  1. Damn that's horrible. I would've exited out and redid the flight fresh. No way could I land with those frames!
  2. Once I bought my new gaming pc (specs in sig), I did the $1 trial thing and was instantly hooked. I don’t have a major setup, but it’s enough. Recreating my RW flights and seeing almost the exact same things I saw in the game as I did in real life blows my mind every time!
  3. Sad to hear SAS is in bankruptcy. As an outsider, they appeared to be a successful overseas airline. Great shots!
  4. Yes these are annoying but they don't bother me that much. I fly every day now and always have a blast. I never flew that much with FSX..
  5. My issue: the Airbus 310 doesn’t show in my hangar; just shows a partial interior shot.
  6. It was named McCarran after the guy who founded it. Turns out they found out he said some racist things back in the 60's(Didn't everybody then!?)so they demanded the change. Harry Reid was chosen as he was a long time senator from here and he championed the name change cause. Without getting too political, I'll just say I was against the entire name change idea, as I disliked Senator Reid and I thought the reasoning was lame...
  7. Delta Airlines flight 1634 KLAS-KSLC, with continuing service to KSFO. A320 FBW. Landing in SLC, visibility was poor due to snowy winter storms...accurate, according to my weaher app...
  8. When I choose a destination airport, the Simbrief plan doesn’t get imported and the a320 uses the MSFS plan instead. So I’m guessing it’s possible. Just don’t use the flypad to plan a route.
  9. Back to Sept 21 release. 5.12 I think? I updated just yesterday to the newest drivers and that's when all this started.
  10. Well I rolled back to the previous driver and lowered my settings to medium. So far so good. Hope it lasts.
  11. I'm getting the following error now as MSFS is loading: "Microsoft Flight Simulator has encountered a graphics problem. This could be due to the video card overheating, overclocking error, or faulty driver. MSFS will now close." Specs are in my sig. I've lowered the graphics from ultra to high and now medium; same error. Is it an update bug or do I really have an issue with my card? Other games run fine?
  12. That’s why I downloaded and committed myself to learning the FBW A320. Much better than default. Everything works as it should, including the AP.
  13. It's not MS Flight Sim, but I still have Flight Unlimited III with the original manual, and in it, it states "fly in and around the state of Washington only. While it would be nice to fly anywhere in the world, that's simply not feasible. Imagine how many discs that would entail!" I still chuckle at that line. How far we've come for sure!
  14. Yeah I meant UTC, but don't quote me on that being an issue. I thought I read that someplace: a user said London Heathrow was abandoned as well but it was around 3 am UTC time, 9 am his time. I could be wrong though. Not having the program myself, I wish I could be of more help.
  15. Pardon the dumb question, but are you online while playing? It’s a live online deal. Also—— what time of day is it when you fly? I heard that also makes a difference; if it’s late night at the airport, you won’t see anything. (Sim time, not your time)
  16. I don’t have it but reading the guide, it says you’ll need to uninstall AIG as the two are not compatible with each other. Keep in mind also, it’s a LIVE program so at certain times of day, you may not see any aircraft at all.. I’m staying away at the moment, as tempting as it looks.
  17. No issues here. I don't use VR, but I did notice the VFR map looks different now, as in better.
  18. I do use Simbrief. And yes, it’s FP seems more “streamline” as compared to MSFS’s FP. I guess having never been a pilot and never been in the pilots seat, your analysis is correct, in that, as a passenger, I don’t feel the gentle turns and also I don’t stare out the window during the whole flight.
  19. It’s ok, I know he was referring to me. Thanks for the answer guys. Makes sense, all of them. (Incidentally, in the “how’d you pick your screen name” category, King Norris was the band name of a Howard Stern radio show crew member.)
  20. Possibly. I remember in FSX I could do direct routes and not use the FMC at all, and it was a straight line flight to the destination. Even a short flight in MSFS (Vegas to Reno, for example), has a couple waypoints that require banks as you say, but in my real life flight, it seemed to be a straight shot.
  21. So anytime I fly in real life, I feel like it’s a pretty straight cruise. In other words, the only time the jet turns is after takeoff and during approach. In the sim, however, following waypoints aren’t straight shots; there are many turns involved. Doesn’t seem real to me. I’ve been curious about this since FSX. Why is that? Thanks.
  22. Delta flight 1416 from LAX to Puerto Vallarta. My first RNAV landing that was successful.
  23. I was a late bloomer, having bought it in February of this year. So my hours are small but I fly just about every day.
