + alt out of it. Is there a setting I missed? I noticed after the driver update, I had to re-do my graphic configuration; it was reset to low. Thanks.
  17. “ my position is I’m sitting down facing forward”. ~Airplane!
  18. Um, yay you I guess? I couldn't go back to FSX and the monopoly game looking houses and such now. While I do miss my QW 757, I find the FREE FBW A320 a superior change. And of course, buzzing my house in 3D instead of the generic or flat photoreal scenery is still so cool to me.
  19. No and no. They are simply charts to give you ILS frequencies, approach altitudes, etc. Used in conjunction with Simbrief, they help plan your flight with up to date weather.
