  1. Again this year aircraft from all over the world will be returning in June to the site of D Day. The Kentucky Air National Guard is again sending a C-130, containing several VIP Passengers who are WW II veterans back to Normandy! In accordance with tradition the C-130 from Kentucky has been remarked is colors and insignia it would have had, had it flown on D Day. These are some shots of the plane just "repainted." If they're not the highest quality it's on me. They were taken with a phone and I'm not the best at converting them to this site's specs. Michael
  2. Hey Bill. Happy to hear from you as well. If you've traveled there a lot by car you're probably as thrilled as I when they finally built the I-64 bridge so we didn't have to take the West Virginia Turnpike and its' tunnels to go from East to West or vice-versa. Michael
  3. How true that is!! My best to both of you, regardless of your spreading the "truth" a whole lot farther than the Law Will Allow!!;) Been there, done that!! Michael
  4. So am I in many ways. Having said that, I'm hugely unhappy, as are many others, that on their last "update" they removed most of their really enjoyed default "vehicles." So instead of choosing to fly a King Air or a H-46 for example, without shopping for aircraft, I now have to resort to the sub or maybe the armed trooper!:mad: BTW: I did try "flying" the sub underwater and the scenery detail is truly awful!! :p Michael
  5. Looks great Rick! Speaking of WWII, I had lunch with a friend today who is a crew chief on a C-130 for the Air National Guard. He told me they were painting up a current C-130 in colors etc. as if it were flying on D-Day. But more importantly, they are flying some WWII veterans to Normandy to celebrate the Anniversary this year!! HOW COOL IS THAT!!?? I've asked him to send me pictures of the plane with D-Day type markings. Even though it's a modern RW aircraft, I think people would enjoy seeing it on this site. Michael
  6. This is what I found. If these are what you choose to fly, then the default "vehicles" in P3D truly look like that! And, sad to say, there are truly other default "vehicles" to choose from!!
  7. I am enclosing here a few shots of the very few P3D default "vehicles" remaining in today's version of P3d, in this case P3Dv4.5. It seems every "update" of P3D eliminates more and more of the default "vehicles"! People often talk about earning GA time using P3D. But frankly as a RW pilot I have trouble seeing how logging their hours in any of these "vehicles" such as the submarine will help anyone obtain any type of certification!! IMHO if you're not willing to spend a TON OF MONEY BUYING AIRCRAFT YOU THOUGHT WERE ALREADY INCLUDED, STAY WITH FSX!! Other than the fancier weather patterns, I can't say P3D, including this latest update, is worth your or my investment! Rupert
  8. Very nice shots and great editing!! Having said that, like many no most film clips, I find the music truly distracting and overpowering. I'd hugely suggest, if you want to include sound, make it the aircraft sounds instead. Michael
  9. Frankly I find default ATC to be the most disapponting feature of any flight sim software I've tried. I've heard some folks say there is pretty good payware ATC available. But frankly, I've never thought it was important enough to try some.
  10. Hey Eric, A WORD OF CAUTION! I don't know if you currently have any P3D software currently or not. However the latest versions of P3D and P3D upgrades come with a very small number of "Default" airplanes. All the ads and revues talk about Beechcraft planes, Ch-46s, and several aircraft that were part of the original P3D package. If you buy the current P3D or even "upgrade" an earlier version, several of the "default" aircraft they talk about either aren't there anymore or if you upgrade an older version, will disapear. It seems Lockheed didn't get permission from manufacturers like Textron to show their planes as default. So they now must remove them from new installations or upgrades! Not to worry though. They still have such important "vehicles" as a submarine, a bathscape, a male soldier without a weapon, and TBTG, an armed soldier among their default "vehicles!" Though I doubt you'll be able to log many submarine or soldier hours towards your GA licenses. Michael
  11. Thanks for the comments guys! I should have pointed out the scenery is from the ORBX North America series. I'm hugely happy with it. In fact ORBX scenery is almost the only scenery I ever buy. ;) Michael
  12. I love your Piper Darryl! Looks like a pretty overcast day in Maryland. Well presented!! Michael
  13. Great shots Rick! Molly and I love the Charleston-Savannah area. It truly looks like what people from all over the world stereotype the entire South to look like. BTW: Where'd you get that sweet Waco?? I'd like to put it my hanger as well!;) Michael
  14. Good looking plan Aharon! I can't recall ever sitting in pilot seats that nice! And I agree the in-flight shots certainly make it worth a trip to your provided link. So where did you find that wonderful plane? Michael
  15. I agree Larry. When I worked for the railroad I always liked going to the Greenbrier Resort, which the railroad owned, for a few days of "conferences??" We'd typically have "heated" discussions at breakfast there and after the daily rounds of golf. Having said that, I can't recall many decisions ever been made there. But we did "discuss" a lot. ;) Michael
  16. It's a pretty day so I'm off on another $150 hamburger flight. This one is from Shepard WV to Wilyford WV with W35 (Potomac) as a flyover way point. Leaving KMRB. Making the turn over W35. Heading towards KLBF. Looking back at W35. Enroute. KLBE is insight. It's the one with darker pavement on the right. Turning to final. Tower view of approach to final. Tower view of taxi process. View when parked and just unloaded.
  17. Unless it's flying as a "PUFF" I sure hope they lift the lighted P off over enemy territory!!:eek: Michael
  18. I agree with all. That looks like a mean machine for its' era!!;) Michael
  19. Great shots Coronado!! Jan didn't mention his hanger full of birds, are mostly ones with salt water stains!! :p;) Michael
  20. Beautiful pictures!! Having said that, this airplane is obviously years behind the real world aircraft of that era!! Michael
  21. They look wonderful to me! I really like the head on shot showing the landing lights. ;) Michael
  22. What a well placed FREE AD!! I sincerely hope you'll at least pay something to people who operate this site!! A "Contributing Membership" would, IMO be the absolute minimum you should cough up!! Rupert
  23. I agree Scott!! I'm about to volunteer to Beta test it myself!;) Michael
  24. Wonderful! But from what I've seen from others, DON'T BRAG! Your turn may be next. And not to tempt fate, BACKUP NOW!! Rupert
  25. Do you have a way to get RW weather on the internet? Is so, plug the RW from where ever you are in manually. Is that too tough? during your flight, if you feel it's that important, go online and get RW weather for where you are or where you are going. Plug that in. Problem solved.
