Everyone has different tastes when it comes to scenery, so the author wanted to offer an alternative to the inland water that is currently on the NuVersion 2.0 water add on. After many hours of viewing photos and videos of beautiful rivers and lakes from across the country, it was realized that this wasn't going to be an easy task. However he managed to produce a color texture that hopefully you will agree is fairly close to the way many rivers and lakes actually look. This was one of the toughest textures to produce because the color will vary according to the time of day. Density and blending was touchy in order to maintain a realistic natural look from dawn til dusk. NuVersion Water Environment 2.0 is required (NUVERSION_WATER_ENVIRONMENT_2_0.ZIP). By Melvin Roden.

    FS2004 NuVersion Water Environment. These textures have been in development for more than three years. The goal was to create realistic looking water for Flight Simulator 2004 that could be compared to real world water environments. Many hours have gone into color matching/blending to achieve a look that is realistic at all times of day, night, dawn and dusk. Not too clean, not too murky, and not overly reflective. However, FS2004 is not exactly "next gen" so there are limitations as to what can be done with it. You will find that the quality here is comparable to other payware programs that are available these days. You will need to have your scenery settings set to "Ultra High" but don't worry, these textures have hardly any effect on frame rates at all. Effects like wing guns, explosion or 16 inch ship gun comes now with proper sound in FS2004. Mostly they worked visually in FS2004 but the sound which is linked to the effects did not work. Now a method has been found which makes effect sounds also functional in FS2004. Of course this option works also with those effects from other aircraft and ships.
