  1. You know what jethrom, I think you are on to something here! I agree, the shape of the cockpit enclosure almost agrees with the shape I encountered! Also, the two transition pieces at the bottom of each side, match what was projected. I know one thing, I am not going to try to resurrect the issue!! It damn near drove me mad trying to figure out where it came from. It definitely had something to do with missing files (approx 12) from the texture file. Once I found out what was missing, I copied the files over from one of the other textures and that solved it. How those files came up missing, I have not a clue! Thanks for sharing and GREAT detective work! We might keep you around, just in case...............! Rick
  2. Thanks, Larry, and yes, I already have the P-38 and you are correct, it is an experience to fly! As far as this P-51 goes, I've had others, but this one has the nice paint which I really like and it seems so stable flying. I do have another set of P-51's, they also fly nicely, but something about this one has my attention! Rick
  3. You go, David, I can barely hold on to one P51, and you have to hold on to two of them! Very nice! Rick
  4. Here you go Jan! This is a download that I got from this site's library. Don't know anything about a Warwick Mustang! This one has satisified me in every way, so I look no farther! FS2004 (ACOF) - FS2004 Warbirds FS2004 Civilian P-51D [ Download | View ] Name: p51dver2.zip Size: 13,757,899 Date: 01-04-2007 Downloads: 11,956 FS2004 Civilian P-51D. A civilian North American P51D Mustang powered by Packard Merlin V-1650-7. Features external model updates, photoreal textures, full working VC with 3D modeled gauges, special effects and unique sounds. New to this version are textured all small parts visible in VC for better FSX compatibility, night textures now stay reflective at night, new gauge/needle mappings and parts so night lighting much improved, fixed the corruption in VC parts due to 4mm weld in makemdl, supercharger gauge added, updated .air file and aircraft.cfg, switching the pilot's hat off now switches to leather flying cap, added a supercharger high blower setting light and a supercharger switch to VC, added mode polys to rudder and prop boss, tail wheel now turns, prop pitch on still blades has much more pitch when moved with pitch lever, sundry texture fixes and hole filling. Here is the download for the P51. It is a FS2004 download, which you will probably need a panel and sound for FSX. Didn't bother me, as I had another P51 download that helped me complete this one! Rick
  5. Thanks, Firefalcon, you got me thinking, so I pulled up YouTube and here's the real P-51. The developers got the aircraft real close to the real thing! Rick
  6. Thanks Khalid! I don't know about the Cadillac of the Skies, but I do love the excitement it can give! Rick
  7. ILS Approach to Landing! And, most of the time, she will give you nice wheel landings! Rick
  8. fltdave- Why revert to PM? I was merely trying to help AD by emailing him a compressed panel that I showed him above. I explained to him in a PM that I would need an email address other than gmail in order for me do that. Had he had a regular email address and was willing to share that with me, he could or should not do so by posting it on here. The PM was the only safe way to communicate that information. I can not help AD with his panel issue, but maybe you have provided him with a fix above. I am always willing to help and "share' with others on this site, but will only do so by making sure that any member' personal information will not be compromised! Rick
  9. Hi AD, just replied to your PM with a file name etc. Hope it works! Rick
  10. AD - I just sent you a PM. Rick
  11. Here is a screen shot of mine, if you are interested I can start searching for the panel. Like I said, I use it in the MD-11 and DC-10. Let me know! Rick
  12. ####### Moderator, Please move this thread to Screen Shot Forum! Thanks!! ####### I've got to stop this or get a another and/or larger hanger! I like these, though, because they have made their mark in our military history! Thanks - Rick
  13. Yep, when flying in formation, all aircraft flies as a unit. Everyone has to be in sync! I marvel at watching some of the air show videos on You Tube! You can tell the ones who put in hours of practice getting those aircraft to fly as a unit! It's unbelievable, some don't even look like they get any distance away from the their adjacent aircraft!! Thanks Khalid! Rick
  14. Nice Mooney and scenery. That last pic doesn't look anything like you? Oh well, she got it up and down in one piece, but I am sure you helped! Rick
  15. AD - Do you use VC or 2D panels? I use a 2D panel by Phillipe Wallaert in both my DC10's and MD11 and it works fine. Never heard of having to start out with another aircraft and then switch over to your desired MD-11 aircraft. But, I guess we learn something every day! Good luck, I hope you can get this resolved! Rick
  16. Khalid - Is Jan your flight instructor or a movie producer acquaintance? Oh well, you had a good landing, I assume you walked away from it? Rick
  17. "Like ticks on a dog!" :) I still like to look at these pics Khalid! Very impressive! Rick
  18. Cherokee 180's are nice aircraft. I rented one from an FBO, Westchester, NY, and cruised the Hudson River a bit! The RW 180 feels a little faster and quicker to respond than the FSX sim Cherokee aircraft, but still nice, just the same. Maybe I have just become spoiled the longer I download these high performance aircraft for the flight simming experience? Nice pics David! Rick
  19. Great pics and presentation David! I have had some flights into Will Rogers airport, nice facility! Thanks - Rick
