  1. I have a solid 50 mb/s internet connection and have turned it up to 100% but the only watercraft I have noticed has been in some of my head on scenery
  2. Done the same myself. Forgot to check a fuse once and had an oven apart before I realised my error. My wife has asked me to fix her electrical items a few times when they just needed to be plugged in or switched on :)
  3. Probably a memory leak which needs to be fixed in the msfs coding.
  4. I have one of these and it was jittery in FSX as well. I suspect that a strip down, clean and lube would probably fix it. They are fairly poir quality products in my experience though not to bad when new, they don't seem to last too well.
  5. People are a bit confused as to what the difference is between reactivity and sensitivity.
  6. They do to me, though anything over 20 is playable. I've just finished upgrading my system with a 5600X, RTX 3070 and an M.2 SSD and now I can max out MSFS with lots of addons. I can't max out traffic though without something else having to give.
  7. That's what I did too, but I just need to press p to pause and p again to unpause as it was a toggle command.
  8. Control sensitivities have been the bane of my life and the same for quite a few others. It seems to depend on your hardware and my joystick is not supported. I can use my yoke and rudder pedals OK though but they are quite old and a bit sticky. All you can do is play around with the sensitivity settings until you get them as best you can. Good luck
  9. I'm afraid this is the case and it's most annoying. You can't change the weather in saved flights. That's pretty much why I'm not using the feature very much.
  10. I've had 2 CTDs to date. The first after installing the liveries megapack, but I think that related to long file names and I've now done the registry tweak to allow them. The second came after installing the Cardiff airport freeware scenery, though strangely this has worked flawlessly ever since. First suspect for me would always be something in the community folder so the solution is to clear the folder and give it another go. Sometimes add-ons don't play together very well and photo scenery can sometimes be hit or miss.. (Keith's piers have all been fine though :) ).
  11. No problems with getting GPUs & CPUs here in the UK. We've already got 3 RTX 3070s and a 3060 ti from Scan.co.uk. Had to order under different ids to get them though as it's only one per customer. Also got a 5600X CPU from them and a nice M.2 1 tb SSD on its way to top off my system. You have to be very quick when they become available though.
  12. A vanilla installation with a good SSD and fast CPU may well take only 4 minutes, but add on a couple of aircraft, a few airports and some photoscenery and I can be waiting for 15 or 20 minutes and I've got a half decent system with W10 on one SSD and MSFS on another.
  13. This and most of my freeware comed from http://www.flightsim.to - If you've not been there yet, you should find tons of stuff to play with :)
  14. Yeah, I don't keep anything in my community folder that I'm not using - I too have noticed a big impact on loading times. I also find something else to do when the sim is loading - sometimes make a coffee, but usually read the flight sim forums.
  15. Running at that rez because that's the native rez of my monitor until I get around to upgrading it. No point running any higher.
  16. Hoping for the terrain spikes to be removed along with better water masking for the coasts. A few more photogrammetry cities and some regional airports . I hope the Bristol and Gloucestershire areas get some work as I fly there a lot, but not holding out much hope on this one. The Needles on the Isle of Wight would be a nice addition.
  17. Loading times are understandably quite long, though FSX was as well. My solution has been to set W10 to hibernate with the sim loaded on occasions, though of course it needs a fresh restart in order to install updates. Following hibernation, my flight is up and running again in a flash when I reboot. If your PC won't hibernate, all it takes is a quick little registry tweak to enable hibernation.
  18. I have little green numbers in the top left corner of my screen and cannot remember for the life of me how I put them there. My recollection is that they came from developer mode but I'm not entirely certain that it wasn't an Nvidia setting or something else.
  19. Just celebrating new year so not necessarily in a fit state to reply but seem to recall all having a problem in fsx relating to to virtual memory and page file size.
  20. Didn't lose much on the old 2700. Paid £136 for it a while back and sold it for £130 on Gumtree this morning. Tech prices are completely mad, aren't they?
  21. My first CTD was after loading the liveries megapack. My second today was just after installing Superspuds Cardiff Airport. I have not fully investigated this one but my initial suspicion is that I have too much add-on scenery around Bristol which may be interfering.
  22. Just ordered an M.2 1TB solid state drive to compliment this rig and clone my 250 GB SSD containing MSFS onto it. I wonder how much effect that is going to have on performance and loading times - it will be interesting, I'm sure. Anyone else switched to M.2 noticed much difference?
  23. You also need to turn your wind up to 25 or 30 mph before you see decent waves.
  24. Nearly did the same thing getting the 2700 out. I forgot to warm up the PC and the CPU lifted out with the cooler. I thought some pins might go, but got lucky for a change.
