  1. Just swapped out my Ryzen 2700 for a 5600x and what a big surprise. On the RWY at UK2000 EGGD I was getting 15-17 FPS and now getting 32-33. At Mark Taylors Bristol City scenery I was struggling at 5-6 and I'm now getting in the 20s. The sim as smooth as silk and my settings are completely maxed out. I knew that my system was CPU bound, but it's simply rocking with this £300 upgrade. I will check it out over countryside and in a few other settings later, but I'm blown away ATM.
  2. The only CTD ive had to date was after installing the mega liveries pack. I suspect that this this was due to the long file names period I have since corrected the registry entry to avoid a recurrence.
  3. Not a data issue as too many of us are getting it if you read other forums. I've noticed quite a few of these bumps in the UK especially around EGGD where I do a lot of my flying. They relate to the LOD in the new mesh and will be fixed in the next update.
  4. I plan to get a bigger SSD soon and to avoid any issues, I will simply clone my 250gb SSD onto a new 1 terrabyte SSD. I hope that goes well, but if there are problems, I will still have the old SSD to fall back on. I did this wit Windows and FSX a few years ago, but will have to revise the process as I've forgotten now having not done it for many years.
  5. My sliders are up to max. Also check that photogrammetry is on in the data settings - the last update turned mine off.
  6. A big thank you from me Keith. Looking forward to downloading shortly. BTW, do you referee football matches or is that your namesake í ½í¸„
  7. Just a shame that we cannot have liveries for real world traffic linked to their flight numbers.
  8. Have you turned up the 3 sliders in the graphics settings? one of them turns up buildings textures. I have all mine on maximum.
  9. Generally with CTDs, I initially look at what addons I may have recently installed. Not specifically related to your issue, but worth a mentiin for others having issues
  10. I've tried various settings for both and TBH, I've not really noticed much, if any difference to performance or loading times. My manual cache covers my local area and whilst set to 10gb, the area only uses 2 gb. Maybe my internet speed of 50 mb means I don't really need to cache anything at all. Any thoughts? discuss.
  11. I read that someone who tested 32 gb found that his msfs was regularly using 24 gb of ram and he found 32 gb smoother and had less stutters. I intend to upgrade my ram in the near future.
  12. I have done this in the past, but remember that the memory will only operate at the clock speed of the weakest bank.
  13. Not sure. I've tried different settings and not really noticed much difference TBH. Maybe loading times are a bit quicker.
  14. I'm flying the 152 a lot which is not cleared for flight into icing conditions. Using real weather, I've encountered a fair bit of icing inside clouds of course which means turning the peto heater on and descending out of cloud with carburettor heat on as quickly as possible.
  15. I started getting CTD's for the first time after installing the mega airliners pack. I have a suspicion that it could be down too long file names. Can't remember off hand how to resolve that though.
  16. Your piers look very nice Keith. I had a flight along the South coast a few days ago and will download them for my next flight. Don't know if you might do a request, but the pier at Weston super mare would be nice. Hopefully, I will have a go at scenery myself if time allows as I've forgotten most of what I knew about it since doing photo sceneries and object placing in FSX many years ago.
  17. I got mine from CDKeys. It was a little cheaper than directly from Microsoft. I did look at another provider who looked cheaper but their prices were quoted ex VAT.
  18. Experience has always told me that if I buy the cheaper version of anything, I always end up wishing I hadn't, especially with CPUs and GPUs. I therefore bought the premium deluxe edition and am glad that I did. Compared with the money I spent on my PC upgrades, the cost difference is is marginal.
  19. I recently upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 2700, then got an RTX 3070 GPU. I now need to get another CPU, probably a Ryzen 5600. As I'm not using 4k, I'm hoping these specs will be OK with 32 gb RAM.
  20. I have an attack 3 joystick and was able to asign all buttons and axises in the sim. I initially used the w10 standard driver, then downloaded the logitech software which made no difference. However, I just can't tune the sensitivity out of the stick even using -99 settings for both elevator and aileron axises. It's just usable, but landing is a nightmare as half a millimeter of stick movement sends the c152 lurching back into the air.
  21. Yeah, a few beaches and piers would be nice, along with some regional airport upgrades and cliffs without water running up the sides of them. It would also be nice to have some waves without turning the wind up to 40 knots.
  22. Sorry, I need to update my new system specs in my signature.
