  3. CFS2/FS2000 PBJ-1 Of VMB-413

CFS2/FS2000 PBJ-1 Of VMB-413 stationed at Espiritu Santo in February of 1944 called "Waitin' n' Wantin'" in the standard Marine colors of the PTO. VMB-413 was the first naval squadron to be issued the PBJ in combat readiness. Over 700 PBJ's were received by the US Navy and a good amount were re-issued to the US Marines as land based bombers. Althought this was its primary role, they also served with the US Navy on ASW (anti-submarine warfare) patrols. The Navy issued these with special radar and replaced the standard bomb racks with racks to carry depth charges and torpedos. There was no other apparent reason for the Navy to receive these aircraft other then that there was such an abundant supply of them from the Army that the Navy and Marines were willing to try their luck with these aircraft based upon their successful war record. Original by Roger Dial. Flight model by Bruce Thorson. Sound by Mike Hambly. Repaint by J-P Demmerle.

  6. CFS2 French Lockheed P-38 Lightning

CFS2 French Lockheed P-38 Lightning. The U.S., because of its lend lease agreement with allied nations, sent a limited number of P38's for use by the French. Most of these aircraft were of F-5 variants for photo recon, yet there were a few that were of the standard J variant. This perticular aircraft is of GR 2/33 which flew over Europe during 1944. The French used many different variants over a long period and in all campaigns from North Africa to the main continent. Original by Hugh Stoults and Gryphon Aviation Repainted by J-P Demmerle.

  7. CFS2 Lockheed P-38J Lightning

CFS2 Lockheed P-38 J Lightning. Towards the end of the war and shortly thereafter, The US sold P38 J models to the Chinese government. Although there is little documentation regarding this, aircraft would have represented a standard livery of the Lightning in Chinese colors. The addition of the shark mouth and the writing is a guestimation as it is unsure as to whether the Chinese Airforce allowed individual markings or not. This is a fictitous P-38J-25-LO named "Flying Tiger" in memory of the AVG that did so much to help thwart the Japanese advancements. Original by Hugh Stoults and Gryphon Aviation. Repaint by J-P Demmerle.

  23. CFS2 Bristol Blenheim IV

CFS2 Bristol Blenheim IV. The Blenheim was developed as a military bomber from a civilian transport that distinguished itself for high performance, in particular a very good top speed. It was consequently adopted by the R.A.F. as a light bomber and heavy (night) fighter. The first serie suffered for lack of defensive power and many were shot down during the first months of war. The IV serie had an heavier armament and served on all fronts during WWII, being lately substituted when more modern planes. By Corrado La Posta.
